I am planning on getting an M12 hackzall, primarily to cut up limbs (usually small) that fall off my cottonwood tree constantly, and whatever other DIY projects I might need it for. Is it worth it to pay the additional cost to get the fuel version? Or is the regular fine for my DIY needs?

Wouldn't say the 2420 hackzall be much good for the task and maybe 1 inch would be its worthy if that maximum limit between time and vibration with the short stroke.

The M12 Fuel is much more robust

I personally would consider the M18 unit or is that just not an option?

My father in law went out and picked up a m18 string trimmer today and after using it in the yard for a few hours I am thoroughly impressed. The bump feed system works great and it has enough power to cut down everything short of woody saplings. The rated run time of 1 hour is pretty accurate with a 9.0 battery.

Agreed, I love mine. I've done my yard trimming a couple of times now with my M18 trimmer and I think it's my all time favorite trimmer.

I have a couple of Stihl handlebar brush cutters that are more powerful than this M18 Trimmer, but you can't beat the weight and the ability to just plug in a battery and go.

I like the blower as well. Its all I need around the house and best of all, no CORDS!

I got to handle the string trimmer at HD today. I found it to be fairly heavy, although admittedly, there's not much of me. I see that Dewalt has also gotten in the game, and there was an Ego, Echo, and several Ryobi models. The price on the Milwaukee has me on the sidelines, for now.

So just a got a CPO email where they still have the 2587-22 M12 Fuel hammer drill and impact kits (or the 2594 version) for $229 with free tool offer still. Thought there is a few different items now available ... one is the 2278-20 12:1 infrared temp gun and another is the 2355-20 metal flashlight. The 1/4" drive ratchet is there too along with the 3/8" model.

Brushed drills, impact driver or hackzall along with an 4.0 XC battery are also still options.

The way I rationalized it was: 9ah Battery @ $169 + Rapid Charger @ $80 = $250. Puts the Trimmer cost @ $50...WHAT A DEAL!

I used my hedge trimmer yesterday for the first time on my neighbors hedges. I was out there for a solid 30-40 minutes and my 9.0 battery still had 4 bars when I finished.

I kept saying there would be deep promos on the OPE come spring but everyone thought $299 for just the string trimmer kit was the best we'd ever see.....

Inflator, yes! And chainsaw.

I still REALLY want a cordless heat gun, I hate dragging out the extension cord to do TWO heat shrink **** connectors in the engine bay or under the dash....

Good deal, my only concern is, if they are bundling this stuff now at good savings, how much better will the deals be at the end of the season? :headscrat

IMO they are trying to get some market share of the lawn maintenance sector with these great deals; I would doubt that it would go much lower (especially with the free tool). 9.0 battery alone is > $100.

Yup chainsaw would be decent .Makita has one for a while now.

But a battery powered heat gun now that would be pretty cool! :D

I see plenty of you tube reviews of the Ridgid twin battery 1 gal compressor now. Overall isn't too bad and does serve a limited purpose.

I do like its portability

Could we count on Milwaukee to do better? :headscrat

Hmmm with two 9.0 maybe :scared:

*DIGITAL tire inflator. The analog gauge on the ryobi won't cut it for me. I'm locked into C3 until a replacement drops from Milwaukee

Get the top level inflator. It has a digital read out and automatically stops at the preset inflation level. It's one of the few tools keeping one foot in the ryobi lineup.

Long time lurker here.

Today is the last day for the Acme sale that was previously mentioned here over three weeks ago. I had been holding out and finally caved in.

http://www.acmetools.com/shop/SearchDisplay?searchType=1002&storeUserType=G&categoryId=&searchTerm=MW0252017&storeId=10751&catalogId=10551&langId=-1&pageSize=24&beginIndex=0&sType=SimpleSearch&resultCatEntryType=2&showResultsPage=true&searchSource=Q&pageView=#searchTerm=MW0252017&mpp=96

I just bought the 2760-22 SURGE hydraulic driver kit and a 48-00-5226 Sawzall blade for $219.32 total.

In a separate transaction, I bought the 2781-22 Grinder with the lock on slide switch kit and a 49-93-7805 cut off blade for $267.35 total.

The addiction is real.

The 300 for the trimmer kit with free blower is good but pretty much equivalent to the deal I got when I pre-ordered. I paid 435 for the trimmer and blower kits, thats both tools with 2 9.0s and 2 rapid chargers. Though just the trimmer kit and blower bare tool then would of been 338.

i just want acme (or someone) to issue a 20% off 150$ or more coupon, so i can order a mid-torque . . . . .

Home Depot has (temporarily?) reduced the offset scissors $2 to $17.97. I keep a set in every truck.

So I picked up one of the inexpensive Shumacher 140W power inverters when I was in the "World" today, worked out good and fit nice and snug off the dashboard adapter on my Durango right next the brake controller. Just one of the 3 different power outlets this vehicle has.

Then plugged in a M12 charger with a 48-11-2401 battery that showed a 1/2 charge. After about 15 min of driving the light went green. :D

Well didnt take long for me to find the deal I wanted. Got the Mid Torque kit with 5.0s for $250 and the Surge kit with 5.0s for $210. It was a limited deal in the weee hours of the morning. So at most mid will cost me $100 w/ case after selling the batteries and charger and the surge $60..... I have no impacts left to buy now, hopefully Milwaukee doesnt release one for 18 months minimum.

I have one. It's called a lighter...

[emoji16][emoji6][emoji106]

Sorry, I had to. But seriously a lighter works great for what you're describing. Nothing will melt or catch fire if you're careful aka not an idiot. And it'll throw much less radiant heat to everything else.

Good luck selling those 5.0s and chargers. The non-retail market has been saturated with them and their prices are dropping. But nonetheless, good luck haha
