I have all those already.. the string trimmer deal is appealing, and so is the m12 ra impact.. I have a work issue i need to sort out first though.

Anyway - I have a question for you guys with the trimmer. Can you feather the throttle on it on either speed, or is it just on/off at full speed?

You can feather it in both speeds.

I did find it hard to maintain the feathered speed though as my finger either wants push harder or softer on it... kind of like with the gas pedal.

Feathering is no problem at either speed for me, it has a variable speed trigger.

I always wanted a trimmer that you could run at slower speeds for around my metal pole barn and vinyl fence.
The gas units are hard to go real slow with because of the clutch. By the time you give it enough gas to get going it's too fast for what I want.

With the direct drive of the electric one you can put it on turtle speed and go real slow around all the stuff you don't want to mess up.

I would buy it again in a second!

Single Tick is $10 over at Ohio Power, if you have to pay shipping, only worth it if adding to a free ship order.

Was trying to explain tick to my boss in Home Depot the other day. He couldn't understand the point of it when I told him it didn't have its own gps but was only tracked through the app using Bluetooth. He refused to even believe me so I had to pull up the info and show him. Once I had finally proven it he was completely against getting them. They would help someone like him a lot and he was ready to purchase. After learning how they really worked he decided that it wasn't for him even though I think it would help him. While talking about it several other older guys came up asking about the new "gps" tracker. It seems to me that a lot of older guys think it is a gps tracker like one they would put on a wife/kids car to track all the time. They have a hard time comprehending that it only shows a location when a phone with Bluetooth and the Milwaukee app gets within range.

I might. Not be 100% accurate but after reading and talking to the rep I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Just picked up the trimmer and blower combo at HD for $299. Nice to have another 9.0 to add to the arsenal. I think the trimmer might need a shoulder strap as mentioned by others - it's not exactly light.

Yep, you've got it. I snagged two of them from Depot thanks to that way cheap $10 price, just to play with. I'm not a contractor and have no real need for them but I'm into new tech and thought I'd try them out. Setup is dead simple.

They've got to get more people using the app though, to make the tech really useful, which is why they made the price so cheap, I think.

What would help is if they incorporated Ryobi and Ridgid into the app somehow.. but that won't happen..

I can pretty much get my echo to turn however fast I want.. I wouldn't mind replacing it with electric, but the thing just keeps going with minimal maintenance.. now if Milwaukee makes a dedicated cordless edger, that is well within their capabilities now - that would earn a spot in my shed.. edging is what eats up all the line in my string trimmer..

I couldn't get an echo, stihl, or redmax to go as slow as I want to spin it but the electric one is no problem.

For those still considering or wondering about the trimmer and blower, I wanted to give my review. Background, Within the past 10 years, I have owned and ran a landscaping company, I'm very picky about the quality of my equipment I use, and I still use a Stihl FS90R (commercial model) trimmer and Stihl commercial blower on my small personal yard. It's way overkill for my tiny yard, but I just have a hard time downgrading.

My dad's trimmer has been giving him trouble, so I saw that as an opportunity to give him the only Stihl trimmer I still have, and try out the M18 trimmer. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and feel of the product, as well as the power output. It will take some getting used to not hearing the motor, so it's harder for me to "feel" the torque and rpm. I'll be taking it to a field with tall grass tomorrow to see how it compares to the FS90R.

Also, I actually prefer that blower to ANY handheld blower I've ever used. The weight is really nice, it's not constantly sucking in my pants/shorts into the side of it, and it performed great! I didn't plan on getting rid of my Stihl blower, but I might just have to now.

I will say that I am loving my m18 blower and string trimmer more the more I use them. I am looking forward to using the hedge trimmer when it comes in.

I would definitely be interested in their edger!

When are they gonna make a fuel multi tool?

I think that is the only tool that Milwaukee doesn't have in Fuel that should. It's one of the few things Dewalt does have. I sold my Milwaukee multi-tool and I am relying on my Bosch plug-in in anticipation of a Fuel model. Though I was disappointed to find out last week, some of my attachments don't work on the tool-less Bosch. I hope it's sooner than later. New tool announcements next month!

I have been reading through recent pages of the thread with an interest in the string trimmer and blower. I do not have any Milwaukee cordless tools at this time.

I see mention of deals for the trimmer and blower at $299 at HD. Is that the bare tools only?

My hd claims to have some of these in stock.
M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-ion Brushless Cordless String Trimmer Kit $299. In this case the 'kit' comes with charger and battery. Which I will need, obviously.
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauke...rdless-String-Trimmer-Kit-2725-21HD/300272796

Is the $299 the regular price of the trimmer with battery and charger?

Thanks

I'm addicted to that string trimmer.

I don't think I need a hedge trimmer (might try one, though), but I sure would like a little compact cordless chainsaw in the same product line. It's a void that needs to be filled.

Ok thanks.
Then this is the one I'm looking for, expires end of June.
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauke...31?bvrrp=1999/reviews/product/2/301547331.htm

Not sold in stores, out of stock online. I put my email in to be notified.

Is the 'not sold in stores' a hard and fast rule? It sounds like some people are finding this kit in stores?
Most of the stores have one of each. Just grab the $299 trimmer kit and a bare tool (blower/Hedger) walk to register. Computer automatically does the deal. Online is specific combo sku. Thats why it comes up as not available. Look up each tool undivially to see if they are in stock at your store. Acme.com has the same deal. Free shipping and depending on your state. No tax.

they had them in my local store, which, aside from being on the opposite side of the country, is also the smallest store in my region (as they constantly tell me).

I love my Milwaukee omt. I lay a lot of floors and it is invaluable for that sort of work. As a matter of fact neither my drill or impact are fuel versions, and I use the piss out of them, only complaint being the drill chuck *****. I'll just stay in my sheltered little world until one of them breaks, lol, then I'll have to look into the fuel versions.

On a side note, got this as a belated bday gift from BIL. I'm excited to finally have one, usually I borrow someone elses if i need one. Model 6519-31

I hear a lot of complain on trimmer fatigue. I just used my trimmer and I agreed. I came from an echo srm225 which I believe is heavier then the battery Milwaukee.

Don't remember reading this but I think for me the fatigue is due to holding the trimmer and squeezing that big *** trigger. Just my guess.

Like everyone, beside the fatigue, love the trimmer's capability. Wish they would redesign that trigger like on my echo.

Absolutely zero fatigue for me using this trimmer. The only issue I have had is from using it in tight quarters where I have to lift it at a weird angle. :dunno:

Yep, I grabbed two of them two days ago (Saturday) just to try. I'd actually received an Autolite rebate card of $20 so it felt like they were free LOL

My store didn't even have them marked at $10. They've got the entire display shoved way over by the Pro Desk and they were still tagged at $30. Yep, they're gonna sell a lot of them that way.

Finally remembered to order a Snap-on YA905 boot for my Milwaukee ratchet as discussed previously here. Thanks again to whoever posted about it. Can't beat it for $5.20.351baf2003c96a17b7f56010c726a694.jpgddd94978173862035126b63da3d0360f.jpg
