So maybe I was in **** mood I dunno but I went to order the Milwaukee Workskin Tee from ACME with the free Flex gloves and found out you can only have one size option on the glove promo (large) at least online. I will call direct to CS see if they make any exceptions

So then after a thread earlier today on HAMMERS sent off FB message to Milwaukee inquiring about my new 19 oz fiberglass hammer 48-22-9316.

I had to go to the farm this afternoon and pull a slider window in the commercial donut shop I had built and change it BACK to the correct way it is supposed to be installed. Note here...DO NOT let an Electrician touch a window :D

So anyhow I digress but Milwaukee answered my inquiry promptly though confused me entirely!

See I asked the rip claw design on my hammer. It's not symmetrical like most hammers I ever had experience with. One side is smaller is than other. I questioned if that was some lack of quality control but they responded with..

"It's an anti RIGGING design"

Now I am totally f**king confused. :headscrat

Now I google this because I have never heard of an anti rigging feature and sent a second message for a better explanation but got no response as of now so guess they are gone for the day.

So I do my homework searching and the Home Depot site says

It's an anti RINGING design!

Hmmm CAN I WORK FOR MILWAUKEE? :wtf:

If someone really wants the cabinet go to your Lowes, was just in a store that online showed 0 and there was 1 in the tool aisle, guy pulled up local inventory and other stores that showed 0 had stock too.

dacan23 is the Man.

i went to the local store. showed them the page on my phone. they looked it up, said they had none, but the next further store out had one, maybe. not sure, maybe a display unit. so, i decided to give it a shot, drove 20 minutes further out, showed them the page.

they said yup, it is here somewhere, go talk to the guy in hardware. so i went to their desk. nobody there except a woman waiting to get keys cut. pushed the button. after a few minutes a kid shows up. starts cutting her keys, which is fine, she was there first. another lady shows up, stands behind me. he gets done. show him the phone, and he looks it up on his widget, and says that it must be in the overhead. asks the lady behind me if she needs keys cut. she does, and he asks her for the key she wants copied. seems reasonable. another lady shows up while he is doing that. she wants keys too. he helps her. finally, after 10 or 15 minutes of cutting keys, he starts out to look. we manage to find it pretty quickly. he needs a lift to get it. he disappears for another 5 minutes, but does come back, like he promised, and gets it down for me.

i take it to the customer service desk. i tell the woman there that i had an online only coupon, for either 20$ off 100$, or 20% off 100$, but i wasn't sure which. she asks if i have a copy of it, and i tell her no. i wanted to order it online and pick it up, but the online showed none in stock, but the store to the north told me that they were the only ones with one in stock, so came down, and waited for keys to get cut. she told me that there was nothing she could do without a coupon. i asked if she could override it, and she said no, only a manager could. i asked to speak with one. she said sure, and called an extension. as this is happening, 7 people have lined up behind me (there were none when this started). she waits for about a minute, and hangs up, muttering something about how the manager never picks up. she asks if it was 20% or 20$. i tell her i am really not sure, but would be happy with 20$ (i was also buying something else for 35$). she tells me she will override the price and sell it to me for 79$.

thanx to dacan23 for pointing out that one store can see the real stock status at other stores, and mentioning the online coupons.

Anyone use the M12 rotary tool? Worth it?
I was just going to ask this as well! I'm getting the vac this weekend and I'm thinking about getting the rotary tool to replace my **** dremel. What's the battery runtime on it like with a compact battery or a 4.0? Anyone?

Sweet, excellent job. I cant believe how many people were there getting keys cut lol.

so, i unboxed that Kobalt tool hanger today.

building one yourself would allow you to fit come issues, like:

View attachment 665886

these are a M12 2402 driver and a 2403 drill (upside down with the battery installed. you will notice that the M12 tools hang much differently than the M18's do. the handle on the M12 is both rounder, and flares out, while the M18's, at least the ones i have, dont.

while the 2402 looks like it is not sitting well in the image, it is actually very stable. swapping it around so the trigger end faces out causes it to droop, looking like it is going to fall out.

i would have concerns about storing the 2403 like that, for two reasons:

1) i think it could put dents into the grip.

2) i prefer not to store my tools with batteries in them, and this would cause the battery connection compartment to collect dust and other ****. this would also be an issue with putting M18 tools in upside down, but the M18 doesnt have the cup shaped receiver like the M12's do.

while the 2AH battery fits upside down, the 4AH battery is too tall.

but, building one yourself with all the same functionality would be substantial effort. the sides are perforated for use as a peg board for having things on. the top has an integrated power strip, with the ability to route the power cable out either side.

i think if i would designing this, i would provide for stacking boxes on top of each other and locking them together. the current design has the sides angle back at the top. it would still be possible to provide for stacking, but it would be more work.

wall mounting involves (potentially using provided) bolts to anchor a rail to the wall, and hanging the box on that. it makes installation easier (it is pretty heavy, more than i would want to hold myself while i tried to drive screws into the wall behind it). i cannot comment on how well the wall anchor works, since i just set it on the bench next to the tool box.

all in all, i am happy with the purchase. not perfect, but pretty adequate, and i think an great value for the price (99$, although i paid 79$. see previous post).

Ok... I'm no longer looking for the Kobalt tool hanger... I'm heavy into M12... I'm in the process of designing one.

Several reasons but... I just got the Jig Saw and it's too bulky to fit in a small Milwaukee bag I got for next to nothing on AWD... I also got the M12 Band Saw (today) and it doesn't fit in anything I have either.

SO... I need a tool hanger section for 6 tools... 2 impacts, drill, right angle impact, 2402 screwdriver, polisher

It has to allow for storage of the Hackzall, Jigsaw, Bandsaw...

Provide future space for 3 Fuel Ratchets...

Has anyone on this site bought or heard anything about the M18 Fuel die grinder? I haven't found much info on it, doesn't seem extremely popular probably because alot of people don't even know they make one

Well its not a really a casual purchase being its like $200 for bare tool and was a long time in coming too .

Its pretty big and doesn't have variable speed either if I remember right.

But if one has a need for a cordless die grinder it may be the way to go

Obviously the M12 rotary tool wont cut it for any serious work

It would be nice for cleaning up welds and deburring but that's only maybe 60 percent or less of what I use die grinders for, everything else is extended periods and with only a 20 min runtime on a 5.0 that's a pretty steep price for that purpose. I think I'm just gonna get the polish/sander and that should cover my quick cleanup stuff

Yeah I was also surprised the tight fit of the M12s, so they will have to be right side unstead of unside down, solves the problem of having to have XC batteries for them to hang upside down. The M12 mag fits nicely.

I installed the one in the living room while wife was out....

Quick question. I was trying to run a 1 3/8 inch bosch daredevil with my m12 fuel drill last night and it kept torque stalling and shutting off. Am I just asking too much of this drill or is it defective?

I'd say it depends on the wood. A spade that size Will give a hard time to my 20Maxx in walnut or PT etc. Makita HR2811F with a Bosch chuck insert comes out for that stuff. That thing will reverse the earths orbit

1-3/8" is huge enough to begin with, but those Bosch Daredevil bits are crazy in regards to how much torque they cause. Almost sprained my wrist with the kickback just from a 3/4" DareDevil on my m12 fuel drill/driver (it stalled, like yours, is the only reason why I didnt get more hurt)

Id grab an 18V (or corded) drill and hold on tight, for sure.

Had the same thing happen with my M18 brushed drill and a Bosch 1 1/2" Daredevil. I stopped drilling and ran the drill by itself and its now making a clunking noise after spinning that it didnt do before.

Lightly mentioned it before when told her I got 3. She said "now we have a tool cabinet in the TV room", I said yes it organizes tools lying around.

Did she know you were going to? If not what was her response?

I have a bachelor friend the has like 5 snap on rollers all through his house. 2 for tools, 2 for guns, and one for his tattoo tools. They are all like 60 inches. He likes to spend money lol.

Page 6 of the Owner's Manual

Battery Pack Protection

To protect the battery from damage and extend its life, the tool’s intelligent circuit monitors current draw, temperature, and voltage drops.

In extremely high torque, binding, stalling, and short circuit situations that cause high current draw, the tool will vibrate for about 5 seconds, the fuel gauge will flash, and then the tool will turn OFF.

To reset, release the trigger.

Under extreme circumstances, the internal temperature of the battery could become too high.

If this happens, the fuel gauge will fl ash and the battery pack will shut off. Let the battery pack cool and then continue work

The top of page 4 has specifications.

Ya that screw tip on the Bosch daredevil is pulling it in too fast and the Fuel overload sensing **** is shutting it off for sure

Your pushing it with that size for sure :D And a standard style non screw point spade would probably be more forgiving allowing you extract the bit easier to lessen the load and clear chips.

I also would love to see it twist your wrist right thru but the way its set just aint gonna happen..

Shoot use a 2410 with decent size spade bit and see how quick that one shuts down. :lol_hitti

Obviously M12 tools and especially the Fuels with the FAT handles don't really fit well to that hanging slot design that is being pushed as so popular right now. There are ideas from wood and even pvc pipe. Just seems some of the other bigger blockier 18-20v pistol style tools from different manufacturers apply themselves to these ideas so much better.

I've looked a lot options for this power tool storage and I'm not knocking the this pre- fabricated wall unit in any way. If you make it work for your application that's cool...and there is no other justification needed.

But I definitely had have a hard time applying a some of these ideas to match up with lot of the Milwaukee offerings, and I do have quite a few to store.

So do I look forward to seeing some customized future storage solutions. I mean after all isn't this like the reason most peeps BUY tools to do **** with right? :headscrat: (or at least I hope so )

And this is what we are talking about because this is the Milwaukee tool thread right :D

And I do have a few cool wood plans I have saved over decades back when creating your own storage was more popular than buying pre fab metal.

And even though I have long past experience in machine shop and Millwright work, I have never overall applied myself to welding or the tin knocking trade though that work have overlapped a lot of my lifelong career over time.

Long story short here I bought a Sears Craftsman 27" 5 drawer lower on sale with points and lined it with HF drawer liners. Its doing a great job I have the narrow top drawer full of bits and other drive accessories the medium deep drawers hold around 5 or more corldless tools in various configurations on their sides and with batteries (or not that doesn't much matter) I don't worry about dust entry in general AND the biggest thing for me is that the TOOLS are out of prying eyes and not easily accessible. And I can actually lock all the drawers if needed.

Less than $175 bucks out the door it was with discounts and the BIG lower drawer holds my grinders and accessories. Straight out disclaimer here it will not fit the larger circ saws. The flat top does hold several my cordless impact guns for easy access (they do stand quite well) and rack style stored impact sockets ready for quick use.

And a couple of years ago at my flea mkt one fellow begged me take some storage shelving off his hands so I did at like $15 a rack and they held A LOT of my tools for several years

I'm beat right now I just come home from Friday to Sunday market run but I'll get some pics soon as I can.

I agree that the kobalt shelf isn't really designed for the m12 style guns. I bought mine specially for my m18 impacts and then just add whatever else fit nicely.

I use to keep a lot of my "mechanic type" tools in my Mac toolbox and now moving them to that shelving unit frees up drawer space for other tools.

Did the same myself. Got 2, 1 for each end of my work bench. One to hold all my cutting and grinding tool, and 1 for all my drills/impacts. If the 2 M12 tools I got dont fit, Ill probably just put them on my pegboard with holders.

i just want to say that i dont think that the lowes wall tool thing is bad for the M12 devices. the design is such that putting them in upside down is not optimal, but i dont think i like that anyway. i prefer to have then hang by the top, which they do well in this unit.

it is a limited capacity unit, but is well made and reasonably well thought out. i think it is intended for a home owner who has a few tools, and might be interested in getting it all organized, rather than someone who has a lot of tools, like someone reading this thread is likely to have.

Did you just assume we have a lot of tools because we're in this thread? You're probably right...

I've been wanting to build a 6 or 7 slot version of the Lowes organizer for a while. It might be easier to just get two of them at this point. One for M12 and one for M18.

I would say if you can get it shipped for $80 thats a deal, which is possible at Zoro with a 25%+ coupon. For some reason HD now lists it as $102 not $99 anymore.

Any deals on the M18 wet/dry vac? I can't remember if I've seen it go on any worthwhile discount in the past.
