Well bought the FUEL 1/4 Impact and drill today at HD. Seems pretty nice but have no idea what the Bluetooth is for, LOL. It came with a 6-1/2 add on circular saw which I put up on ebay and it sold within an hour. Like to get the 7-1/4 FUEL circular saw, so maybe put the money from the 6-1/2 towards an upgrade. Tested out the impact with a #3 tapcon in cement and it worked flawlessly. Have to put about 120 of them in tomorrow with a set of stair treads so we'll see how it holds up. Next project is removing about 200 12' sections of wall shelf brackets. That's what I really bought it for. Will advise. Thanks for your help guys much appreciated.

BTW not Milwaukee but also picked up a cool Bosch jobsite radio today. It rocks!

Anyone use the M18 10" Miter Saw to cut metal, specifically aluminum, like aluminum frame beams?

most likely it is for their tool location stuff. works well if you:

have a smart phone

leave bluetooth on

leave the application on

enable "location services" for the application (if that is a thing on your smart phone)

(leave the application enabled to run in the background, if that is a thing on your phone).

and register all your tools.

i had a friend who sprayed all her tools pink. not only did no one steal them, no one asked to borrow them.

I might "MIGHT" be persuaded to ship out another brand new 7.25" fuel saw with a free fast charger again. But it would have to be for the retail of the saw as a bare tool without tax. ($200 no tax and a free m18/m12 rapid charger) Shipping costs on the saw is insane to do it that way, and basically leaves little room to make it worthwhile (for me anyway) to separate a promo kit with a battery if you can find one lingering around a store.

Whichever option you choose, don't buy the saw just as a bare tool right now. Either find a promo kit on clearance (if u even can) or we can make a deal if I can find another one here. Just giving you an option, not trying to take advantage of anyone. There are better deals out there but it's either more money or you have to hunt down a promo kit on clearance that's still lingering around from last Christmas.

Still waiting on Milwaukee to warranty out my two impact drivers, 2757 & 2753. I got the new one key hammer drill to replace my fuel non hammer drill. I think I'm going to throw the one key impact/drill in my toolbox and the other drill/impact will go in a bag of I need to run to someone's house. I need to get a double pack of the compact 2.0 batteries. Anyone know the part number?

Thanks, I really don't need it right now just something I'd like to get at some point. I really don't need the extra battery or charger I have a bunch of them already. I see the bare tool going for about $150 shipped on ebay.

Today I'm doing a spring cleaning/Inventory and I took photos of all my tools at work for insurance purposes. Laid out most of my Milwaukee stuff and it's safe to say I may have a small problem lol. Also at home I have the Wet/Dry Vac, the Jobsite Fan, several batteries, and an M12 Drill and Impact Driver.

Before anyone chimes in with the "Hur Dur you don't use your tools because they don't look like they've been left outside for 5 years", most of these are less than 3 months old [just sold off all my other battery platforms to consolidate down to just M12/M18], and I cleaned the hell out of everything before I grabbed these pics. And of course I only use my white silk gloves whenever I handle these tools 😅😅
Phone won't let me rotate the pic, sorry! I'd love to believe it when I say I think I'm all done with my Milwaukee binge, but there's still the Fuel Ratchets, Heat Gun, and Soldering Iron... so... maybe after that?

Was looking at the rocket lights today at the store and they have two versions. One for 200 bucks with free 5.0 battery and one for 400 bucks with free 9.0 battery. Is the one worth double the price? I don't really need either battery but I'm a sucker when they throw in the free batteries. Really I don't need the light either because I have corded led work lights and a couple smaller m18 lights like the lantern but it would be nice for lighting up a whole room or working outside at night. Was thinking about for emergencies and maybe camping. But for that price I'm almost better off just buying a generator and using the corded led lights I have now. Just trying to weigh my options. I don't think I can justify 400 bucks for a work light, 200 maybe with the free battery.

The difference between the lights is one is 2000 lumens, the other is 3000. The big difference is the 3000 lumen model is dual powered 110v/18v, and has a built in battery charger...

2 things - what did you use to clean those? And you should post that picture on Milwaukee's Facebook page, or Instagram.. I don't really use either, but that's a good picture and should be shared on social media..

WD-40 on a rag, takes off just about anything. A few of these were so dirty you couldn't tell they were red anymore lol and the WD strips it all off without damaging the plastic or rubber. The only thing I've noticed is to try to avoid the white of the "Milwaukee" logo, a few times won't affect it but after a couple dozen wipedowns I notice it does start to remove the white.

Won't the wd40 make it greasy to the touch? I've used that to clean my motorcycle wheels b4. Works good for that..
I wipe it down with the WD then afterwards wipe it down with a clean dry rag, takes most of the greasiness away. It's a bit time consuming, but I try to do it every few weeks. I'm a little crazy about my tools though

Just got my Rocket2, already had Rocket1. Like mntioned V2 has more lumens, 3 positionable heads, can run on a cord and is battery charger. The Kit comes with a nice bag, bare tool does not.

I have the original rocket light and its good. The portability was what I was after I do like all the added benefits of the Rocket2 but I honestly can't see myself laying down that much money for one. And I think I would get the ac adaptable rover first, that used to have a free battery offer too at one time if remember right.

So I often wipe my tools down with WD 40 and some times use a little diluted simple green for grease.

One thing I notice with every day job use is that white lettering will easily start disappearing fast.

But a white paint pen and steady hand can easily make that part all purty once more.

During my off season time long winter downtimes is mostly when I usually clean them up good gather everything up and reorganize my tool storage cabinet...

Then it begins all over again :D

I was actually just watching a good comparison video between the 2 rocket lights. Guy made a good point at how the V1 is perfectly balanced when carried by the handle, and the V2 is bottom heavy making it a little annoying to carry when folded.

The dewalt one being released seems really nice actually. 3000 lumen, and $199 as a bare tool.

Yep, that and a variable speed (dial to set max and trigger to feather) die grinder.

It pains me to say that I'm pretty jealous of DeWalt's grinder offerings for the 20/60v things. Milwaukee's gotta step it up!

I'd suggest the 1/2" Fuel mid torque model 2861-20.

Lots of people like the compact impacts, but I found them to be underpowered for many things...probably just me but I had a hard time finding what they were good at. The mid torque is just a little bigger but much more powerful. Just my opinion.

The thing is I already have the 2663-20 but the one you list seems to have maybe a bit more power and smaller.

If the smaller one fits a 13" laptop, I may get that when I can find it.

This bag is made to carry a laptop too, not sure what size though.

http://www.acmetools.com/shop/tools/milwaukee-jobsite-tech-bag-48-22-8210

Here's the small backpack on the hd site, same price as Acme

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-Low-Profile-Backpack-48-22-8202/302906321

Editing my post - here's the different tablet/laptop storage options for the backpacks available now.
Smaller model-

IMG_2182.jpg

here's the other new backpack model, 2 options here also it seems.

IMG_2179.png

IMG_2183.jpg

Here's the original.. seems like the best protection for a laptop. The new model in the first pic has the easiest access though if it's something you're always gonna grab.

IMG_2180.png

And finally, here's that tech bag.

IMG_2181.png

Hopefully the new backpacks are lighter than the original model. The weight is what really turned me off. I wish Milwaukee would make a regular backpack to carry everday items instead of just a dedicated tool bags.. gimme something to carry extra clothes, some chargers a cables for a phone/tablet, drinks, etc.. and I'm in...

I agree with this here. This is a great mix of both size and power.
