Have to look that up, thanks. Not sure what you're talking about, LOL...

Look at the torch and axe blades for the sawzall that Milwaukee makes. The Milwaukee blades are the best I've used.. for demo like you're describing, a combo of a sawzall and circular saw would likely be your best options. At least with a circular saw, given its clean wood, you can hold the piece ur cutting with one hand and cut easily. With the sawzall, what ur cutting shakes a lot.

Don't think the brushed (non fuel) sawzall is gonna slow you down. That thing is more than up to the task

I would like to get the M18 Fuel 6 1/2 inch circular from Acme. It's the 2730-20 bare tool for $179.00. Has anyone used this saw and what do you think? It seems to be the cheapest I have seen.

Here, good video if you haven't seen.. oh.. and you can still get the 7.25" saw in a promo kit that comes with a 9.0 batter and rapid charger for $249 online at some places. If you can find one lingering in a heartbeat me Depot (hard to find now) they are on clearance for $200.

I can prob find another by me, but the shipping is almost $50 to send that out even if I tried to get one for you.

Anyone had any luck lately best offering or otherwise sniping an M12 underhood light on eBay? I've been watching but so far no dice. I've got the Astro 150SL on its way here now. I want to at least get the M12 as a third option. Maybe start a feeler thread to see if there's any other strong standout people really want to see before going ahead with it.

Tooltopia has the bare underhood for $162 maybe, still not cheap enough for me.

CpoMilwaukee is $175 currently. Not sure about shipping.

Ocloc24 posted cheaper eBay prices but sometimes $15-20 is worth it for a better warranty possibly. Or at least a better return policy.

Good price I hope it stays down I will hang in ther for bit longer and maybe will get a percentage off offer in an email to stack with it. 6 1/2 lefty saws are my fav with the better line of sight and although the Milwaukee is bit bigger than my current Makita I've been wanting one for while now. I really like the 7 1/4" Fuel, overall its a very light and comfortable saw to operate. I most often use the 5.0 with it. I like the balance of that one better than the 9.0 that came with it

I really like the 6.5" Fuel saw. The left blade is great (Im right handed) and since Im cutting down sheet goods 99% of the time, the "limited" depth of cut is a non-issue. Ive never run into a lack of power either. Ive done some 2x4 cutting with it and it works fine for that too.

Just because I bleed red and black, I also have the M12 Fuel circ saw and the larger 7-1/4" M18 Fuel circ saw. The 6.5" gets the most use, though.

What would be best M18 tool to cut up demo work into smaller pieces to fit on trailer? Current project has a bunch of 1x2 fir strips that are as long as 16' and a bunch of particle board mostly 3/4" covered both sides in formica as big as 4x6 sheets. There is some electric work attached (nothing live), mostly BX cable. Would a circular saw be a good option here? I have a saws all (not fuel). Is there anything else that would be good for quick work to cut scrap into manageable pieces? A chain saw would be great, LOL...

I would wing down those furring strips with a cordless handheld circ in minute and sheet goods too...no fooling around with vibes from recip action. Plus you probably hold the boards steady with one hand and handle the saw with the other if you need too. Though using a hackzall be good it be a bit more work and wouldn't care about the cable with that or two handed sawzall. I would try to stay away from cutting the cable for the sake of the blade with circ.

I love my M18 hackzall! Use it for everything from quickly cutting wood down to cutting fenders and bumpers and other metal. The other day I threw it in a bag with my 12" Diablo pruning blade and went over to my sister and brother in laws house and trimmed all their palm trees. You really can't beat the balance and feel with only one hand operation. I'm am 100% planning on picking up the new M18 Fuel version once it's released!

I do the same exact thing with my Hackzall and Diablo pruning blades lol. Well, minus the palm tress, mine are pine :D

Youre 100% right on the one handed operation and balance. Extremely versatile tool because of that and size.

I'm not concerned with the return policy really, but has there been issues with getting warranty service from buying on eBay? I only buy NIB stuff, I never really thought about if it would be an issue if I were to ever need to warranty something.

Thanks for the replies about the 6 1/2'' and also the 7 1/4'' saws. I always thought it was easier to see the blade when cutting with a circular saw, that's why I use a left handed saw with my right hand. I had to learn this carpentry stuff on my own (lots of firewood over the years). I am unable to do a lot of carpentry work any more, so I thought if I got rid of my left side Porter Cable 7 1/4'' saw and picked up a 6 1/2'' Milwaukee, it would work out better when I did need it. I have several batteries so I only need the tool. The non fuel version would probably be fine for the amount that I need. I have found that a sawzall type saw is to painful to use so I do not use that any more. Thanks again for the replies.

NP. They go by serial # of production date.....assuming, hoping the selling date has some sorta resemblence within reason of being made somewhat recent.

Just found the part number for the Rocket2 bag, 48-55-2135. Milwaukee does not show it as an orderable part and one site has it for $90 savings of $16 lol

Compared Rocket1 vs Rocket2 and 2 is noticably brighter, with the 3 positioning heads its very useful. Glad I shelled out for it. The bag is very nice and V1 does fit in it, dont know what they charge for it by itself. The V1 top is the identical size, length is a tad shorter, but the bottom is smaller.

The Radius pumpkin, was expecting to be blown away..... meh... Its a glorified M18 lantern, yes it produces a lot of light over a big area, but its not super bright to see perfectly. Depends on the work you were doing it may not light the area enough. Of course the first time I lose power I will probably think its great. It would be awesome for camping or illuminating a big area when there is now power.

Rocket2 is $399 vs Rocket1 $199, is it worth double, not sure about that. Considering cheapest V1 cost me after selling freebies was $55 and my final cost of V2 with bag is going to be $260, still a lot more. The corded option will be helpful, charging to me isnt a notable benefit. One Key Pumpkin will end up costing me $200, no way I think thats worth it, $349 is an outrageous regular price.

I had to send in a few month old drill for transmission issues. When filling out the eService request, they asked for a receipt/proof of purchase. I had one, so it wasnt an issues. Im not sure how they handle it when you dont have one.

All but maybe one or two if the items have been from sellers who were " authorized Milwaukee Retailers" and I have the digital receipts saved so hopefully there's no problems. I've been fortunate enough to not have to use the warranty yet

When I sent my grinder in they went off the serial number and used the 5yr warranty, never even asked for a receipt or even where I bought it. Could not have been easier.

I've only needed to drop off 2 drivers @ the local Red Service Center.
Both times, they just looked at the serial - product date/vs warranty years on tool and off it went for repair.

it should not matter where i bought it. it has a serial number. it should be warrantied for a certain time period, no matter how many people owned it.

if they are only selling to authorized dealers, and i didnt buy it there, their issue is not with me, it is with their authorized dealer who is not abiding by the terms of their contract. they should know which serial numbers went where, so they could fix the issue if they wanted.

i dislike it when companies try to weasel out of their obligations. people **** on sears for various reasons, but i bring in a craftsman tool to replace under their warranty, they just replace it. (this may change now that they dont own craftsman anymore, but it hasn't yet. . . . . )

Has anyone else had an issue with the smaller sized Milwaukee hammer drill bits.. At work we have a fairly new 3/8" in regular and sds form, both tips broke off them.. I just stopped and bought 3 more of the sds, and like 8 of the Bosch standard chuck 3/8" bits. Guy at work got mad that I took his bit out and threw cause it just danced around instead of actually making a hole.

I use the the MX4 SDS+ bits and they're incredible...chew threw everything, even granite. No tip breakage yet.

I've never seen them, but I believe Milwaukee offers a replacement clear lens for the radius light that makes a big increase in output.. just my opinion, but Milwaukee should have offered a tripod stand for that light as an accessory.. that light on a nice 6' tripod would be a great piece of equipment imo

I'm thinking of getting that Rigid tripod and mounting the 2360 Rover to it with some creativity. Seems like a very versatile and practical solution (in my head at least haha).

That rig + the new M18 Rover...should be an awesome lighting rig for a DIY'er. Can't wait for the new M18 Rover ha

You can leave that field blank or put N/A. If you do that, they'll just look at the serial # to see if it's within the warranty period. I asked them (Milwaukee) this out of curiosity and that's what they told me.

If u want, u can see if Craftsman still has those 56" tripods they sell separately.. a thin wooden or composite platform screwed onto the top of that, and some heavy duty Velcro on the bottom of the radius light should make a solid mount for it.

Those tripods were like $15 or $20...

Maybe if some more time passes and I still can't find a better deal I'll fire on that but it is a little high to me too. I was hoping to snag it in the 130-140$ range. Unless of course Milwaukee has a spy reading this thread and wants to send one over to test that would save my wallet...

Thanks, part is 44-06-0005, $32 from Milwaukee. But my question is why do they have 2 lenses and why not include both. Grrr

Supposedly the clear lens boosts output from 4400 to 6700 lumens, damn it I want it

Yup $160-170 max with freebie or bust. The spy should also notice my massive light collection and send me a complimentary one also.

If your date code is within 5 years don't bother providing proof of purchase. Easily deciphered from serial #

I've been cutting a lot of firewood. The dead standing pinions here are very limby so I use my 40V brushless Ryobi chainsaw for all the limbing. Plus I cut up the limbs and use 80-90% of them; never understood those who discard limbs as big as my forearm and just go for the big rounds, but I digress.

Anyway I have five 2.6ah batts and one 3.0. Not uncommon for me to run thru all six batteries.

Can't wait for the Milwaukee but they need to release it in the summer of 2018. If they go with the fall release that they're so fond of with new products it'll be too late for most consumers to adopt it. Consider most consumers aren't addicts like us and won't even know it exists until they stumble upon it in HD.

I bet I use a battery chainsaw more than any other user on this board and have permission to cut on thousands of acres right out my front door.

I wish Milwaukee would let me be a product tester for 'em on the chainsaw, I'd gladly sign an NDA and anything else they wanted.

And yeah I have a Stihl MS180 and 270C but the cordless Ryobi is just so damn handy for a great deal of what I do.

Ryobi offers 5.0 40V's but I think I'll just wait for Milwaukee rather than buy more Ryobi batteries.

Thanks. Bought the circular saw and axe blade. Circular saw worked great. Been wanting one for a while now this was more of an excuse than anything else. Didn't even need the Sawsall. I use the torch blades normally.and am familiar with them. Didn't know about the axe though looks cool can't wait to try it out. Thanks again for recommendation.

i've never toyed around with any of the tower lights at homers...
My V2 light just came in. Holy hell, I thought they shipped the wrong one and the one that was delivered had a battery kit with it.

LOL, it was just the bare tool that I ordered. It's got some weight on it, I suppose for stability.

Me wonders how does the pumpkin light fare. Off to check out the weight specs

Harbor freight has the same ratchet for $15.

and tekton, and gearwrench, and probably 18 other "manufacturers".

but they dont have the red on the handles and the white scrawl.

interestingly enough, my interactions with Tekton have been a lot easier than my interactions with Apex(Gearwrench). While both have "lifetime" warranties, Tekton just replaces, Apex questions where i bought it, how long i have had it, and then puts me on hold while they ask a supervisor what my options are.

Bought a M12 Drill driver, 2403-20, the transmission won't shift. The selector moves, but does not change gears. This is the second M12 tool with transmission problems I've had, new in box. The first was the M12 screwdriver where the transmission would lock up, made a thread about that. I hope the new M12 drills fix these issues.

I have other Milwaukee tools that are great, the M12 drill transmission platform seems to be bugged.

I believe you, but in all honesty I don't think I've heard anyone complain about those issues on here before. I suggest you reach out to Milwaukee, either through customer service, or message them on Facebook. You might be surprised how well they try to take care of their customers..
