Socket. They are square on the bottom so they don't roll around. You could probably put a open end wrench around the square as well for some odd situation.

I have 2 Home Depot locally and they are the worst I have ever seen. I wonder if the wrenches will be at either store. I think the socket set will be.

However I do not know if free shipping qualifies for that order since it's exactly $199. I bought one with the Gen 2 high torque impact.

I believe you, but in all honesty I don't think I've heard anyone complain about those issues on here before. I suggest you reach out to Milwaukee, either through customer service, or message them on Facebook. You might be surprised how well they try to take care of their customers..

I'm returning it for store credit and getting another, quicker than waiting weeks for a repair facility, though I don't have experience with Milwaukee's repair process (maybe they're faster?). Also yeah, I seem to have bad luck with M12. Lastly I'm not one of those that bashes tools for fun, there's a rainbow of power tool brands in my garage.

I think the primary purpose of the square end was to put a wrench on it, secondary I guess to not roll lol. Tool guy covered it way back when they came out I believe.

Still surprised the Milwaukee hammers have not shown up in my HDs, let alone the socket sets. Plus no promos on either! The redstick levels had promos...

For those that have comparison real world usage, how does the new blower COMPARE to the dewalt 40V - runtime aside....

FWIW, my yellow tools are the vac, tile saw, and a good lineup of their OPE - blower, hedge, pole hedge, weedwacker and chainsaw. It's been nice not smelling like gas for the last 2 years...

I'm hoping for an M18 chainsaw. I'd switch both my string trimmer and chainsaw over to cordless. A pole saw would be nice, too.

I'd bet it's coming or at least being considered. DeWalt briefly debuted a FlexVolt mower. I believe it was mentioned in DeWalt media coverage at Toolguyd. They said something to the effect that DeWalt quickly whisked it away and wouldn't talk about it.

I'm hoping for an M18 chainsaw. I'd switch both my string trimmer and chainsaw over to cordless. A pole saw would be nice, too.

Milwaukee has confirmed a chainsaw in '18. As I said it damn well better be this next summer 'cause if they stick w their typical fall release date they can plan on near zero sales until the the fall of '19.

I bought one last year. Its a pretty nice and durable jacket. I am in NH where it gets pretty cold but not like some parts of the northern midwest. I don't use the battery all the time because its a warm jacket to start with and usually when I am outside, I am moving around rather than standing around.

That was my thought when I put it on. I will probably use the battery when I'm sitting still at fall baseball games or in the car. My girlfriend got me the power cord to hook up to 12v cig plug.

For $17, the 2 pack of 2.5 amp hr batteries off eBay would be a good investment. Mine got delivered today.. have to wait til I get home to see them.

And yes.. in NO way will I be spending $70 for that socket set.. no.. just no... $35 I'd be in, but at $70 Milwaukee can blow me on that one..

I have 3 3 amp hr Milwaukee batteries I got last year with a rebate.

This thread is getting expensive! I have been holding out on the cordless trimmer. Is model available now built to accept attachments in the future? If it is, I'm thinking next year a trimmer and chain saw would be nice! And a blower... and... and...

I've got the deep cut corded on a version 4 swag table and a harbor freight step pedal and it's definitely worth it. Before that I was using a chop saw. Cleaner cuts, less noise and particle disbursement.

Typical TTI....they make one under the Ryobi brand, using 18V Ryobi batteries.

But not Milwaukee, of course.

I have a few Ryobi batteries hanging around just for those "one-off" type tools...oscillating multitool (before Milwaukee came out with theirs), glue gun, right angle drill (dont need Milwaukee since I only needed it twice), etc.

I love the quality of my red stuff, but when I need a tool that I dont anticipate using much and I need it in the middle of a project, Ryobi is only a Home Depot trip away.

I was told by a knowledgable person at Milwaukee that the attachments would be compatible with the current string trimmer. But someone else mentioned that an updated model was required. Only time will tell which statement is true. I cant imagine they realease it then need a new version to accept attachmemts which were in the works when it came out. That would only piss off everyone!

Third item is the "revolutionary" Milwaukee "square" socket, that helps avoid them from rolling away and maybe even use a wrench on them.

Is the New Gen 2 high torque impact the most powerful half-inch in battery and pneumatic currently out? I know it won't be that way for long if it is, but that is pretty sweet that cordless now surpasses all pneumatic in power.

As far as those aftermarket "power extra" m12 batteries, as far as I can tell, the battery case is identical to the original M12 in every way. I'm tempted to crack it open just to see what batteries are inside, but it will probably destroy the thing. It fits inside the tools perfectly though.

yeah you can remove it for sure, but not in a way that it is easy to put attachments to it.
