I have a sneaking suspicion that they may be the same hoodie as the 3in1 ripstop hoodie, without the heating element. Mind you, that's a total shot in the dark, but the "new" non heated jackets are based off those. Hell, the non hooded gridiron jackets is identical to the jacket in the ripstop kit..

Just saw this Milwaukee video of the new Mud Mixer on FB, didn't realize it had a keyed chuck. In the comments people were asking about using it as a drill, I'm curious now, because it does look pretty beefy. Might tear your arm off though depending on how much torque this thing has 421a83fe697380bc33e619fb8c1d8774.png

Gotta mention 1 thing.. I'm not "overly" impressed with the m12 fuel drill and impact driver.. they way people talked em up I guess I had unreal expectations. I haven't used them a lot, but I've had the overload kick in on both a few times. They definitely aren't older 18v nicad replacements..

Speaking of, I'd LOVE to see a comparison video of say dewalt's 18v nicad against a new m18 fuel drill.. just to see how wide the margin is...

Anyway - Milwaukee wrench video review -

Interesting I haven't experienced the overload feature kicking in much on M12 Fuel drill much though it does cut out drilling with large spades bits but the older brushed M12 drill I have just cuts out ridiculously too easy even driving deck screws.

Really the impact too? I have ran loads of drywall deck screws M12 impacts no problems

What kind of work jobs are doing with them KC

So keep seeing the COP Tool ad for the new Fuel sawzall

https://www.ohiopowertool.com/p-17753-milwaukee-m18-fuel-hackzall-reciprocating-saw-2719-20.aspx

Get a good 20% off of that bare tool price and not much more than the original brushed M18 version! [emoji106]
I am excited about that one....I want it for cutting limbs while up in a tree. I have tree climbing gear but haven't had the opportunity to do much cutting yet. I think that looks great for not hauling a chainsaw up into the tree at least untill I get a good climbing saw. No way I hauling my Husky 465 Rancher up there lol. Plus for as much as I use my current c3 recip saw that will probably completely replace it.

Those look like a solid set of wrenches. If I didn't already have Snappy FDP, I would probably get these as my back up set. Maybe they'll release a smooth jaw open end eventually.

I like that channel and their reviews, but they seemed overly critical, and didn't really sound like they knew what they're talking about. How many real mechanics own black wrenches/sockets besides impacts. It would be a pain to find when dropped. Even other trades working in dark, dirty environments. Seemed like they really nit picked these. They acted like the teeth in the jaw was a huge nuisance, if people hated them so much I don't think every brand would be releasing their form of Max Bite or w/e. Also I use my open end WAY more then 10% of the time. If I'm grabbing a combo wrench it's because I can't fit a socket/rat wrench/impact and I need an open end.

For a Power Tool company's first foray into mechanics hand tools, I think they did a nice job. I have a few dewalt hand tools, and while they aren't bad, these seem to be higher quality, but I could be wrong.

I'm really looking at getting that fuel 1/2" mid-torque impact to go along with my brushed 1/2" impact.. which will probably replace it all together.

Think of the insert adapters like 1" phillips/torx bits. You need a hex shank holder for them for most tools. They will fit directly into the RA impact drivers (I have them), but they don't lock in. They will work in a pinch and I'm sure they'd be worth it at that point. The hex shank adapters (second ones you posted) will fit into any 1/4" shank impact driver, which is what 99.9% of impact drivers are.

Shorter story: you probably want the ones in the second link.

The shorter ones will not be retained in an impact style chuck. I tried. I had to grind groves in mine, and it still doesn’t hold the best.

Something to consider, the mid torque wouldn't be very much stronger than what you have now, just a little smaller. You could always get the high torque which would have about 3X as much torque as what you're running now. Then maybe add a 3/8" for tight spots/small stuff? Or get the 3/8" first then eventually the high torque. Just throwing it out there, mid torque is awesome just very similar to the brushed 1/2" in spec

Well I was kinda looking at it size wise which is nice btw the brushed version when they list the torque is that for removing and fastening? I do have the hi-torque on my wish list this year

I think on those models it's both, now they advertise "Nut Busting Torque", and the mechanism is designed to have higher torque In reverse, on older models I think it was the same forward & reverse but I'm not positive.

am i the only one who finds the battery placement on this tool interesting?

i understand that it makes sense based on the way the tool is used, keep the weight in line with the action. putting it there on a drill would make the head bulkier, and not necessarily add to the weight helping the action, but . . . . . i must admit it makes me think about how the tools are designed . . . . .

My 1/4" fuel ratchet was delivered on Saturday. I got the bare tool from Acme for $140 shipped. I used it yesterday while I was working on the Jeep and it definitely has more power than the old 3/8" version and is much faster. The only thing I don't like about it is the body is larger. It's not a deal breaker, but not quite as comfortable to hold as the old one. I have more work to do on it this week, so I should get quite a bit of work out of it.

Alot of people seem unhappy with the size of the new ones, I don't think it's that big of a deal. I mean they doubled the power, the heads on the old ones were puny which was probably why they stripped out so often. I'll take the power over a slight size increase any day. I have a feeling the mechanisms in these will be more durable as well

For me the size is not really too much of an issue. They seem like they're pretty decent size as in not too big not too small. The only thing that gets me worried with the quarter inch model is that I'm going to put too much force on it and strip it out. I will likely mostly just use the 3/8 in. One thing I did notice is that the charge level of the battery really affects the speed and torque of this new Ratchet. Much more so than most of the other fuel Milwaukee tools I have.

No, which is really dumb. I believe the kit comes with 49-80-0292 and 49-80-0297. There's an assortment with 4 items including those two as 49-80-0300. The parts manual lists about 10 attachments for it total.

I'm excited to see if the nozzle of my SMD hot air rework station is the same diameter, though I don't think it is... because I could use some of those attachments between them. (It gets MUUUUUUCH hotter than the M18.)

I got mine today. My M12 stapler was supposed to come as well, but the tracking disappeared and it is now MIA. Tried it on some heat shrink and it works well.

Future tool, a M12 digital caliper. Yeah its a waste and would be too large but then I would always have a M12 battery for it instead of mine always having the button cell batteries being dead everytime I go to use it.

Sure that works. Really hoping that line isnt just gonna be lights, prolly no word on M1 tools until close to NPS2018
then wouldn't you want one that used one of those new USB chargeable batteries they introduced for the pen light?

is there any word about them introducing other things that use those power packs?

Pen light uses AAA batteries, only the 475 lumen headlamp, rover and flashlight currently use the new packs.

The Milwaukee pen light is too small... I lost mine like 4 days after I got it. :( I tore apart the whole house, the garage, the lab, my truck looking for the damned thing.

If only it were a One-Key™ penlight! Then I could locate it!

Also over the weekend I discovered my local Farm and Fleet finally got all the packout stuff in stock! I'm very impressed with the build quality of it all. It is super stout. I really wish I had any justification at all to grab some but I just have no need for it. I could maybe move all my electronics stuff into a packout large toolbox but the 7$ Plano box from Menards is really doing just fine...

This was an idea of my GF's... She wanted to see if you could carry one of the small sorter bin packouts on the bottom of the tool bag and it does work and is comfortable. If you just wanted to bring some drivers and screws somewhere it seems like it might be a good fit. She wants a Milwaukee packout tool bag to replace her current crochet bag. They even have spots for all her different hooks (the screwdriver holders)!
