I have the heat gun coming today, but I couldn't wait to get my Milwaukee fix so I popped down to HD and picked up the USB rechargeable headlamp. They've had it in since 10/2 and it was still in the overhead.

It's a lot heavier than the Streamlight it's potentially replacing, but it's pretty comfortable and fits better in my tool bag.

I really want to have an extra battery on hand. The external charger and spare battery go for $40. Does anyone else think it makes more sense just to buy a second light for $20 more?

I think the charging kit is a nice to have so you can charge battery out of device.

Absolutely, what I'm getting at though is that with a second light, you're getting another battery, and essentially another charger also, then when it's time to switch there's no futzing around swapping batteries. You get the same functionality as the external charger, but also a second light.

Still debating on weather or not to pick up the m18 rocket light for 200 with free 5 amp battery before the sale goes off the end of the month. I have a couple corded led work lights so don't really need it. But it would be nice for certain things like working in driveway or loading up trailer or smaller jobs. It would have been great when doing more construction work but after moving out of state I don't do much anymore. Hate to pass up the free battery deal but at the same time I don't really need anymore batteries. Have two 9 amp and think 6 five amps so don't really need another one but it is a free battery. Lol. Want so many other m18/12 tools like sds drill, heat gun, mini buffer, soldering gun, and the list goes on. But the rocket light comes with free battery....

I debated returning my rocket light right after I got it because I didn't realize how big it was... Boy am I glad I kept it. Such a useful light for almost every project I do around the house now.

Highly recommend it.

YMMV but there are still stores with the rocket light with the FREE 5.0 battery AND charger inside the box. Clearly labeled too. That along with the promo. You get 2 5.0 and charger for $199.

They sell the external charger or kit with battery. But none of the lights come with that external charger tube do they?

I've been waiting for a cordless heat gun for years, most times I only need it for one or two splices. So now I've jumped on the Milwaukee bandwagon. Ordered the heat gun, the promo pack of 9.0 batteries/charger and the 18v wet/dry vac (0880-20).

Where'd you order the 9.0 kit? I was gonna order one but I thought all those 2 battery kits were gone

Two good deals over at CPO

M12 Fuel kit 2597-$25 off, 20% off with accessory, plus freebie vac, lantern, speaker or 2 battery pack. Works out to be $163 with accessory cost.

M18 Rocket2 kit-$100 off plus free 9.0. Kit comes with 9.0 and the bag, $450 with two 9s and bag is a good deal.

Awesome deal on both. I just purchased the 2597-22 from HD and was pissed. But then I realized I paid $229 with the 2-pack of batteries, and I get a 11% rebate from the Menards PM... so just about the same deal.

You got the best vacuum IMO

I just ordered an 0880 for my favorite non-profit. I had to chuckle as it still has a sticker saying you can use ONLY the *-1815 or *-1828 batteries, which are the original compact (1.5ah) and XC (3.0ah). I’d say it’s because that’s ALL that existed when that sticker was printed. 4.0, 5.0, 6.0 and 9.0 hadn’t even been conceived yet.

9.0s do fit in these vacs which is great ‘cause they’re kinda battery hogs and performance does suffer as voltage drops.

Nope, you shelled over $40 more. Return it and order from CPO lol

If you order it online, you can get the package that come with the free 5.0 and a dual charger too.. same price, $199.

Edit - nope, scratch that. They must have just removed it.. was online 2 weeks ago..

Damn these packages are tough to open.... Perfect charging spot except metal stuff in there sticks to the light.

Someone needs to open the M1 lights and report what cell they used!

Holy cow that little M1 stick light is bright, lumens are supposedly lower than M12 stick but I swear it is as bright and its beam is wider to boot.

Don't know about these, but rumor has it Milwaukee uses their own chemical recipe on the cells in the m18 packs.. made by either Samsung or LG if I remember right.

And yea, the packages are just getting stupid now.. people will be cutting themselves wrestling with these things.

Actually the M1 is more lumens, had numbers wromg in memory. Wouldnt be surprised if the M12 is discontinued.

Three M1 stick lights would equal one M12 underhood and be cheaper lol.

I started calling the M1 since theres a diff M4 platform, they have no "M" label. Its the 2112-21 redlithium usb rover stick light.

Yeah but its so cool.... Gotta call the B&M its been 2 weeks and my underhood aint in yet wtf...

It is definitely cool, I'd definitely like one, but I don't "need" one so the only thing that has really kept me back is the price.

I wish they made one for M18 batteries as I have so many of them - and it'd be nice to get more than 4 hours at full tilt, or even just to not totally roast a whole battery in a single use. But much like the Fuel jigsaw, it'll never happen...

Got to play with the pen light today. Wasn't impress. I'll wait till it's $4-$6 then maybe I'll get it for the collection.

Yeah it is cheaper. But with tax you end up saving not much. This is at the fasteners tool outlet. They tend to be a few bucks cheaper on all Milwaukee stuff.

They got all the new stuff in. So got to check them out.

You have to compare the pen light to the OTHER pen lights on the market. It's not meant to be insanely bright. It's only an inspection light.. don't judge it against a full blown flashlight.

Exactly. I carry a pen light in my shirt pocket all day and use it several times a day. I think it's great. It's not as bright as a big flashlight but that's the point, I'm not carrying around a big flashlight all day

Odds we will see 36v M18 tools at NPS 18? I cant imagine they wont go there, already behind, and even Hitachi has it now. Noticed the EGO 2 battery backpack blower, 600+ cfm but only 145mph, they all are moving one number up and other down. Gimme a two M18 battery backpack blower at 600cfm and 200mph damn it, then a two M18 mower, and six M18 tractor.... I have plenty of batteries
