I know I won't shut up about these metal saws, but they continue to blow me away. I have a project at work where I needed to cut several pieces of 3/8" plate so I'm using the old saw till my new one shows up friday. I could use the plasma cutter sure, but this thing is such a joy to use and the cut quality is astounding. Rips right through it no problem. I've been using the same 9.0 since 8am and still have 3 bars, after making about 8 cuts this length. No cleanup required (besides all the shavings this thing throws).

The flashlight shouldn't be a power hungry tool. A 6.0 for that would be Overkill imo unless you really need that to run for hours and hours.. the original larger sized 3.0 xc pack for that would still give ya alot of runtime and the flat bottom pack. I think home Depot usually sells a 2 pack of the bigger 3.0 batteries for like $69 after black Friday

Thanks for the advice and ill watch for the flat bottom 3.0s to go onsale but, first I'll see how much I end up actually using it. I try to carry the smallest and least amount of tools on me daily and this light is far from small but it was free.

The start of my milwaukee addiction has began, today I received my 2453-22 kit. (m12 1/4 impact with two 2.0 batteries and it came with a free 2353-20 led spotlight.) Next on the list is some bigger batteries and then the fuel 1/4 and 3/8 rachets.

I love the 2453 impact driver. Really potent and compact for what it is.

6.0’s are about $61 shipped on Amazon right now. Not bad

I truly used my M12 Fuel Hackzall yesterday to cut some 2.25” exhaust pipe on an ‘80 K1500. Very impressed, as others have said the Fuel version of this tool is way better than the brushed.

I did have a problem w the locking blade mechanism not always wanting to twist closed enough to hold the blade, though. I found if I forced the shank of the blade all the way in and deliberately twisted the collar closed it seemed to work.

Also the 6.0 kept trying to slide out from all the vicious reciprocating action.

The only M12 batteries anyone should want is compact 3.0 or xc 6.0. the 6.0 is the best battery of all M12/18s, lasts forever in any M12 tool.

Back in the spring deals, especially with my special deals I got 9 6.0s for about $185 total cost, sold 4 for $175, got rid of all other XCs in my collection.

Hopefully there will be some good 6.0 deals for holidays. Dont waste $ on the old M12 XC or 4.0.

I don't see the point in this when you can get the 6.0 for $50 unless you just want 2 batteries.

I still really want to find some deals on the compact 3.0's, but they are more than the 6.0's anywhere I have seen.

Me too, about 12 of them. I think they are being held back until all 2.0s are gone, similiarly M18 6s until all 4.0 or 5.0 are gone.

You're going to love that impact. Its become my go-to for everything. I started my Milwaukee Addiction with the M18 line, but find myself using the M12 more when I reach for stuff.

I don't see the point in this when you can get the 6.0 for $50 unless you just want 2 batteries.

Guess it depends on the type of use. In that case I don't see a point in buying a 6.0 for a hand held spotlight. It would make more sense (in my eyes) to get 2 smaller batteries, and be able to power another tool. It's not like it's a worklight that might be set up and left running for 8 hours. If that light isn't in your hand, it's probably not being used. 6.0 on the underhood light for a pro mechanic, that makes more sense..

Can't always just compare price to amp hours.. it's like"putting all your eggs in one basket". Plus there's the convenience factor of not having to swap batteries back and forth between tools. Most people aren't running batteries down till their completely dead every time they use a tool. Some people can put a 4.0 in a ratchet and use it at work for a week before the battery dies.

The spot light has a 4 hour runtime on high, 8 hours on low with constant use just using a 4.0 battery.. that's a LONG time for that kind of light. Even on low that light is still bright because it's a narrow spot light instead of being a wide area flood light. All 400 lumens on low are concentrated into a much smaller area compared to the other Milwaukee lights.. that's where lumens vs lux becomes relevant.

I'm aware I'm probably the only person on the thread that uses the 7/16 hex drive version of the high torque impact, but I found a cheap adapter (7/16 hex to 1/2" square) that actually uses ball retention for the sockets over the more popular pin lock for that style adapter.. don't use true pin locks on chrome sockets if that's all you have around. trust me, it's not fun trying to get them off

I'll post the eBay link..

Here's a 6" long one, $14 shipped http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=253100797462

Believe this one is 2 1/8", picture does not reflect product..
I had a hard time finding these but finally ordered them for the occasional oddball need at work. If you google the apex part number you can find other sellers, but beware of shipping.. I got a $15 shipping quote for a 2" long piece of metal from another supplier.
https://www.opentip.com/product.php?products_id=3596424

Actual product pic - https://apexbits.com/ex-501-b-2-apex-hex-power-drive-extension-with-1-2-male-square.aspx

The 7.25 fuel miter saw is out now I guess.. just got an email..

Absolutely! I love the metal saw. I've got the new Fuel version and use it for electrical work. It's all I use to cut conduit and strut.

You will love the Fuel version.

Is this a new version of the 18v wet dry vac? It doesn't match the pics on the Milwaukee site. It just came today.

Yes the built in hose storage is nice. Plenty of space for the 9.0 amp battery as well.

does the old one have room for a 9AH battery? that one looks like it does.

unfortunately they dont appear to have varied the part number, so it will be hard to tell. does the box look different?

I think the new one signals the end of a V version as the old model ran both.

I see the new design as positive and negative. Interesting the box only shows 2.0, 5.0, 9.0 batteries, guess those will be around a while, end is near for 1.5, XC 3.0, and 4.0?!?! Does box specify CFM?
I wonder if they will update the v28 version... if so I would buy a new one.

Yes the old version has room for a 9.0. It also looks like the new version is no longer compatible with the 28v batteries

Finally picked up the underhood, B&M took almost 2.5 week to get, final cost of the kit was $160 after tax. Interesting it is now crossed out on the flyer from the deal.

The light is about the size I expected but the mount is huge especially the pads on the end. The rings which hold the light sit in a rail but they are screwed in?!?! You can unscrew them to slide the rings but with light insertrd it cant go far but then you would have to tighten screw into backing. How are these not secured by adjustable clamps.

The light performance is good, compared to M12 Rover flood and M12 stick plus new usb stick. I cant believe its not brighter with 36 LEDs.

Its cool, useful, but its really not worth $200, maybe $150 max, the giant mount is why it its so expensive, 100 light 100 mount, surprised they dont sell the light by itself.

You got the best vacuum IMO

I just ordered an 0880 for my favorite non-profit. I had to chuckle as it still has a sticker saying you can use ONLY the *-1815 or *-1828 batteries, which are the original compact (1.5ah) and XC (3.0ah). I’d say it’s because that’s ALL that existed when that sticker was printed. 4.0, 5.0, 6.0 and 9.0 hadn’t even been conceived yet.

9.0s do fit in these vacs which is great ‘cause they’re kinda battery hogs and performance does suffer as voltage drops.

Yes. Incidentally the 0880 I just received came from Acme

I'm sold.

Did you order the 2782-20?

I hope to find some deals on Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I want a 3/8" FUEL ratchet, the heat gun, the soldering iron and now the 2782-20. Among many others.

Under the lid hose storage is nice on the revised vac The old side pocket to loop up the hose in wasn't all that great a way of storing it.

Still would like to see wheels on that vac so you can drag it around on a job by the hose. :D

Guess getting rid of the older style battery slot is a good thing a calculated risk, Does anyone here have any of those types :headscrat

(I remember I found a virtually brand new circ saw at flea mkt once and almost bought it, good thing I checked on the battery first)

Its like rated 200 lumens higher than a M12 Rover light right?

Does spread the light out more evenly I think , and I agree $200 is a big chunk of change for it. Still way better than the HF! :lol_hitti

Yep, should be here Sat or Mon. Honestly I'd be ok with just the non fuel version, but like I said I bought mine used and noticed the guide is bent, making all my cuts beveled slightly. Tried straightening it and made it worse lol. I do a lot of metalworking so I'm excited to see what the Fuel is capable of.

You're right. Just got into work and looked at mine and it is the slot for the older V18 batteries.

Yeah but its spread out cause the led strip is like 3ft long. They should of used bigger leds and have more than 2 power settimgs. Seems they are always tryimg to balance run time and lumens, just make it as powerful as you can with at least 3 power settings and let mr figure out how many batteries I need for the job.

Would not be surprised if the mount is not updated in next 1-2 years. Also not sure if anyone would buy light by itself for say $125, but if you lose or break light then you replace and now have a second useless mount.

Agreed x2, loving the new version. My "old" one still works great though.

I wonder if there are any other differences "under the hood" other than the obvious design changes...
That's what I'm wondering, that design has been the same since the M18 line came out hasn't it? In 5 years I'm sure there's some small things that they could've done to make it more efficient/ stronger. Someone should test the runtime. It'd be easy enough, next time you go to clean out the car just start a timer on your phone.

Funny Milwaukee site still has old pics and description. Maybe the one posted is a fake lol. Will have to look at Rigid one at HD, wonder if they share same design now.
