Shoot, I've been watching for the gen 2 2553 impact driver to be released and I see they have them on eBay, wasn't there this morning. Ordering now!

I was thinking about picking up the 1/4" impact wrench 2452 but I think ill just get this instead, it's almost an inch shorter [which with a socket adapter makes them about even] but it has the 4 modes so I can use it in low like I would the 2452 AND have another impact driver. 110ftlbs of torque In that little thing!! Also in another Facebook group, a tool dealer has the 1/2" Fuel Ratchet for $160, may be picking that up as well. Then all i need is the soldering iron... and a 2nd grinder... then boots for my ratchets..

Damn you Milwaukee..

1/2" fuel ratchet -21 kit with boot and 1/2" x 3/8" adapter [emoji12]

Very nice! Ive been using this same kit since Xmas professionally and my only complaint Is the weak battery life. I bought 2 extra batteries so it’s not an issue but I’m considering getting the bigger battery.

Got plenty of the compact batteries. I was considering picking up a few 6.0s but I'll have to wait and see. I got this to use instead of my gen 1 3/8" in some tight spaces but this thing is huge.

I don’t want to be here just to speculate or make rumours, but has anyone heard of any updates coming for the m18 3/8” impact?

I am in serious need of a new one, but really feel like there should be an update in the works, with the recent redesign of the 1/2” high torque and new 1/2” mid torque models.

I am really hoping for a 250-300 ft/lb model, compete with IR a bit better. If there is something coming soonish I would try to wait it out...

There is already a gen 2 m18 3/8 impact. Too soon for a gen 3. I would think a gen 2 m12 3/8 impact would be in the works since the new impact driver is now out.

There is ABSOLUTELY no info or rumors about this happening, but I'd have to GUESS that at some point a 3/8" mid torque model will be announced, especially since IR has something like that.

Speaking of impacts, tomorrow im sending a text to this guy that has all my fuel impacts and m12 ratchet. I told him to use them for a bit and try them out, and it's gotta be close to 2 months or longer now since I've seen these things. Especially now since he's opened a shop up 3 days a week and he's trying to grow his own business. I don't need $800 in tools being returned covered in grease.

I tried to hold out for a gen 3 3/8 impact, but couldn't do so for long. I got the gen 2 and am happy i did. It is now my go-to impact. I do wish it had 300 ft-lbs of torque, but it is good enough as is.

I’m still waiting for the Gen 2 high torque 3/4” impact to be released (with no one key).....

I kinda wanted an M12 Fuel 1/4" hex impact driver, because I figured it would be smaller than my M18 Fuel driver, but where it counts to me, in the front to back length, but it was not. It didn't really weight that much less to me, either.

Is the new gen 2 M12 fuel 1/4" hex driver (2553) shorter than the M18 fuel hex driver (2753)?

I think the 2nd Generation M12 is 5.1" while the M18 2753 is 5.25".

The Surge hydraulic impact driver a hair shorter than both at 5". The Surge is a bit heavier than the 2753, however.

While I agree that what counts is front to back length, I also think the distance the nose is in front of the trigger matters a lot and it looks like the new M12 is really compact in that area. I also like how the M12 angles up.

I have a 5" long impact driver with no angle and sometimes when driving screws at an angle I have to turn the driver to the side for clearance. This is a good problem to have but I do think it would be reduced with the new M12.

Sorry I haven't been around for a while. I am sure everyone was beside themselves wondering where I went. Lol. Don't worry I read all the posts. It is so weird wanting to reply to something but it is 200 replies ago lol. Anyway I was at HD and they had this at 199 in the rack with the light only ones. I thought it was the 9 and the rapid so I thought I had a dacan23 style deal...it is actually a 5 and a regular charger. Did I get a poor deal or just a mediocre deal.8fa2c24a19e7b66af2a1c94dc935e7e4.jpg

They where $125.00 2-3 months ago before the holiday/Black Friday sales.

Currently you can buy they same kit you found and get either the miter saw/m18 fuel kit/OK kit and it qualifies for the "free" promo tool that ends this week since it's the same sku.

Knocked my USB Rover stick in a drain pan of coolant, wipped it off, and stuck it back where I had it and continued to work. Noticed some coolant where it was and **** its wet inside but still working. Had been using a while and about 20 min later I think the battery died. While later opened the battery compartment and was wet in there, dried it off. Currently air drying before I recharge and see if it still works. Its only IP54, I hope its not fried.

So I haven't used it as a heat gun, but the m18 heat gun is pretty great at stoking the fire in the wood burning fireplace in my living room. Lol - it's the perfect flow of air for that.

Doing some engineering in reverse. Will make a big writeup and/or video with what I find. Hopefully, we will learn everything there is to know about the M12 system.
Looking forward to it!
I use M12 and? 18 for some LED trouble light projects. Was wondering how they work, and what to look out for.

ended up buying the M18 fan. First bought the Ryobi but didn't like the fact it only had 2 speed settings. The M18 fan is a nice unit, a little pricey but built like a tank.

Should be getting my new 2553 m12 impact driver gen 2 in the next day or 2. Will try it out and report back. Then ill finally get my last ratchet, the 1/2" Fuel. Been using the 1/4" non fuel and my fuel 3/8" like crazy so I'm excited to test the limits of the 1/2"

I LOVE my fan. Great in the garage, in the winter I use it in the house when it gets too hot. Use it for camping alot too.

Just got another Milwaukee tool in the mail today.
Kit #48-59-1890PS.
The M18 2720 Fuel Sawzall with rapid charger and 9.0 battery.
This will replace my 18v dewalt.

Norte, nice! I bought the same kit last year. It's very good for a cordless & good value considering the bundled battery. I was even happier w/ the 2731 7 1/4" saw. Surprisingly "quiet" compared to a corded saw & goes right through cedar. The M18 convenience factor is outstanding.

I love my 2731 as well. I got it in the same kit about two months ago. It has plowed through everything I've thrown at it with better power and speed than my old corded circular.

This M12/M18 platform's cordless convenience has got me hooked so much so that I'm planning out what I'm going to add and which corded tools I'm going to replace next .

How many of you guys have used the fake knock-off M12 batteries that are all over Amazon? Would be nice to have some extras
I have 3.
A 2.5, 3.0, and a 5.0 can't really compare.
Haven't used them to the end of charge cycle yet. So far I would do it again.
I will update if there are any problems.

I have used one before, worked fine but one of the clips that holds the battery to the tool broke so the battery tries to slide out now. Works fine otherwise (though it did break in a few months vs. real M12 stuff I've had for years and never broken one)

I honestly can't even why anyone needs those M12 knockoffs. Maybe it was just the timing I had but seemed Milwaukee was adding batteries as freebie offers on just about everything I bought

That said said I do use knockoffs on my old Makita stuff

I bought 4 or 5 knockoff m12s to keep in my lesser used tools so I can grab it and go. They've served me well for about 8 months now with no issues other than less than stellar runtime

All I've got is a drill/driver and 1/4 ratchet, each have their own battery. Wanted to get the bluetooth speaker and light to use at home.
