The case for the Rocket Tower. It's nice but sure is t1ggght as a 17yr old V.

I wish they had made it just 1 inch longer and wider. You need to shoehorn it into the case.
I think like the zipper won't last long as there is a certain amount of pull you also need to do to close the dang case back. Pros and Cons I suppose

Welp, I bit the bullet and bought the Dewalt cordless chainsaw... and the cordless framing nailer might be coming next. Looks like I am back to two platforms :(

Also drove to Milwaukee's service center next to their corporate headquarters. TONS of construction there... looks like they are expanding a ton! A friend of mine said they would fix my broken impacts right on the spot. No go, the service centers are basically shipping departments where they ship everything to a central location and then receive it again. You're better off doing the eService.

I will say they were very nice and did give me a free 3.0 for my troubles.

Why ??? The m18 chainsaw is about to be released...............

I've watched vids saying the dewalt 40v saw is actually stronger than the flexvolt.. far as nailers.. I still might have a hard time passing up on the cordless paslode nailers. They are just so nice and lighter even. I haven't used mine in a long time but the newer Lithium models do look real nice.

Do you have room for slotted pvc holders mounted vertically instead of horizontally? Another idea... once I used tools out of a tool trailer that had angled shelving with 4-5" dividers.

Yea - it's "possible" to make organizers, but honestly there's just no time.. I do way too much there as it is having to run a crew.. and it would be an awkward set up. We carry the m18 fuel hammer drill, impact driver, 7/16 hex drive version of the high torque fuel impact, fuel rotary hammer (bulldog style) brushed sawzall, and m18 search light.. I use nothing with a cord anymore...

Have 2 trucks with that set up, and some other stuff in the dodge promaster I use. M12 Fuel hammer drill, impact driver, hackzall, jigsaw, spotlight, and m18 compact fuel sds plus rotary hammer and compact vac.

Believe me I would LOVE to have like 3 days to just make stuff to keep things more organized, by there is just no time, and I'm not bent on devoting even more of my free time to work.. t's not uncommon for me to spend 4 or 5 hours a day just driving these days. I joke and say that I sit in traffic professionally sometimes.

The m18 chainsaw WILL be bought when that finally peaks its head up..

Same here. Sat on it last summer, and it sold out. Already have the hedge trimmer, so Id like to have the trimmer and blower.

Just wait a couple days it'll get there. It's listed as a special buy already with the regular price. I would guess within the week.

Any word on when Milwaukee plans to release the non-one key version of the new 3/4” drive impact?

From what I saw its just the old 3/4 with one key added.

Scratch that, I see what you're talking about. I hate how Milwaukee just drops these things with no announcements. That is now the world's most powerful cordless impact wrench, wouldn't you think they'd be marketing that? Anyways, I want one. I wouldn't mind the one key honestly, it'd be a nice feature

I want them to only make Fuel One Key models, stop making plain old Fuel tools, bring OK to M12 also!

I don't have any yellow. Well, I do to some degree - framer, brad and vac.

I do have their 40V line - and have had them for ?? 2 years or since while waiting for Milwaukee to come out. Love their articulating hedge trimmer ! And their blower, it's literally attached to my left hand as I use it at least once a week - right after I wash the cars

They should be because then the associated costs are spread out over greater numbers. I think the brushless line is a waste also. The should maybe only have brushless and one key. Why are brushed motors still being used in this day and age? I often have to educate customers on the differences in the 4 variations of M18 tools.

I hate when companies over complicate product offerings.
I'd be for this if the prices were brought down to the regular Fuel level. Otherwise, it's not worth the premium to me.

Hi. I'm wanting to redo a wooden bridge at my house. Age and water has started to deteriorate the wood, and I don't want someone stepping through it. I have M18 Fuel Impact gun, so figured I'd stick with Milwaukee M18 for a circular saw. Figured this was the best thread to get a recommendation :)

Was looking at the 2731. 7 1/4 inch brushless saw?

Look for the $250 or less kit with 9ah battery.
I like it. Nearly as fast cutting as a corded. I use the 9ah battery only. Much quieter than corded, almost dont need hearing protection. Battery lasts quite a while but i only took it down 2 bars at home not around coworkers [emoji2]. Weight is fine & 1-handed use at times is fine. Startup twist is minimal.

I have had the 2730, 6 1/2” version of the brushless, and it is so nice to work with. On top of that run time is so long that you can work hard all day with perhaps one battery swap or just recharge over lunch.

Others will comment on the tools, but damn, call the town. See if they'll let you install a conduit like up the street. Do away with the bridge and ditch - it would look so much nicer.

if you want nicer, how about something with an arch and railings? some nice yellow flowers on both sides of each end . . . . . . .

or is that not what you meant by "nicer"?

That would be nicer, but he'd still have the ditch. It's a ditch.

It doesn't look bad. It could look .... nicer.

I'd buy the blower/trimmer/9.0 package right now if available at that price

Agree 100%. I'm just getting into Milwaukee from Craftsman cordless, and the variations on the M18 platform- especially once you start comparison-shopping different bundles and the million different battery capacity options- are mind-boggling. I'll be all ready to hit checkout on what looks like a good deal only to realize that I was actually looking at a non-Fuel M18 brushless... :willy_nil

I have seen some talk on the internet about the Milwaukee grease gun having metric threads on the end of the hose, but the 2017 manufactured one that I just purchased has "standard" 1/8" NPT threads. I put a lock and lube coupler on the end and like it quite a bit.

Having switched from Craftsman myself, I'll take Milwaukee's "too many choices" over Craftsman's "not enough choices" or no choices. Milwaukee doesn't release a tool that never hits stores and then discontinues it in 6 months.

sure, but you got to admit that it would be easier if there was some structure to the model numbers.

F1234T could be fuel whatever 12 volt, while B1234E would be a brushless 18 volt version, or something like that. . . . . .

or even use the prefixes that they use on other stuff: 18-01-1234 and 12-04-1234

when you are trying to get into it, it is pretty overwhelming.

So gents, I've been wanting a 9ahr battery plus I've been wanting a cordless grinder. Today I found a deal at depot for the fuel grinder and battery for $250. Is that a good price or does this deal come along at a much better price from time to time.

Thanks, Cam

Cam, the IE CL has tool only for $130 and BNIB 9.0s for $80.

I don't know if they're still there but I see them pop up at least every other week. That's a little bit of money savings but you got to drive around and all that b*******.

Go to Pomona swap meet with me next weekend and I guarantee you'll get them for that price... along with a bunch of other stuff. I always feel up my wagon when I go there. LOL

If it's this weekend I can't pull that off. But next weekend I'm down, lets go.

Lol......:scared:

Pretty good. $200 trimmer + $150 blower = $350 before the batt.
Yea true. However I've been reading some reviews, and it seems like the Ego blower and string trimmer are just plain better all around. Since I already have an Ego mower, don't need the M18 9.0 battery, and the regular price of the Ego blower+trimmer is the same....I might just go that route. Blasphemy, I know.

The Milwaukee M18 Fuel blower (first gen was garbage) new model (second gen) is the same turd just more polished.
(YouTube reviews are available) yes it can clean a drive way and dust from concrete but so can the little m18 compact blower.

Ego blower still the best from my experience. I have both the first and second gen M18 fuel blowers...I am going back to EGO for the blower and wait for Milwaukee’s third gen lol

Milwaukee string trimmer in the other hand is awesome. No complaints. No job it hasn’t been able to tackle.

Thanks, I appreciate the unbiased review. The Milwaukee string trimmer does seem pretty good, but I figure if I'm going with the Ego blower, might as well go with the Ego string trimmer too.

i just bought one of these. any recommendations on what canisters of grease to buy or avoid?

I figure grease is like engine oil for the most part, lots of options and lots of opinions from various users. I use the regular NAPA wheel bearing grease in almost everything I grease (older big trucks, older pickup trucks, etc) I haven't ever needed any of the specialty greases, so I can't comment on those, but I feel like every NLGI #2 grease I've ever bought has been the same as every other.

what coupler did you get?

The Lock N Lube coupler.
