Hmm...

I had always assumed (yeah...) that the 3.0 and 4.0 stylized batteries were the aftermarket knock offs. Is that Milwaukee's branding for the non US markets?

Those of you with a dedicated workspace, how are you storing your cordless tools? My corded tools I like to keep in their cases along with their accessories. When it comes to the cordless the cases are a waste of space since I don't store batteries/chargers in them and tend to use the tools quite a bit more frequently.

This is what I have. Initially all of the M12 tools fit in the drawer and I had a couple of M18 sitting loose on the shelf below. The collection has grown...

I'd like to utilize the space to the right of the hardware storage drawers and I'm thinking a french cleat type system above the screwdrivers for the circular saws and sawzall. The workbench is unfortunately too deep to utilize the back wall and be able to reach them easily.

I've experimented with making a hanger for the M18 tools. The 2x2 is temporary, just needed something to test the aluminum piece with. This works with most of them as they can just hang by the battery mount. It's very stable, even with the very heavy 2763. The downside is the tools can't be stored with the batteries on them:

The other idea is a slot which is more typical of what I've seen some others do before. I've noticed the grip on just about all of the drills/impact tools is ~1.3". I used a 1.375" hole saw and cut the rest of the slot out on the table saw. This works great for everything with the pistol style grip including M12 and M18 and allows for the battery to be stored with the tool (rare that I do, but I'd like to have the option):

My final solution might be a mix of both (slots for the drills/impacts hangars for the lights), but curious as to what others have done which might give me some more ideas. All of the oddball M12 tools will stay in the drawer, though I am hoping this clears out enough space for batteries in there.

Good timing and thanks! I have one of the lighter duty impacts 2655. It tops out at 220ft pounds. Nice for most times but this sale price was too good to pass up. The 600ft pounds of bolt shearing power will come in handy on super stuck bolts and lug nuts.

I like the bracket idea, but I would be concerned about wear on the tool over time from the metal bracket sliding in and out.

I'm trying to find extra trays for the Packout system. The little trays that come inside of the bigger boxes. I'd like to grab a couple more if possible. Anyone know if I can purchase more of them separately?

Are they the same boxes as in the parts organizer?

Those you can buy I know I have seen them listed somewhere

Milwaukee doesn’t have a part number for individual bins. You’ll have to buy them as a set of 5; 4 small and 1 large bin. 31-01-0501 is the p/n

A lot of stuff is being cleared out at my hd.. including the friggin rotary hammers. The one key radius light was down to like $206 I think.

I will no be surprised if Milwaukee comes out with dual voltage batteries to run on m18 tools. 18v or 36v volt - you pick.. makita has a dual battery adapter to run twin packs on 18v tools - so this seems totally possible to me.

They would only start clearing them out to make way for a new line of tools. At least that means we will be able to get the current stuff cheaper.

And their boxes are gone from HD right now too. So is Husky boxes. I wonder what's on the way.

I don't own Milwaukee, but would like the ratchet.

I kept watching the rotary hammers, now they're just down to just the display. The empty shelf spot says $140, not sure if they'd sell me the display for cheaper. Looks like they're going with the shorter style rotary hammers since just the longer version was clearanced out.

I used my mid torque for the first time tonight changing wheels. It is so much nicer to use than the last gen high torque. I can actually hold it with one hand (I'm weak) and the button to change power levels is much easier to press, especially while wearing gloves. I honestly don't think I'll ever have to use the high torque again unless I need to remove an axle bolt. The mid torque should have enough power for just about anything else I'd touch on the car.

Sale For the addicts. New ratchet version being release soon. This should’ve been the starting price for this set lol since it’s identical to the channellock version and both made in Taiwan.

My lady got me the 3/8 electric ratchet for x-mas and I love it! I noticed they have the fuel version of the ratchet shortly after but I didn't know if should stick to what I got or upgrade. I don't think she would like that much lol.

I'll have to get all my Milwaukee goodies photographed. I've owned my own carpentry business for 25 years and have three Milwaukee tools from day one, plus a new Impact driver.
Got an old school sawzall, a circ saw and a deck/drywall screw gun kit. All have miles on them And still look and operate like new. Just out some new cords on a bunch of Milwaukee, Porter cable and Dewalt tools last week, too :)

Ok, down here in Australia we only get detent pin impact wrenches, like so: https://www.totaltools.com.au/m18-gen-ii-1-2-pin-impact-wrench-bare
I remember seeing something on switching the driver to friction ring, but cant find it anywhere. Anyone have a link, or is there any easy way to reduce the shoulder on the pin as it jams in most of my impact sockets.

I have a 3/8" drive Ingersoll impact that had a sharp radius on the top edge of the detent pin so I removed it, chucked it up in the lathe and very carefully ground a nice smooth radius equal to the diameter of the pin. I no longer have to fight to get sockets off the anvil any more, they pop off with just enough jiggle that I don't have to worry about them falling off when I don't want them to.

Anyone used the Milwaukee 9.0 amp battery line trimmer ? I think it's model 272521 HD . How long does the battery last when using it ? My BIL is thinking about it. Wonder if the battery stuff Stihl makes is better choice .
Thanks

Used it this week at full speed (rabbit speed) with .95 line. My grass/weeds where about 12-17” tall. Don’t judge me.

It killed a 9.0 in about 20 min at full speed, only stopped to bump the feed.

Usually at full speed i am able to do all my front and back yard an still have 2 bars left on the 9.0 when they grass is not this tall hahaha

Where in MN are you that you have 12-17" weeds? We had 20-inches of snow at our place a week ago.
