Also picked up the inflator/battery combo from Home Depot today. The website said it wasn't available in store, but I took a chance anyways. There was an entire display like everyone else has said. Higher volume store. Can't wait to try it out tomorrow!
This happened to me on Sunday as well. My store said it did not carry it. I went there for some paint and took a walk down the air tools aisle, and there was the display. I picked one up. Have not used it yet, but it seems like it will be handy to have around.

I'm curious, if they're only gonna sell the new super tools as kits for a while to emphasize that these bigger tools are designed for the high output batteries

They did that with the 9.0s yeah? Made for some good HD clearance deals

I'm wondering if the 12.0's will fit the 2771 water pump?

They are offering free retrofit kits through eService starting in July IIRC. There are a few other tools that made the list as well, can't recall them at the moment though

The 9.0s are pretty bad *** batteries. I'd bet they'd work great in the new tools, maybe worked a little hard but hey life's short haha. The larger cells in the 12.0s are really a big step forward though. They can put out serious juice and barely get warm. That's definitely gonna make a performance difference in demanding/continuous applications.

I'd love to get some 12.0s but I'll hold off until they're ~$100. I really hope one of their surprise releases this year is a 3 or 4 ah compact pack with the bigger cells.

All of my impact accessories are 1/2" drive *shrugs*

Same for me really,

Loads of 1/2", i have a snap on 3/8 impact and a set of tektons from 10-19, however i still find myself reaching for my compact milwaukee 1/2" much more often.

I don't see much of a point of having a 3/8" anvil on something like the mid-torque, the the sockets would be smaller but the tool itself is bulky and heavy-ish, making the difference in the sockets pretty much a non-issue imo.

If you want a good compact impact then i really recommend the Facom compact air impact, i use it for mostly anything that the compact milwaukee wont deal with, either that or a high torque dewalt (very bulky).

If they came out with mid torque 3/8 first, not many would ever buy the mid torque 1/2.... We got suckered

Not really. The 1/2" is still better with Lisle crank bolt sockets, etc. Lots of guys use them but adapters on impacts have serious drawbacks. It is better to avoid them.

Just looking the water pump over as to a retrofit. The entire outer case will need to replaced as it's all one piece for the handle and battery compartment. Looks like 9 screws hold it all in place. Should be be easily done though.

Got my inflators yesterday, briefly used, not bad.

My friend who was dying for the soldering iron, after I got it for him he is disappointed in th performance. Anyone else feel same.

See prices on NPS stuff? 12.0 only $199, two pack 6.0s $199. Seems all new M18 versions same price ad old one.

Nope...granted it could maybe a little hotter as its not as fast to heat up and melt solder as my Hexacon bench unit could do the same job but it works ok and IMO the cordless operation is well worth it

I easily soldered up and joined two 12 gauge automotive wires with a wrap. Good joint good flow I don't know what more I could ask from it really? :headscrat .

Extra flux helps nicely as does wiping the excess of solder off on wet sponge. Also tinning the tip when you put it away too.

I used mine along with the heat gun for the first time over the weekend. I haven't quite figured out the best way to hold the soldering iron yet. Maybe it's the extra weight, but it felt a bit awkward. It still got the job done though and it was wonderful not needing to drag out a cord.

Most of my soldering is splicing into wires on the inside of a car. Trying to set a corded iron down with an unruly cord on that tiny stand is frightening. I much prefer the large/stable base of the battery with the cordless when around a car. Anything removable is done at the bench with a proper iron.

Recently picked this. Got it to take wheels off. (My wheels only get torqued to 90ftlbs) Really like how I can program torque settings; will probably have a setting for 75ftlbs, and then I will finish off with a torque wrench. Any reason why I should need a larger battery than a 6.0 Ah? I also have a leaf blower that I like to use to dry my car and dog. It dies about when the job is about 75% complete, assuming the battery was just fully charged.

Just got a shipping notice that the inflator is on its way. Mine is coming from Quebec, a little over 800km away from me. I pre-ordered through elitetools.ca, had to order a $2.5 bit so I could get free shipping

The high torque struggles with crank bolts, I believe you'd be **** out of luck with the mid torque.

Had my first “bad” Milwaukee experience today. Wife ordered me a 2598 kit with the free 6.0 battery earlier this week. Got the kit today and the belt clip on the impact driver was on backwards. Figured I’d just spin it around. Wrong. Screw was cross threaded. Pulled the whole bung out of the casing. Home Depot was nice enough to return it without the packaging and order another one for me. Was kinda bummed but the new one will be here by next Tuesday

Blasphemy!

But seriously.was there any mention of an m18 trim router / laminate cutter?? That's like the only Ryobi tool I was considering to use with my very well made m18 battery adapter that I bought off the forum. Round of applause for that guy (forgot his name on here). Used it on the Ryobi glue gun 2 weeks ago.

He is PLC268. I use my adapters a lot too. Glue gun, Ryobi nail guns, and got to use the Ryobi air mattress inflator when we went camping/shooting. I had M18 batteries for the big rover lights, perfect everything.

Btw, those 2135 Rover lights are so dope. Lit up the whole campsite. Cooked meat over the fire, tuned firearms, loaded mags, etc...plenty of light. Only thing is there is no good way to ratchet strap the Rover during transport. I had to just use like 4 ratchet straps every which way. Maybe a night time project in garage will be to build a box for it...thin Lexan with aluminum angle iron frame????

Well this seems to be the inclusive list for Milwaukee products that currently won't work with the 12.0

**Due to the physical size increase of the M18™ REDLITHIUM™ HIGH OUTPUT™ HD12.0, it does not fit the following tools prior to a 6/1/2018 manufacturing date without applicable service parts: 2787-20, 2788-20, 2771-20, 2122-20, 2130-20, 2135-20, 2361-20, 2145-20, 2146-20, 2360-20. Milwaukee is committed to protecting users’ investments, offering free service upgrades for the listed products to any customer that purchases an HD12.0 battery pack. Users may visit eService at https://www.milwaukeetool.com/eService for available service upgrades.

So if you buy a 12.0 they will upgrade your product somehow

interesting. certainly the tower lights (2130 and 2135) are likely just replacement bottoms. i wonder if you have to send the whole thing in or if they will be willing to just mail you out replacement bottoms for you to put on yourself.

also, will they ask for the serial number of a 12AH battery to confirm your purchase of one?

Are you sure the 'service upgrade' after you bought the wrong battery isn't a swap out with a combo of 4 or 5 Ah batts instead.

It still doesn't look like it will work with my older wet dry vac though the most current unit are ok with it seeing as they removed the mounting port for the original V style battery.

I was looking it over guess it could be removed easily enough and the wires taped off.

But hey maybe they'll just give me a new one if I ask nice :D

I don't recall this video being posted, but I apologize if it has been. It shows the enlarged battery bay replacement parts. Starts at 5:40.

I've been thinking about ripping that V battery hookup since I got the thing years ago...maybe I'll do that this weekend.

The whole MO and mantra of the M18 system is that all of your batteries will work with all of your tools. If you take that away, much of the M18's glory will go with it. Milwaukee knows this and has made it extremely clear that they're committed to the M18 platform through-in-through. I'm almost positive they'll offer the retrofits for free regardless of whether or not the user has the 12.0 battery. They don't mess around with that stuff. Besides, I wouldn't be shocked and chagrined if there's "future proofing" baked into the cost of every tool :D

Did Milwaukee discontinue their large tool boxes? It seems my local Home Depot is dumping their remaining stock (and they are all the first gen 46" combo not the heavier duty combo released last year)? The store must have a half dozen or so sitting on the floor, although not at a discount.

Picked up the $299 version of the small 1/2" impact. Gonna buy the tool only big one when I find it in store. The $199 version was nowhere around.
