Got my 1/4" non-fuel M12 ratchet kit today from Tool Nut... NICE !!!. Ok, call me dumb... but I didn't realize the pack out held a blow molded insert to hold the ratchet and charger.

That insert is now 9 feet in the air on the top shelf of "stuff for a yard sale"...

The pack out case is very nice (it's my first). The ratchet is nice and will get use shortly.

I don't need the charger...

Every slot in my power tool cart is full now. Can't buy anything else without building a new cart or stacking.

The same thing happened to me when I order a couple kits, I thought they came with the packet case, not that the packet case was the kit. I ended up buying a few more and now I have bins in some and tools and bins in others.

Yea... I really wanted the bins... …So... I went to Walmart and got a bunch of the plastic bins with lids that I can use with it. The good part is the one's I bought are small and will allow me to store more.

This packout will be my Hog Ring Kit... I got a new hog ring plier and a box of 1/2" stainless delivered today for a project. I also need to make new bungie cords...

You were not trying to help anyone, you were trying to make a fellow member look foolish. I can, and did read what was posted, my post was an elaboration that I thought may help others. Get over yourself.

I was pointing out the first post - and my phone call to Milwaukee happened almost a MONTH ago.. in the post it said John said part numbers for retro kits would be available in a about a month - Mid JUNE - which is ALMOST NOW.. your just insistant on being arrogant even when somebody HANDS you info on who to call and when it would be available.. tell yourself whatever you want - remember when u posted "if I'm being a **** - I'd want someone to tell me" - well guess what...

I took my first sip of the red kool aid today and bought this https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...it-2-Tool-w-2-Batteries-Bag-2598-22/303101201

I have a **** load of 18 and 20 V yellow tools and I'm not buying anymore of them. Since I'm moving my shop 900 miles south and it looks like my son will be buying this place from me when I leave, I'll leave the yellow tools behind and use that as a good place to start adding red.

I will eventually wind up buying a bunch of M18 fuel tools to replace the yellow stuff but the M12 line up has a bunch of specialty tools that you don't see in the M18 line up so I'm starting with the M12 stuff and will move forward from there.

I used the M12 impact driver today for a task I usually use the yellow 20v 1/4" impact for and was quite impressed at how much balls the little red tool had with the little battery. I'm really liking the red tools.

You can probably buy one of those cheap Hf pelican style cases just for the foam insert. They are little peel away foam blocks so you can customize what it holds. Then you can make the packout hold whatever u wanted.. don't know where else u could get that foam really cheap. If hf was smart they would just sell packages of that.

That's a great set for jumping into the M12 lineup. Since I got it I hardly touch my M18 drill and impact. Did you get the free 6.0ah battery with it?

I don’t think your ego would fit.

Not with all my Milwaukee tools and Union Pension, no it wouldn't..

Both Rocket tower lights are on clearance at my hd.. I have a feeling they are making room for the lower priced (easier to sell) m12 rocket light..

Anyone find the new USB lights on preorder? I can't bring myself to buy the USB standard flashlight. I can't take 5 steps as it is without a flashlight in this house. But I'll make an exception for the new USB models.

Edit - scratch that - the gen1 m18 rocket tower light got a makeover.. 2500 lumens and will also be dual powered now too...

Pre order from international and you will get a stand

View attachment 776155

Cool...Thanks!

I wonder that's the only place with the that deal :headscrat

I was holding offon the preorder hoping they might pitch a deal like they did with the big miter saw a while back ( xtra battery & lower pricing) but adding the stand does help

Anyone have any opinion on a stand like tHat looks flimsy to me (weak? ) I don't like the adjustable legs. Is it like a Dewalts?

Table saws definitely need stability even more than like chop saws especially when ripping

I’ll be waiting until they offer it with a free 12.0 battery before I order. I can foresee a $499 + free 12.0 battery in the future. Same with the chainsaw and super sawzall.

Pack Out Box failure for desired task. I either have to get a lot more Hog Ring supplies or shrink this pack out box... Too much room. Found an alternate home for my hog stuff.

My new M12 ratchet smells like oil... not used to Milwaukee stuff smelling this much. Used it today to take apart a shelving unit that was behind the big shed. It has some gusto... wish it spun faster. I ended up singing while it broke down the two inch bolts...

So I bought one of the clearance Fuel One Key Sawzalls from Home Depot on Sunday and was planning on cutting up some pallets this weekend.....then today I found a guy local that had the new bare tool M18 Super Sawzall for sale. I ended up picking it up just because...thanks to this stupid Milwaukee addiction. I haven't compared them yet, but I may just end up returning the One Key model.

How is the new Super Sawzall? They aren't even out yet, he must work for Milwaukee or knows someone who does.

So, I just purchased the M18 Fuel Hammer-drill/Surge Driver combo and the Mid-torque Impact driver. The surge is so robust I'lll likely never even get to use the mid-torque, but it's just so damn cool. Anyway, on to my problem. I have two battery chargers, both with a charging port for a 12v battery, and these ports must be filled. I can't even think of an M12 tool I need, closest match to a need might be the battery charger.

I think I'm going to buy a couple m12 batteries and then just buy bare m12 tools as the fancy strikes me that can share those two batteries. appears they sell 1.5, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 batteries. I'll obviously get the 4.0's, unless you warn me of any particular tools where the bigger battery is a PITA compared to, say a 2.0. Any advice?

I know some of the tools feel unbalanced with the larger batteries, like my impact driver. The Hackzall needs a larger battery to feel balanced, but I imagine the rotary tool and the ratchet and similar tools will feel better with the smaller batteries.

If you're going to go with a larger battery just go with the 6.0s. They're the same size as the 4.0 and the runtime is great on most tools. Also I've always found better deals on 6.0s when buying the batteries by themselves

Question to those with either the M12 or M18 Oscillating Multi-Tool: which should I get? Home Depot is doing the M12 kit with a Packout case for $99, or the M18 bare tool for $99, or the M18 kit with 3 M18 batteries for $299. My uses are mainly going to be scraping, sanding, and some light cutting, but nothing too intense. Mostly just detail sanding where I can't get an orbital, cutting drywall or thin wood for trim/cabinets, and basic homeowner stuff. I have way more M12 tools and batteries than M18 stuff, and I don't see myself adding much in the way of M18 tools beyond the chainsaw and maybe a Surge driver. I already have the 2767 High Torque impact, and I haven't even made a dent in the battery in the several months I've had it. Is the M18 that much better of a tool than the M12? Or are they different enough where I might want both?
