I like the cases but wish they were smaller, for only the tool with one battery. I have 2 shelves of tools in cases and 3 shelves of tools in various sized Milwaukee bags. Packouts won't be bothered by the China garbage import ban since they are made in Israel. I still haven't found the time to see what can fit in the stacks of packouts I have.

Mine will go up to 9v @2 amp on my s8 when the battery is low enough.
wow. either i got a fake or milwaukee's m12 power source gen 1 could seriously use some work. Voltage droops to 4.6V when pulling 2.1A from it. Barely holds 5V stable at 1A.

Looks like it's going back to amazon and gonna try the gen 2 with the usb charging.

What's up with my M12/M18 charger with a M18 battery on it? When it's on the red charging light just flashes and that's it nothing on the battery is flashing.

From back on June 2nd:

... the hedge trimmer is too heavy for my old tired arms to swing for too long, so this past week I trimmed the hedge over 2 evenings.
So I wondered how much weight I could save with smaller batteries. So I coughed up for a 2 pack of 1.5 batteries, might as well go to the smallest. They weigh .93 lbs, 420 grams. So I save over a whole pound, nearly a pound and a half. This is over 13% of the weight! I'll report on battery and arm life, but as I can trim the whole hedge using only 1 bar on the 9.0, I don't think this will be a big deal. We'll see if my arms/shoulders hold up any better.

Tag: 2726 weight

I'd recommend using at least an XC battery. The outdoor tools have high power demands, and the compact batteries 1.5/2 only have one "bank" of batteries to pull juice from. The XC (3/4/5/6) have 2, and will provide for a much better experience. The cells in the compact will get hotter, faster in these tools, and while they may work adequately now, they will have a shorter lifespan overall.

I think you will also find the XC batteries give the hedge trimmer better balance than the compacts.

So with the rain we got on the weekend, my hedge is back in expansion mode. Because of the hot weather predicted for the next week, I decided to go hack at it this evening, before it gets away from me. So I trimmed for about 10 minutes with the 1.5, then put on a fresh 9.0 for comparison. I couldn't tell the difference as far as power is concerned, But I could feel the difference in weight, it was noticeably better. And 2manytools is correct the balance is off, but I think I prefer the front heavy way it feels with the lighter battery. But battery life - the 9.0 uses around half its energy for my job, tonight if I didn't use the 9.0 for testing purposes the 2 1.5s would not have done the whole job. On the bright side, the original depleted 1.5 was already fully charged before I was finished.

All in all, I'm pleased with the 1.5s and I'll keep using them on the hedge trimmer. If it beats the hell out of them, well I'll just buy another pair. Note that the depleted one didn't feel at all warm as I was putting it on the charger.

Yes. My tester can enumerate all the protocols that it has there is no QC protocol for the Milwaukee charger. This one is the older one.

The Dewalt 20V adapter I got would barely do 1.5A anymore than that it cuts out. So it makes two iPads on the ports useless as it’s advertising 1.5A draw.

Are the 3/8 and 1/2 mid torque the same gun but with different anvils? Can you swap that one to a 3/8 friction ring?

Not entirely sure about that... what’s interesting is that when I try to pull up the 3/8” mid torque service parts list, the 1/2” parts list pops up [emoji48]

Was on the fence about getting the brushless circular saw with 9ah and charger for $249. Ebay 15% off was posted in hot deals good for today only so I'm off the fence. $211.65 shipped.

Thinking about grabbing the 2454-20 with the eBay deal today, found one for $116 before coupon, good deal? Worth the purchase?

Edit: 3/8 impact fuel 12v

I bought the kit with free 6ah battery during the last ebay coupon for $160. I haven't used it alot, but it did take off some rusted exhaust nuts.

What's the preferred blower?

I'd like to take advantage of eBay's 15% deal today.

Both are listed at 450 CFM. 2724-20 says 120 mph where 2728-20 only says 100 mph, though I don't know if that's a usable/functional stat.

I don't know if the diff is noticable, haven't seen anyone post a real world comparison. There are changes in the speed selector and lock. Think the blower tube siding changed which is where the speed increase would come in if they increased the resistance of the motor clutch.

I always prefer the newer model, hate to get a legacy product.

Get the new gen 2. Smaller and stronger compared to 1st gen one. Still not the best blower out-there but better compared to the first gen.

The 2724 is a definite improvement over the 2728. It's illogical 'cause the model #'s went backward & Milwaukee rarely does that.

I wouldn't want the Gen 1 2728 no matter what (knowing that the 2724 is available), even at the $149 w 5.0 that some people seem to be all happy about.

If the HD OPE deal is still going you can get the 2724 for right about $100 after returning the string trimmer. If you don't want to do this fine, but NO, you are not returning a free tool or stealing anything. You have 2 items on a receipt, each w an assigned (pro-rated) value and you are returning one of those items for the value as CLEARLY designated on the receipt. The receipt is scanned at the time of return and the system allows it. Everything is done w receipt and in the light of day.

The gen 1 had continuously variable speed. Gen 2 is just hi and low. Which sound better, but the speed control electronics died on mine, and on other poster's here. Maybe the electronics weren't as heavy duty as they should have been...

Maybe I'm the odd one out here, but I've had both and actually prefer the Gen 1 style switch and lock...Ended up returning the Gen 2 due to a problem with the trigger and got the Gen 1 with 5.0 battery deal.....

I could not really tell a difference in MY use of both which is probably light duty (blowing dust and small leaves off cement patios and driveways) compared to some others here. Either way they both work decently for quick jobs ....

i have a 2475 inflator. i put one of those slime locking heads on it.

today, i used it for several tires. i noticed that once it shuts off, there is a hissing sound, and the pressure on the tire drops. it appears that air is leaking out of the connection between the brass knurled fitting and the metal clamp on the hose (which is covered by a rubber shrink cover). starting the inflator back up, it is also leaking from there when it is running.

does anyone else see this happening?

Nice. Only $4 more than I got the Fuel Sawzall 9ah kit for.
I bought the Circ saw by itself & it is awesome w/ 9ah & good w/ 5ah batteries. (thank you kctyphoon).
I gotta start checking Hot Deals at Lunch. :headscrat

$150 vs $100. I got the 1st gen Blower for $120 on sale w/ 5ah batt. :bounce:
It works great w/ a 9ah as well.

I have the M12 3/8 Ratchet, and the M12 3/8 Fuel Impact Wrench, both have saved me tremendous time on otherwise tedious automotive jobs. Of course the ratchet does not fit everywhere, but wherever I can get it to fit it saves time!

I so want the 3/8 fuel ratchet.. it makes the brushless one look like a toy lol

I need to get a smaller impact wrench to fit in some tighter spots like taking off my caliper bracket I think I can do with the 3/8 impact wrench for that.

The Fuel is the brushless. Non-Fuel is brushed.

I've been wanting to swap up to the Gen2 since I saw it, as I hate having the "old" model too. A few of the comments on this page make me think I can wait for a really good deal (decently below $100). You have to figure Milwaukee rarely comes out with replacement models of tools just a year after releasing the prior version, I actually can't think of another tool. So with that, there has to be a decent reason for the new model. Probably won't matter for the majority of people, just us with Milwaukee OCD issues.

I was holding out on picking up a 3/8 gun. Was planning on waiting for the new m12 to be released. But cruising my local HD I noticed one lonely M18 fuel 3/8 on an upper shelf. A quick check of the #2754-20 showed not available in stores, and a price of 159.99. I figured it must have been there a while, so I would check it out. Rang up as $109!! Pretty stoked on the deal. My local HD seems to be cleaning up their Milwaukee area (hopefully in anticipation of new stuff showing up!!). There's been a bit of old stock popping up in the clearance section, apparently this one hadn't found it's way there yet, luckily for me.2608cf018a3d9c6c9888acaa70646589.jpg

The 2724 is a little more compact and less bloated looking. I personally like the high/low option and it sure looks like the same control as the string trimmer.

But mostly I'm gauging my preference of the 2724 from the fact that it FEELS to me like it definitely pushes back harder when you first fire it up and SEEMS to perform better than the old 2728

NOW, every bit of that could just be the "**** dyno" effect, ie just like how every yahoo throws a K&N filter in their car and is just certain that the car now feels more powerful.

But yeah, from the get-go most agreed the performance of the 2728 was near the bottom of "real" cordless blowers. IMO the 2724 is now more middle-of-the-pack.

I STILL wish they would have given the 2724 a "debris ring" on the tube ala Echo 58V

My M18 blower took a dump over the weekend, and it took out a 9.0 and 5.0 battery with it. I was using it to blow some light and fluffy snow off the deck. The blower was working great, had probably been using it about 10 minutes or so when it just stopped working.

I assumed the battery died, so I popped in a freshly charged one. I pulled the trigger and it only made a small sound, but I immediately smelled a small amount of smoke (not visible). I removed the battery right away and hit the button, and it flashed red. The 9.0 battery that was in it before did the same thing.

I put them on the charger...flashing red/green error on both batteries. Blower and 9.0 battery would be under warranty, not sure about the 5.0 battery. I'm not positive, but it may have sucked in a small amount of snow into the intake.

Anyone have experience with getting warranty work done at a local service center?

The gen 1 had continuously variable speed. Gen 2 is just hi and low. Which sound better, but the speed control electronics died on mine, and on other poster's here. Maybe the electronics weren't as heavy duty as they should have been...

Go back to post 11995 for the story.

Update on my story:
Finally got around to sending in my Gen 1 blower. No local service centers handle these in my area, so I shipped it to Milwaukee (they paid for shipping both ways). They fixed/replaced the blower and the 5.0 battery that was damaged when it let the smoke out. The 9.0 battery magically came back to life on its own...so I'm good to go there.

Bad news is that I had removed the tube from the blower (so it would fit in a smaller box) and included it in the box. Problem is, they didn't sent it back. So now I have a functioning blower, but no blower tube. :headshake

I was looking at this model too, but the 210 ft/lb torque spec looks close enough to the M18 Fuel 1/4” impact driver, 2000 in/lb equals 166.7 ft/lb. For many things my current brushless 1/4” impact driver with 125 ft/lb and the 3/8” socket insert have worked perfectly fine. This is why I’m holding out for the mid torque.

They say not to send in accessories, but I wouldn't qualify that as an accessory. Not too many cases when this would occur. They probably threw it away already. Maybe they will send you a Gen2 for the trouble. Best of luck

Yeah, I didn't think of that as being an accessory. Wanted them to have the whole thing in case they wanted to just replace it. I emailed their service support team and they just called me back. They are going to ship me a replacement tube, so I didn't get lucky enough to get a Gen2 out of the deal.

I'm satisfied, hopefully this one will last longer than the last. If not, I will see how long Milwaukee will keep fixing/replacing it. Might pick up an Ego instead if it gets to be too much of a hassle, I want to get one of their snowblowers anyways so my wife can handle the blowing duties if needed. :lol_hitti
