I'm satisfied, hopefully this one will last longer than the last. If not, I will see how long Milwaukee will keep fixing/replacing it. Might pick up an Ego instead if it gets to be too much of a hassle, I want to get one of their snowblowers anyways so my wife can handle the blowing duties if needed. :lol_hitti

Not sure how you are satisfied if she leaves all the blowing to you

I was looking at this model too, but the 210 ft/lb torque spec looks close enough to the M18 Fuel 1/4” impact driver, 2000 in/lb equals 166.7 ft/lb. For many things my current brushless 1/4” impact driver with 125 ft/lb and the 3/8” socket insert have worked perfectly fine. This is why I’m holding out for the mid torque.
That's what I thought but the weak link is the thin 1/4" shaft; it has limited capacity. Also, any adapter will absorb the direct impact shocks while a proper socket impact will transfer the power directly to the sockets.

The 3/8" impact is a very good investment.

Get the M18 Hackzall and skip the M12.

I beg to differ. I own both the m12 and n18 fuel hackzall. The m12 fuel is handled pretty well with 1 hand and is perfect for smaller steel and pvc pipe. The m18 fuel is large enough that it's really more of a 2 handed tool. It can be operated with 1 hand for small amounts of time, but you will tire quickly on longer cuts. Mind you I'm a healthy 28 year old diesel tech.

Oh yeah I also forgot. My buddy works at a home depot distribution center and said the m18 chainsaws are shipping out right now. I can't wait.

Update on my story:
Finally got around to sending in my Gen 1 blower. No local service centers handle these in my area, so I shipped it to Milwaukee (they paid for shipping both ways). They fixed/replaced the blower and the 5.0 battery that was damaged when it let the smoke out. The 9.0 battery magically came back to life on its own...so I'm good to go there.

Bad news is that I had removed the tube from the blower (so it would fit in a smaller box) and included it in the box. Problem is, they didn't sent it back. So now I have a functioning blower, but no blower tube. :headshake

Now that's hilarious, because the guy at the depot told me to hold onto the tube. The replacement came with the tube, so I have one here I'm tripping over. Next time you're in the neighbourhood, drop by and I'll give it to you. :lol_hitti

There was a milwaukee rep at HD today, I just went in to browse. I was about to order a couple of compacts because I realized I have 20 batteries and they're all either 5.0 or 9.0. It's annoying using the big batteries on my drills and impacts. So instead of spending $70 plus on 2 batteries, they had this kit for $99.

I can easily sell the drill for $60(Maybe even $80). I was talking with the rep for a while and was showing him my ridiculous collection, I ended up sweet talking him into throwing in not 4, but 8 of the Milwaukee Ticks and 4 inkzalls, and a set of hex to socket adapters. The Ticks are $50 for 4, I'll probably keep one or two and sell the rest. Then I'll have ended up with 2 new batteries and a case for free.

I'm gonna hold off on the hackzall and the new impact driver. I already have the fuel sawzall, and the m12 fuel impact driver. I need to save my money for the 7"/9" grinder kit, 3" cut off, and at least one of the stubby impacts. Then I can get the new impact driver when it goes on promo.

Yeah see my mom had the 2728 and it might have had 10 minutes actual use on it before it died. She sent it in via e-service & they took care of it, but I'm not sure the 2728 is the most reliable thing either. But really my point is why worry - anything can fail.

I am so torn right now... debating between buying the m12 fuel hackzall with the ebay sale right now for $79, or using the acme sale to preorder the new 2853 impact driver for $118

What ebay sale? I saw they had a promo code (PARTYINUSA?) and I couldn't get it to apply to my fuel sawzall nor m12 expander :(

I'll keep trying different retailers then, thanks! I've bought so much from their 20% off sales, shits awesome lol.
On the ebay homepage click on shop now in the little promo section where it says 20% off. Then itll take you to a new page with a search bar and it will only search items included in the sale.

Yeah that m12 hackzall is one of the only deals I saw worthwhile

The $89 kit isn't a bad deal, but it's reconditioned. It's also not something I would buy, everything I've seen says it's pretty underpowered. I have the m12 fuel version and it's just about right power wise, I don't think I would want anything weaker than that unless I was only cutting thin wood or sheetrock.

All the stuff I'm seeing looks like it's been marked up at least 20%.

Yah a lot of it seemed that way to me also, didn't have enough time to compare prices tonight, but cant find what I REALLY wanted anyways. M12 Fuel impact Pack out kit was decent at 95 shipped I thought tho

Also on the Hackzall, we use the M18 at work tons, one handed, two handed, pvc, copper, sheetrock, whatever. I hear the M12 one is a little less powerful, but I dont imagine it needs much power to slice through the aforementioned stuff. If you're doing a lot of it or need to be doing other materials I would skip the M12 probably

Nothing brand new that hasn't been shown but...

Ever see a sleeping child in their bed and get overwhelmed with the image of a sleeping child all nestled in their bed...

How about 6 M12 tools you use almost daily, sleeping all nestled in their beds...

Finally got around to making something to store the majority of my collection and keep it organized.

Gathered all of my batteries to see if they would fit on top and realized I have way more than I thought I did. Most of the M12 are 1.5 or 2.0 and the M18 XC are 3.0. Just recently picked up the M12 XC and 9.0 from eBay sales.

Set in place and filled with everything I could. The batteries fit perfectly up top.

Now to figure out how to hang the circular saws. The ratchet and inflator are stored out in the garage. Everything else not conducive to slot mounting fits in a drawer under the workbench.

Anyone feel guilty about having too many tools? Everything was purchased for a specific task, but now as some newer tools have come out a few of these never get used anymore. The high torque impact never gets used because of the mid torque. The M12 stick light blew away the original M12 LED light, but now the little USB light seems brighter and more useful than both stick lights. Even the M18 drill rarely gets used because of how versatile the M12 is.

EDIT: I guess Imgur (which works on every other forum) doesn't work here.

I can't see your pictures, but I am interested in how you are storing your M12 tools.

Maybe I have to many tools. I guess it is all relevant and a matter of opinion. I don't feel guilty about what I have because my kids are taken care of, and my bills are paid. I do need to get rid of some stuff as I am kind of getting over run right now.

I finally got to try out my 2767 high torque impact yesterday. Big difference removing lug nuts. I'm used to my pneumatic spinning the nuts at high speed once they break loose. I love the way the Milwaukee slows down after breaking the nuts loose. No flying lug nuts anymore.

I agree many tools are progressing quickly which is cool. The original M12 stick light was heralded as bright at ~220 lumens. Now that's not much.

But I just give away or hand down or donate if I get too much redundancy in my line up.

Still, this thing of too many tools......does not compute

Craigslist or eBay for the old unused tools, get what you can out of them and move on to newer tools. I’m looking at selling off my non fuel M18 tools currently to upgrade in both tool and battery.

Good to know about the mid torque impact wrench, I was looking at getting one soon and was thinking that would be the better choice.

In one of the smaller tool groups on fb, a dealer has the stubby impacts and 3" cut off for pre order.

$140 for cut off
$184 for 3/8 & 1/2
$159 for 1/4

The cut off is reg price but it looks like hes upcharging $20 on the impacts since hes the first person to put them for preorder. I've done business with him before, hes been great in my experience
what are the prices, if you dont mind me asking . . . . .

Thanks for your response. I came around to your way of thinking and purchased the same 3/8” drive impact today. I realized that smaller is better on the 3/8” and 210 ft/lb is fine for most things I’d need to do with 3/8”. I used the Google coupon to get the wrench, 2 5.0 batteries, charger, and case for $234. I’ve decided to get the 1/2” mid torque impact instead of the 3/8 mid torque I was looking at before.

Hopefully Milwaukee will stick with the model I just bought for more than a couple weeks
