This is my EDC and my favorite! I just wish they included THIS one in the flashlight deal

Funny story: I dulled mine the other day scraping a + battery terminal. Arced to the body and "burnt" a depression in the leading edge. I was able to mostly sharpen it out, though

edit: I like that these aren't super long when folded up. I've seen other brands with prices I like more but the handles are stupid long so once folded they're just too damn bulky clipped in my pocket.

Hello all, I am looking at upgrading some of my power tools to milwaukee. I am currently looking into the 300nm impact wrench for around home and on the farm.

So my question to you all is whether to get one with the friction ring or the indent pin to keep the socket on the gun and what is usually preferred.

Thanks in advance.

I have 3 impacts (small, medium and large) all with friction ring. The detent pin requires a tool (small screwdriver or pick) to release the socket. And if you put a socket without a hole on, it can be almost impossible to release.

Just picked up a new 2997-22 kit from CPO outlet. With a qualifying accessory, in my case the 48-89-4630 shockwave 15 piece bits, brought the 2997-22 kit down to 257.72. Nice combo price imo.

Started cutting out my Kaizen Foam inserts for my packout this week.

What I realized is I need more packout containers and that the small ones are way more useful then the larger ones for 80% of the tools.

looks nice. Did you use that Kaizen Foam Hot Knife?
to make the inside walls so smooth?
thanks

It's an awesome light, you'll love it. I never found myself needing 120v AC power with it, plenty of battery life.

I plan on getting the M12 Rocket light in October to go with the M18.

I have the current non stubby M12 3/8 impact with the friction ring and it doesn't hold onto my sockets at all. Going to go with the 1/2 stubby with the pin detent as soon as they are out. Just need to get a set of 1/2 impact sockets to go with it as well.

I have 5 Milwaukee impacts from 3/8 to 3/4, all with friction ring. Detente pin is usually for single socket applications like construction or changing tires at the racetrack.

For farm use i would recommend the Milwaukee 610nm mid torque. It will handle the common 18/19mm socket size found on disc mowers and other tractors and equipment. The compact 300nm will struggle on some of those applications
Thanks for the great feedback guys. Yea I would have to agree. At work we use dewalt with the pin and it is a real hassle when you want to change the sockets. Just thought I'd get a second opinion as I an not familiar with the milwaukee products.

I hadn't really thought of the mid torque gun. I always thought it would be to heavy and clumsy in the tractor cab . But might check it out next time I'm in town

have you thought of just replacing the ring? if i read the parts diagram correctly, the part number is 44-90-1050

If the sockets are easily coming off with the friction ring, something isn’t right.

Ya know, thanks. I have no idea why I need the 2800 series stuff but I've been wanting to try it out.

I was also able to get the $257.72 price on the kit. I grabbed the cheapest accy - the shockwave TiN drill bits (dropped to $12 after the 20%)

But today I was also able to stack the code LABORDAY for another $20 off orders $150+

CPO is usually pretty savvy about not allowing discounts to combine, but it worked here.

Don't think anyone has them yet.

Just to add to that, I just ordered mine from Acme a little while ago. If you add a couple cheap bits to the order to get 4 items, you save 15%.

This is one of the goofiest sales I've ever seen.

Yep, but it was exactly what I was waiting on to pull the trigger!! I knew someone had to run a good deal before they were shipping. I grabbed a couple $2 bits that I needed.

I ordered the 1/4 and 3/8 stubby impacts and two 78 cent drill bits to get the 15% discount. Odd sale but I'll take it.

edit: the only bummer is now I'll need to spend another ~$60 to upgrade the 2804 to the 9/16"-18 Rohm chuck. I've upgraded nearly all my other Milwaukee drills (4 of 6) to Rohm and I'm never going back

This sale got me today. Ordered the $429 at Home Depot hammer drill/surge combo and $33 at Home Depot saws-all blades for $295. A savings of $210 vs buying local and paying the tax.

Not sure about that one exactly, but a guy on Youtube posted a video changing the M18 mid-torque from pin detent to friction ring, and it didn't look too difficult. I'm thinking about changing mine over soon, the anvil is only $21 and the pin gets annoying if you change sockets often.

This is on a really new very lightly used unit. Granted i'm using it with tekton sockets which might not be the best but like if I point the gun at the ground and shake it hard enough the socket will fall off. This is making me want to go to the pin detent 1/2 version of the stuby

They canceled my mid torque order, dont know reason, used 2nd account cause they are sticklers for one coupon use per account. I have a feeling the new mid torque 3/8 wasnt suppose to be lower price plus 20% eligible with accessory.

As I thought the website had an error, the kits were not supposed to be lower prices plus additional 20% off with accessory, so it was a mistake double disc. My mid torque order was canceled but my 2997 kit shipped. So perhaps they let each customer get 1 error lol

Anyone catch Home Depot’s daily deals yesterday. Lots of Milwaukee stuff. Not much I wanted but did order a Hardline 3” knife. At 55% off I think it was a good buy

CPO must really be upset with me, my Gen3 2997 kit arrived yesterday, but it wasnt in the box, it was a Dewalt kit. Likely shipping labels got put on the wrong box, the guy that ordered this $100 Dewalt kit is probably very happy if he got my Gen3 kit.

My discounted hammer drill/surge kit with 20% off shipped today.
