I don't remember the part #, but snap makes a rubber boot for their ratchet that fits the Milwaukee perfect, as MWK does not make a boot for their non-fuel units.

the snap on cover is YA905, when i bought it last spring, it was 5.20$, now it is 5.40$. snap-on is different than a lot of retailers. *under* 500$ ships free.

The SnapOn solution is exclusively for the non-Fuel ratchets. Milwaukee does not make a boot for these.

The boots made by Milwaukee are exclusively for the M12 Fuel ratchets. These do not fit the non-Fuel model.

The heads of the Fuel and non-Fuel versions are totally different. There is very little exposed metal on the head of the non-Fuel, so the smaller SnapOn boot covers it just fine.

So I just picked up that little m18 Rover flood light with the rotating head. Not bad. The clamping system is impressive, magnets too. I do wish they designed it that the head would flip UP instead of down. Doesn't seem to make much sense in some cases.. you mount the light to a solid metal surface using the magnets, and the head flips down to shine or hit directly into said metal surface.. seems like it would been better, for me anyway, if the hinge was on the opposite side.

LOL, your sentiment was mine a year ago when I was one of the first to get it via preorder. Its funny if you look at all the pics in the advertising, its stood on a surface on the back side and using the flip face. The last way I would use that light...

That honestly didnt even occur to me.. lol. I'm glad u posted that.. I do wish it was brighter too. 1500 lumens doesnt do as much as you'd hope out in the open. Close distance, inside a room where the light can reflect over stuff - great.. outside at night - eh. I mean, you can see - but in my head I'm like "someone turn that damn light up"..

Yes people - I understand it's not really meant for that - but you gotta use what's available to fit your needs. My hope is that it'll survive being stuck onto the metal boom of a bucket truck for the few times we need it, or clamped down onto the bucket itself. Least that way it's close by. If nothing else it stores inside the truck easily.

a solid back, non collapsing, non tublar handles, that the back side of the "hand truck" flips up with a deployable leg to create a table.. get it ? You load your 2/3 additional packout organizers onto the base, wheel your 50 pounds of **** to whatever room you're working in, and the back of the handtruck unfolds to create a table top.

I feel like this was discussed around NPS time, they have the dolly packout platform coming out which I really want. It was either they said a handtruck will be released in future or someone asked them to make it.

Is there a release date for mid torque or M18 Gen 3 impacts with one key. I sorta at least remember in the NPS videos, they were saying non one key release 1st. Don't recall a confirmed released on One Key variant

Had to file a warranty claim on my 1/4 hex impact driver 2753-20, about a year ago the setting 2 LED went out which I ignored but lately when I pull the trigger the drill will randomly not work if you pull the trigger again it will be fine but it is very inconsistent.

Anyone know how long Milwaukee usually takes to perform warranty work?

Used to be EXACTLY one week - if you shipped it out on a Thursday you would have it back the next Thursday. Now, it seems to be 2 weeks or more. Kind of a bummer IMO but whatever

So I've said before I think the design of the new 0880 vacs is less convenient w the hose storing under the lid. For me, I grab these little vacs frequently, often, repeatedly for quick small jobs. Having to pop the lid each time, grab the hose, (probably) close lid, then open lid again, tuck hose away and re-latch lid seems to defeat the convenience IMO

Granted, the new design LOOKS cleaner, but I'll take function over form every time.

I needed to replace an ailing 0780 (that's the M28 version but otherwise identical to V1.0 of the 0880) so I grabbed a new 0880 today.

I found the molds for the bottom bin are similar but not identical so you cannot just swap upper assemblies. (Pic 1)

However the exterior hose holder is easily removed, being attached w a nice but arguably over-engineered design of captive backing nuts and plasti-screws.(Pic 2, left)

In the interest of time and creating smaller holes, I found that some tiny flat head wood screws work perfectly. I don't know what length I used but the pointy tips just barely protruded into the bin; I kissed 'em w a 3" ScotchBrite on my 2438 to take off the sharp points should I reach in there. Voila!

I'm happy, new vacuum updated to "old"

Upgraded my old 2407 to an LFA 1/2" chuck. The chuck feels a little rough but it locks down nicely.

I shoulda done this long ago, no reason to be limited to 3/8" capacity as long as the user understands the limitations of the drill itself.

The 2407 is standard 3/8-24 mount

Ok, so this LFA chuck wound up sucking. It just slips as most bits are about to break through steel or aluminum no matter how much I cinched it down.

Holds the battery together [emoji41]. The battery, a charger and the 2650 are the first Milwaukee tools I bought(used, well worn). It works perfectly fine but I don’t leave in the tool or on charger if I’m not around.

Sounds like you really need the 2380 flood light @ 3000 lumens

Never was a fan of that new swivel model though I like the M12 version a lot it lights up a room pretty good and worked really well as an underhood light (had a nice photo posted on this forum of that one time but seems some one has deleted it now from the original post I made)


So was just thinking this...since the 2860 has keyhole slots in the base to hang it off a couple of screws, a couple HF #2.99 round magnets or one their free magnet bars could probably be mounted to them

Often drops to $199 bundled during the holidays, but not bad at $230.

My only hesitation would be I anticipate brushless multi-tools from Milwaukee next year, both m12 & M18. They also bought a multi-tools blade company recently, which makes me believe they will implement star-lock into new designs.

So I went looking for a Rohm. It's surprisingly difficult to find a 1/2" Rohm w a 3/8-24 mount here, but I finally got one thru Amazon UK, shipped from Germany. I think I was into it about $55 delivered so that's arguably more than secondary market for the drill itself but I don't care - I use the drill for work and I just really enjoy quality chucks.

You need an entire thread dedicated to updating these chucks. I just bought two new drills and I know I am going to hate the chucks. That is the one thing I miss most about my M28 drills.

Prior to the cordless madness, the Hilti is a really smooooooth reciprocating saw compared to the older milwaukee recipro. Kinda like using a hammer drill with vibration technology or one without. That's why it's still one of the few corded tools I have in my stash....whether I use it or not, is a different debate/discussion

I have an old Milwaukee corroded reciprocating saw that is balanced. The standard model was not and vibrated much more. But maybe not as smooth as hilti.
