If you read the paperwork included with the impact driver they sent you... it should be easy to see if its a new one... I've done two warranty things... paperwork said repaired on one... replaced due to time on the other.

Might have to cancel that Patent:lol_hitti Festool beat you to it:thumbup:

That looks like a killer idea, but it certainly doesn't look like it would stand up to rolling across jobsites that do not have paved (or otherwise smooth) access.

I want to buy some Milwaukee stuff and I saw that they released the new stubby stuff.
Would you buy the stubby vs. the normal size drills? I want to buy them for automotive work.

I’d settle if the Milwaukee base had a small metal slide out in the front to just hold a plastic folding table in the front of all the other organizers..

I dont even know if it already has that.. seems like a simple enough idea..

With all the telecom stuff they are releasing, someone should make a nice portable fiber splicing set up.. as it is guys are wheeling around a rolling “toolbox” and carrying a table in the other hand.. why make all these handtruck toolboxes if you cant at least carry something else besides what they make?

Sounds like an easy mod. I look forward to see your progress...

I bought the stubby 3/8" and 1/2" impact along with the stubby hex one, they are awesome so far. After owning the 1/4" regular size impact, I just don't think I would use it, in fact it has made me wonder why I have 1/4" impact sockets at all. :wtf:

if i were to only buy one, i would get the M18 2861 "mid-torque"

https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/Power-Tools/Fastening/Impact-Wrenches/2861-20

were i to get another, i would get the M12 2555 "stubby"

https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/Power-Tools/Fastening/Impact-Wrenches/2555-20

these should suffice for 95% of what you will see with most light and mid duty vehicles.

if i regularly ran into things beyond, i would get the 2763 "high torque"

https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/Power-Tools/Fastening/Impact-Wrenches/2763-20

i have not used the my high torque since getting the mid-torque. i got a 3/8" "stubby", rather than a 1/2", and while it has been mostly adequate, there are things that are too rusted for it, but the mid-torque has been adequate for that need.

the issue, of course, is that this involves buying into both batteries. the benefit is that the small gun is much lighter with the M12 batteries.

Wouldnt be any worse that the Milwaulkee Packout cart would it? Wheels look about the same size.

Speaking of the Packout cart, how are they holding up?

I came *this* close to buying one a couple days ago but was concerned just how strong theyd be with 4 fully loaded packout cases on them, the handle seemed a bit flimsy!. Plus It seemed like the price used to be Bout $250ish and when I went to HD, it was up to $299. Too much for me at the time.

My wife keeps threatening to buy that packout system for me... I keep saying not yet. Now that we have the idea floating about modifying the system to include a table that can be carried with the system... IM SO TEMPTED TO LET HER. It would be of no use without a table. I have four portable tables... one kinda flimsy but would be so freaking easy to attach to the front of that thing. The other three would be too heavy to "add on".

Edit:... five portable tables If I include my keter chop saw table.

Does that metal handle on the bottom pull out on the base? Even just 6" would be great.

I gave it a light tug and it didnt move.

What would have been awesome if they had arranged the existing handle and added another that would have allowed you to loop an extension cord around them.

I have Replace Tool Warranty/Goodwill I'm guessing the Goodwill part is a default add on on the order summary? everything was within warranty and the tool wasn't beaten to death in a way they would consider denying a claim.

I also sent in a 2753-20 and got back a 2853-20 which is supposedly a bit shorter than what I sent in.

Cool... so you got a new tool. The tool I had "repaired" for what it's worth... was dropped off at an official Milwaukee center... while the "replaced" was sent in via UPS or FEDEX (I forgot which I used)

Anyone interested in buying my M18 2754? 3/8" impact, friction ring. Includes boot. Very good condition.

Only selling because I want one of those M12 stubby impacts :)

You know what's funny? I'm in exactly the same boat as you. Wish I had waited an extra month. :lol_hitti

I guess that means you aren't interested?

I've had this one for years but have pretty much gravitated to using the M12 impact I have, not sure what the model number is.. just because it's smaller mostly. Then I used 2763 for big stuff.

Hoping the M12 stubby will be a nice in-between

Yeah just compare the serial numbers. They don't clean up the tools the repair and send back lol

Not sure where else to post this, but I've been thinking about picking up a cordless impact. I saw this on HD's site:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...etent-Kit-W-1-5-0Ah-Battery-2860-21/304139246

Which looks like a great deal to me and what I'm looking for - a relatively compact impact that should take care of most if not all of the bolts I'll be tackling on various cars.

HOWEVER - this is the detent pin model and based on what I've read/seen I think hog ring would be better suited. But I can't seem to find this deal with the hog ring... thoughts? Is there that large of a price difference between them?

Rocket, I think I would pass on the 1/2" mid torque. If your justification is taking care of most bolts on various cars, while being compact, the M12 3/8" or 1/2" is probably the way to go. Even the 3/8" M18 impact would work. When you run into something like a crank bolt, you'd probably want the high torque 1/2".

Right now the M18 3/8" compact is the cheapest. I think I picked mine up on ebay for ~ $110 new shipped. The m12 stubbies are little more at ~$150. I would go with the stubby.

for the packout system to be useful to me, it would need to include an option for carrying two 2130/2135 style lights. i can accept that it would be an add-on, rather than a default part, but if the stack can't include some light stands, it is not something i would find useful enough to invest in.

the fold down table would be nice too, but the lights are a requirement.

For those that have recently gotten the 2780-20 (fuel paddle switch M18) 4.5/5" grinder, how many guards did it come with? and do the guards have silver latches or is there a spring/plate on the grinder you just press down?

How DOESN'T that stupid handle on the bottom pull out? HOW??? why would they not make it possible to slide out so you can carry something else with the ******* HANDTRUCK they designed??

It's a stupid handle..

Speaking of packout, did anyone else notice all the other **** they have for it now?? Tool bags, back packs, cooler..?? When??

I’m gonna have to investigate just out of shear curiousity to see if its “possible” to make that handle slide out a few inches.. this isn’t even for me.. friend of mine might be trying to start his own business, and of course I’m suggesting all Milwaukee stuff (when its the best or very good option). I wanna be able (or i should say, i want HIM to be able) to wheel an organizer around that can also carry a cheap folding plastic table too. Like one of those Lifetime plastic tables.. if that dumb handle would extend 4” - it would be perfect.

And MIlwaukee needs to make some packout pieces that dont need to be disassemble from the stack to access what’s inside.. just one of two drawer options would be nice.. just sayin Milwaukee..

I didnt go nuts on it in HD so It might very well pull out!

Access to the lower case in particular is a bit of an issue for me too. The top 2 cases can be opened on the cart with the rear handle lowered, but to get into the base, you have to remove the upper cases to clear the rear handle which is kinda stupid.

Got new plastic for the original floody to accomodate for the 12ah. The original floody is my most used Big Red Light.

I'll have to find the older threads that has the info but for anyone in the know and can sum it it

What's with the M18 6/9/12ah and the M12 6ah. Are these 3 the *high demand, high output*, aka, more wattage delivery than the latters of the lineups.

I seem to recall blurbiage than the 9AH had more power delivery than the 12 ?

Anyhow, none of the M12 suggest high output, but before buying my Stubby, a youtube video showed 4ah NOT being able to break a bolt loose, but by using the 6ah battery, it did, albit slowly :headscrat
