Thanks!
What about the electric ratchet? 3/8 or 1/2?

Its the same tool with a different anvil, only the 1/4" is smaller.

I have the 3/8, honestly i use my small impacting astro ratchet more often;

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B014KCS1KE/?tag=atomicindustr-21

Put a swivel air fitting on and it'll get into more places than the milwaukee.

The electric ratchet is good for work inside the cab however, where an air hose would be a pain and get in the way. A small 1/4 impact driver with a socket adaptor is also very hand in there.

Anyone know what the difference between the two 9" angle grinders is?

2785-22HD and 2785-21HD? The specs look identical, but not the prices.

Who here runs a M18 compact battery. I don't. The only application I can see for a compact would be for finish work - where every inch may count or for a nailer, etc.

The parts diagram (on Milwaukee's website) has the part # for the boots (if one is available, that is). If it's not there, they don't make a boot. The parts diagrams are available at product release 99% of the time, and worst-case available a month or two later.

Being that this is asked several times a year, perhaps it should be a sticky :D

My m18 1/2 compact impact is my most used impact by far, a great tool.

Best paired with their 2.0ah batteries imo.

I've been using the Dewalt 18v nicd line for the past 15 years but after my most resent house project my recip saw died and it was time to look into which system is best for me.

After much deliberation I've decided on the M12 system for home use. I like the idea of smaller, lighter weight tools. If I need more power I can use electric or my work provided M18 Fuel drill and impact.

My Dewalt drill and impact still work great so I'm not in a big rush to get them replaced. I do however need a new saw and the M12 Fuel Hackzall has my attention. I would like to start out with the M12 Fuel Hackzall and the 1/4 ratchet. What is the most cost effective way to purchase these?

I got all my batteries p-touched with a #, 1-40, etc. I rotate the usage on them, etc.
Older ones have been retired so last night, I lined up all the batteries by production date, removed the #'s and relabled all of them fresh, starting from 1-***.

LOL, what spurned the post was that I do not have a single compact battery. Boatload of 5's and a sprinkling of 9/12.

The 9's are awesome in the grinder. I like the extra weight

What's confusing about that? Go to the particular product's page. Find the link to the parts diagram. Look for a boot on the parts list, usually towards the end of the list. Not there? No boot exists. And visa versa obviously.

Give 1800SAWDUST a call and order it over the phone. You can order even the most exotic (lol) ones, such as the impact driver boots, direct from Milwaukee.

It's very, very easy.

I use the M18 2.0 battery on my surge driver and my drill regularly, no need for the extra weight of the 5.0 most of the time.

For M18 I have 2x 2.0, 2x 5.0 and 1x 9.0 currently, M12 1x 2.0 and 1x 6.0. I know that’s a small list but I’m only a home user, I have enough batteries for the projects I’m doing without having to delay for a recharge. The 9.0 and 5.0 batteries see weekly use on the gen 2 blower this time of year. I’ll probably buy a pair of the new 6.0 batteries with a decent eBay coupon, maybe a 12.0 as well for the blower. I was also eyeballing the new circular saw deal at Home Depot with the pair of 12.0 batteries.

My current tool list:
M18:
Gen 2 blower
2804 hammer drill
Surge driver
Mid torque 1/2” impact
Fuel angle grinder
Brushless impact driver
M12:
Stubby impact 3/8”
Fuel ratchet 3/8”

Tools I want:
M18 shop vac
M12 soldering iron
Circular saw
Possibly Fuel sawzall

Over at international tool the 3 piece packout is 199 like everywhere else, but they are giving an additional $20 off instantly in cart. Better hurry.

I use the 2.0 compact battery in my Surge and Brushless Compact drill everyday. No need for the 5.0 in those. I like the weight and balance of the 2.0 in those tools.

Electrical contractor here.

Maybe things have changes, but the 1/4" was rated at 30 ft./lbs & the 3/8" was 35 ft/lbs when I bought mine a couple years ago (non-fuel). I'm not a gearhead, so I don't use sockets too much, but went the 3/8" because I'm more likely to have those sockets around & rather have the extra 16% torque.

If I didn't buave to charge the battery, a 2.0 would be permanently attached to my Fuel Surge. No reason for the extra weight, especially if you want to hang it from your belt. Often i find myself with a 2.0 on my mid & high torque impacts as well. Most drilling tasks for me are fine with a 2.0, but usually have a 5.0 on the drill because the 2s are on the impacts. Unless I get the M18 lantern again, all my other tools are usually ran on 5/9s, though more lately 12 to see if I notice any additional power.

It obviously lasts longer, but my Gen 1 blower seems to be more efficient on a 12, lasting longer than the extra 33% it should over a 9. I have a feeling the 21700 cells are a significant portion of this, but nothing scientific in my testing.

HD had an online promo for the M12 fuel hackzall and a free m12 non fuel ratchet free, but it looks like they just took that deal down.

I have a boot for both my 2763 and 3/8 stubby impact...both list no boot in their respective parts diagram.

I only have two compacts, the 1.5ah batteries that came with my brushed drill/impact kit. I mostly use them with the M18 power source for my hoodie/jacket/vest or charging my phone on the go. Occasionally I use one in the Search light when taking the dog out at night.

I ASSUME that's a free second battery in the package - I shoulda clarified that earlier when I first posted this.

Demolition gloves are down to $15 if I never posted that either.

Thanks Dacan.
When I google via 49-16-** format , seems to suggest the gen 2 fits the gen3

Careful it doesn't always end w the part # of the tool it fits. I'm sure his list is correct so use that - just don't ASSume based on part # of boot ending w part # of tool. Some do, some end w an actual 4 digit tool number but fit a DIFFERENT tool

The little rover is pretty nice, but I end up grabbing the $20 HF light that swivels more than the Rover. The rover definitely comes in handy though.

Very interesting with the 2763, I stand corrected there, could've sworn it was in there.

Literally every other tool with a boot has a part number for it in its respective parts diagram, including your 3/8 stubby impact (see item 49).

I was playing with that in the store the other day. Heavy as ****.. I'll keep the regular m18s..

I'm sure it's an awesome saw - but I think for most people we're approaching the point of overkill with some of these things..

M18 powered portable winch - Patent Pending *

I see Ryobi has their own portable heater like the Ridgid now.

Anyone have the Milwaukee table saw stand for the M18 OK table saw? Any good or better options?

Thanks

People were asking about the Packout a few pages back and I can at least give my review on it. I've had it for about 6 months and absolutely LOVE this thing. For me, it's the perfect setup. My 8-5 is a desk job but I flip houses on the side. I don't want to leave all of my tools at the flip house and I don't want or can afford a trailer, and I don't want all my tools floating around in my truck and in the bed. I think I paid close to $300 for my base with wheels, the mid size packout and then one of them with the clear lids and small compartments that I have filled with different types of screws.

I wouldn't say I have all of the boxes completely packed down, but they are all full for sure. I'm in decent shape, 31 years old and 6' foot and I can barely pick up the whole unit and get it in the back of the truck. If it was any heavier, I would need to separate the unit into sections. I am able to keep it in my truck and unload everything all at once in one trip into the flip house. I have to go up and over about 6 concrete steps once out of the truck and into the house and so far, everything has held up including the handle. Everyone asked/complained about the little bar at the bottom/front of the rolling box and I think it's purpose is a hooking point so you can rest stuff on top of the packout and run a bungee cord down to it and hook on. I've used it that way 4 or 5 times and it's perfect.

I do contract some work out and every one of guys who see me working out of the packout ask about it and rave how awesome it is. I have it pretty well organized so for me it's super efficient and exactly what I needed.

It's gotten rained on as well once and everything inside was still nice and dry. Let me know if you have any specific questions on it. For me, it's the perfect setup.

Thanks, but I want to have everything electric. No air tools for me except for inflating tires and an air blow gun.
