I’ve added all of my Milwaukee tools into their iPhone app for the One-key line. While mine don’t have one-key the app works great to list all the tools. I added a photo of the name plate of each tool showing the serial number while they are still clean still. I need to add a few more serial numbers the stock photos are place holders.

Went by Home Depot today and they had the rotary tool for $69. Couldn’t pass it up. It was a deal.
...I bought the big ******* when it first came out... broke a bunch of ****... so I bought the 3/8 fuel. great little gun. then this past summer I decided to get the m12 3/8.... a month later I found out they were coming out with the stubby..so then I bought the mid tq 1/2" (mid tq 3/8 and 1/2" are the same size). so a month or so ago I bought the stubby..
the stubby is badass.. so is the mid tq. I don't touch the 3.8 M18 or regular m12 3/8 anymore. I only use the big 1/2 for flange bolts at work.
Thanks for the input. I have a high torque for the heavy duty stuff and a mid torque for the... Mid... Duty stuff. Though, I think the mid torque has handled every big lug nut I've thrown at it so far. I haven't used my high torque since I got the mid torque.
I also have a 3/8" stubby and like it as well. There are times I feel like it's too fat, particularly with the boot, but that may be more my imagination.

To echo 2 observations above:
1) extensions on impact wrenches can cause a great deal of power loss. Also 6 point heavy wall impact sockets will provide best results by far
2) the heat gun is great for heat shrink tubing. It takes longer than corded but I actually like that as it affords greater control. But yeah, it's not a replacement for corded, just way more convenient for quick jobs or in odd places (like servicing trailer brakes on a creeper, etc)

Keep in mind, the new m12 stubby is stronger than my old m18 3/8.
the snap on guys heads are spinning... not much room left...
That's awesome! Wish I had a box like that is that an aftermarket bracket holding everything in place or part of the box?
I wound up just throwing everything on a shelf works but access isn't that great.

its a snap on power tool holder from a KMP1163 tool box. I bought it on FB marketplace. I have a pic somewhere, I'll see if I can find it (with the part number)

I just confirmed that the collet and nut from my Dremel fit. Searching “Dremel collet set”on Amazon shows a well reviewed set for less than $7.

I put a cutting wheel on the mandrel, tightened the collet, and within 15 seconds (under no load, just holding the tool) the mandrel bent and the collet wrecked itself. I put some spare Dremel accessories on it and it’s been a great tool since then. It’s been a common issue that the included Milwaukee accessories were junk, but the tool itself is always fine. It has more power than my corded Dremel.

Thank you all for the input. And gts for checking this out. I guess I’m better off finding a nicely reviewed Dremel set than bothering with a warranty... I was more disappointed that I couldn’t use the tool when I needed it but didn’t think about exchanging parts with my corded Dremel...

I’m not sure that would be considered a warrantied part.. - maybe it is, i dunno. But the fact you can walk into any Home Depot and find a bunch of replacements in the dremel section on the peg hooks, leads me to think it might be considered a disposable part.. BUT - i will admit, I haven’t had one break on my m12 rotary, and i cant recall replacing any on my dremel or rotozip either..
No matter what - the thing should not be breaking so quickly. I’m wondering if maybe the bits need to be inserted more before you tighten them down. I really only snug mine up since its not really meant to wrenched down like a bolt. Could just be defective.. but yes, any Home Depot of lowes should have them on the peghooks right with all the dremel bits from what i recall.

I love how we all preach about how it pays to stay within Milwaukee because its all one platform that can use the same charger and battery for everything.. yet we all wind up with 10 chargers anyway.. lol
I have most of mine screwed into the side of my basement staircase.

This is old news to this group. But I pulled out some of my older drill/drivers and compared them to the new M12 equivalents. Some pics of my older small drill/driver and “big” Makita.
The M12 is shorter and heavier than the Bosch and it’s insane how much more powerful it is. Definitely not “equivalent”.
The M12 1/2” drill and 1/4” hex driver next to the Makitas. I’ve had these Makitas forever and love the impact driver but the M12s are smaller and way more powerful.

I'm looking to get a new light, and was wondering what you guys suggest. I recently got the HF Braun worklight that is generally well reviewed, but my first one was defective (wouldn't charge from USB) and I haven't opened the replacement yet. I wasn't thrilled with the ergonomics. Was thinking about returning it and going Milwaukee. I'm deciding between the M12 Rover and USB Pocket Rover. They're both around the same price (after using the return free battery trick on the M12), but the Pocket Rover comes with 2 batteries and external charger at the moment. That kit appeals to me because I already have the hardhat headlamp that uses the same battery, but takes a while to charge so it would be nice to have spare batteries that I can rotate around. But I also have plenty of M12 batteries, so that shouldn't be an issue with the M12 Rover either. Which light do you guys like better? I will mostly be using it for automotive stuff (underhood lighting) and general around the house stuff. Is the M12 Rover overkill being more than twice as bright? Will the pocket Rover be more convenient due to the size? I've got a HD gift card that will allow me to get only one at the moment, so what's my better option?
Also, I've been looking at the M12 Compact Vacuum. Is it as bad as the few mentions I've read about it? I want something cordless to keep the cars clean, and do some quick dusting around the house. I would consider the M18 Vac, but it's almost twice the price plus I don't have any M18 batteries so I'd need to buy at least one (I do have the M12/M18 dual charger).

I’ve got the M12 Rover seems like a great light so far and I live the magnetic base. Also has a wide light trajectory.
Interested in the mini vacuum too. Just drilled out a couple of holes for handles cabinets. Had to carry my shop vacuum across the entire house. Seemed like a great case for the mini vac.

Most say skip the mini vac and get the 2 gallon (0880-20). I have no experience with the mini but I own the 2 gallon and I love it. It works very well for the odd jobs around the house and for vacuuming out vehicles. I also use it to vacuum area rugs as well. Having everything stored internally on the unit makes it very convenient and easy to store and it's got a lot of power.

The M12 vac is terrible. Don't waste your money. I have a 2 gallon porter-cable that works ok. It's not as powerful as a full on shop vac, but it'll **** up most stuff. I assume the Milwaukee one will be at least as good.

How did you do the square holes?
I made this on my cnc router. Square holes were cut with a 1/8” bit.
I like being able to charge 6 batteries at once on my way out the door at the end of the day.

I got the USB rover, and absolutely love the size. Only negative is the wimpy magnets on the back, though the end magnet is great. Almost something you can carry around all the time. I love it for finding **** in my car, usually sits in a drink holder while "in storage." My next light will be the newer folding USB light. Think I'll pick it up with a giftcard I have to one of the tool sites sooner than later. The M12 light is great too, but I gifted mine to my brother & my second one has stayed in it's packaging, partly because I also have the M18 rover (and stand light, m12 lantern, USB flashlight, oh and a unboxed radius light).
just decided to order the 2114-21 folding rover.
Guess it's going to be daylight, all night at my place. I'll be like that transformer that blew up in NYC, but more of a ominous white glow seen from afar. I hope Milwaukee doesn't release Christmas lights

I have the 445 lumen headlamp (the hard hat one. I need to find a suitable pad to replace the rummer one. It's not comfortable for more than a few minutes on my bare head), so that's why I was thinking about the USB Rover because it currently is available in a bonus kit with an extra battery and external charger for the same price as the single battery kit

Since it uses the same battery as my headlamp, it might be a good match. Although since my headlamp has the same luman output, maybe the M12 Rover is the smarter choice. Ugggg. Maybe I just need to sell some stuff on eBay and buy both!
For underhood lighting the m12 uhl is excellent, the clamps work well, the angle of the light is adjustable, the colour and brightness is perfect. Totally worth buying if you have m12 batteries already.
I also have the rover and the stick light, both are useful, I use the rover under the car for exhaust work, etc, the stick light is less handy for auto work because it doesn't have an adjustable angle base or magnets. I am thinking of making an adjustable angle base that screws into the back and unfolds over the battery like the USB light.
The uhl is also super useful as a portable led baton, I've used it hooked onto the rafters of the log store while splitting wood and hung on a couple of nails while cleaning out an old shed.

I attached mine to a baseball cap. I threaded it onto the size adjuster on the back, and wear the cap backwards, which helps keep stuff I knock loose from going down the back of my shirt. I also installed a shell inside the cap so when I hit my head on things, it doesn't hurt (great for under the car).

I have the 2351 M12 stick light and more recently the little 2112 USB. I find myself reaching for the 2112. It gives more than enough light and its smaller size and magnet make it a better tool.

But I do seriously recommend to get the 2114 USB rotating clip light its much more usefull and 100 lumens brighter than the 2112. I know the xtra battery promo seems like a great bargain but use the light correctly like not leaving it on the while not actually needing it and the two hour runtime should easily get thru many jobs.
I have the M12 Rover and it is my favorite light Rig up a hanger hook and it one bright underhood light...yes indeed!
It will cast a wider light pattern than the USB and is good for many things of larger scale like lighting up basements, attics and barns.

Skip the M12 and get an M18. I have the compact "teapot" vac and last time I was at HD it was $79. Even at $99 it's worth it. I haven't tried the 2 gallon shop vac but I've heard great things about that one too, especially if you need a wet/dry vac.

Do yourself a favor and throw out the collet and mandrel that come with it. Put some Dremel accessories on it and you'll be alright.
I put the stock collet, mandrel, and cutting wheel on mine. I turned it on under no load, just holding it out in front of me, and after 10-15 seconds the mandrel bent and the tool shut off from the horrible vibration. I threw those out, put a Dremel collet and EZ-lock cutting mandrel in it and it was perfect, no vibration at all.
It wasn't just a fluke, there's similar experiences all over the internet. I almost took the tool back until I started reading reviews and everyone said to toss those parts and use quality Dremel parts. The tool itself has no vibration, and more power than my corded Dremel.
