That would be awesome for working in a scissor lift as well

Sent from my SM-G935W8 using Tapatalk

A tool tray might be better for that. Most scissor lifts are open frame. That tool apron probably works better leaning against a flat surface. Nothing a thin piece of plywood wouldn’t fix though. We have a scissor lift, and theres an banged up, deep metal tool/parts tray from Altec hanging off the side on the pipe rails. It actually seems like it works pretty good.

Ive made tie wrap holders, tool holders, and and a “holster” for the impact out of pvc pipe to make life easier.

For a quick price comparison on tool aprons.. to be fair, most of the people leaving comments on the Instagram page dont know what they are looking at.

https://www.linemenssupply.com/collections/tool-aprons

At this point, I’m not sure why Milwaukee hasn’t made their mid torque impact with a 7/16 drive option. Pretty sure the torque specs are about the same, and a smaller lighter impact gun would always be nicer. I think even the current 7/16 impact is still based on the gen 1, 1/2” high torque model. At least as of a year and half ago, cause thats about how old the gun i pictured is now (not at the time of the pic).

My assumption is being bigger de-tuned gun, allows if to NOT break smaller bolts used, and would help improve longevity of the tool. I have the 1/2” mid torque at home in the friction ring option, and i have the 1/2” to 7/16 hex drive adapter too. If i had the pin detent gun, I’d be more willing to bring the mid torque to work just to see how it does. I think the real test is drilling, cause it’s definitely strong enough to just tighten some bolts up.

I wish they had a 1/2” to 7/16 hex converter that you could tighten down onto a 1/2” drive. Just something to make sure it would stay on there.

Just a heads up. Got the fleet farm add in the mail and they have 20 bucks off m12 bare tools. So soldering iron and dremel type rotary tool is only 49 bucks. Thinking I'm going to pick one of each up. Already have most of the other m12 tools I need.

Not sure what shipping is, but those are great deals. They have the rover light for $59 and fuel ratchets for $129.

I think it's been posted but if you need to warranty a 9.0 you've gotta call 855-702-7152 and they'll start a claim and send you a special prepaid box. I just started a claim today.

Woohoo. I think Milwaukee has answered my prayers. I just saw an ad for a new portable battery powered 4 gallon tank spraying system capable of 120psi.

Washing/rinsing my black hellcat with distilled water just became a lot easier. No more hard water spots and I won't even have to dry it off...

Is there an issue with them? I have 3 or 4 of them I think and don't remember any problems so far.

I saw that too and thought it was neat until I saw the price tag. If I remember right it was around 400 bucks for the sprayer with one tank. Pretty steep for what it is.

I could be be wrong, but I *think* that was for a battery&charger/sprayer/tank bundle.

Perhaps just a bare sprayer (with tank) option could offer better affordability

Dont know if anything has changed - but you could only air ship lithium batteries up to a certain watt hr. (If thats the right term). I cant remember if the 9.0 was just under or just over that limit - so that MIGHT be what all the fuss is over. They may be sending out boxes just as a precaution for those, cause I’m sure people have sent them it just rolling around inside a box, and maybe it specifies ground ship only with “lithium” stickers all over the ****** thing.

I just had another good Milwaukee product idea.. since they’re going after the utility industry - they should make an M18 collapsing tripod arrow sign with a bunch of little blinking amber caution lights for road work. Even if it was just a small arrow you could rotate to point in either direction.. ive never seen anything like that. I want one.

$4k would get you about this much packout.

Patent the idea, license it to Milwaukee for $4000 in Milwaukee gift cards/month + 5.5% sales.

I have a much better tool idea for Milwaukee anyway - and all it is is repurposing something they already make. All it needs is a plastic accessory. That one I won't give away. Lol

Although I might have already in here. Lol I can't even remember.

The case the tools come in!!!

Has anybody modded the magnet in the back of the USB Rover light so it's actually useful? I really like this light, but the weak magnet on the back makes it hard to put it in a good position. The magnet on the end works great, but the weight of the light makes the back one useless, the light just slides down the surface. Any ideas? Any pics? I'd rather not just epoxy a big ugly magnet to it

I have had the light since it first came out over a year ago and did not know it has a magnet on the back/clip. Yes the magnet on the end is a little weak at times. I am gonna have to see when I get home how bad it is, must be useless as you state because I never noticed it sticking to anything that way lol

I like the rover light, hate the magnets. Fell down once (stuck to a truck frame of all things) and hit me in the teeth!

A couple weeks ago I pulled it off of an oil pan and the magnets stayed there, all the plastic disintegrated. Have not taken it back to Milwaukee yet (or even checked to see if it's warrantable).

The magnets are really strong, but I think there's too much plastic surrounding the magnets (and it's slippery plastic) to be as effective as they could be.

I have two of those USB rover lights. both have hit the concrete multiple times, neither suffered any damage greater than a scratch on the plastic or two (but not the lens, at least not yet). I would imagine that was caused by a molding failure. I am sure they would warranty it without question.

How are they for dexterity?

No idea... i wear a size large or I’d know.. usually any of those cold weather work gloves is a compromise. You cant have warmth without insulation, you cant have dexterity with a lot of insulation. \

I have these $50 waterproof work gloves advertised as for guys that work on oil rigs. They ****..

I get by using insulated Carhartt’s - and the new pair i bought for this year i just coated in Sno Shield (beeswax) to help waterproof the leather. Applied 2 coats yesterday - I’m gonna do another where i throw the gloves in the oven (which is what i did yesterday) - AND - I’m gonna melt the wax first and apply with a brush. Gotta say though - i am pleasantly surprised with how they came out yesterday. I ran the kitchen faucet with my hand in the glove, under the water, and everything just rolled right off.

Gonna do my boots too.

Not to get off topic of Milwaukee, but, A pair of gloves called Memphis ice ninjas has been going around work, they are terry lined and have different rubber dips, they are awesome and 9$ on Amazon, we are unsure of the longevity of them but I think they will last a good while

Does Milwaukee sponsor mythbusters? Haven't watched the show in years.

I think that this is just "regular" lithium battery stuff. I just bought a blister pack of six 2032 batteries, and the box had a huge lithium warning label on it.

Nope, they're particularly freaked out about the 9.0 and it is specifically exempted from e-service:
https://www.milwaukeetool.com/News/Safety-Notices

Signcrafter, there's only an issue with MINE, it would be a standard warranty issue but for their concerns on the 9.0.

They gave me a claim number & per the email I received they're sending a box UPS Next Day and they're very specific it is to be shipped ONLY in their provided box and packed exactly per instruction

The problem with my 9.0 is unrelated to any safety concerns AFAIK - it simply doesn't hold a charge, basically.

Otherwise any li-ion battery can legally be shipped in just about any box with proper, color UN labels (and a few other restrictions like the battery is supposed to be in a plastic bag, etc).

Hmmm....

I am in the process of abandoning 9.0s for the new HO 6.0s. Have six 6.0s and three 9.0s, think I will only key two 9s, and I have two 12s.

How do the sizes run? For $9 I'll try em. Do u own any of the Milwaukee gloves to compare how they fit? Cold weather stuff usually seems to run a little big. I normally buy large work gloves, but medium insulated gloves seem to fit better.

I just did another wax coat on the Carhartts. They are saturated for sure this time. The leather is so soft and the color is so dark they look like it's 20 yr old leather now. Wish I woulda known about this years ago. Boots are next. I'll post a picture of the gloves later.

Went to use my USB flashlight last night and after a minute it did the battery dying flash. Thought I hadnt used it much since last charge. Got me thinking is the battery LSD not that great. With the USB rover or flashlight they always seem close to dead when I havent used them in a while, so now I think they drain slowly while not in use over time.

I assume you are storing them in the device.

has anyone done any research into how m12 and m18 batteries hold up if left on the tool?

those batteries seem to hold onto a charge if left sitting in the cabinet. but since I have a lot more tools than batteries, I usually don't store them attached. but now I have a situation where it makes sense to store an M12 battery attached to the tool. will I find the battery drained a month later?

You bring up an interesting point. Most of my M18/12 batteries are stored off tool in a drawer, but my M12s in the house are on tool and never an issue there. Perhaps the USB lights are always stealing a little voltage over time. I would assume not as havent seen that with other Milwaukee tools.

Any LSD battery can only hold its charge by itself, it can not prevent whatever device it is in from stealing the juice over time.

I think I might have to perform a long term test.

2 yr old glove on left vs a brand new one on the right that has 3 coats of wax on it for waterproofing
Since Mikwaukee doesnt make cold weather stuff - this is what I'm using. The wax works great so far.
