But I don’t blame you at all. I still got a genuine/warranty-able BNIB M18 battery and genuine standard charger for what may still be considered a decent price even after all this time! You’d have a field day selling stuff here in TX. People think all of their junk is gold. The other day I sold a new 5.0 and charger in 2 hours after posting the CL ad. I guess pricing things “New England” style (aka what it’s actually worth) has its perks

I'd be all over that. I need at least 2 hours of mowing time on a single charge, and Ryobi's 75ah and 100ah batteries supposedly last 2hr and 2.5hr. My biggest gripe with the Ryobi is that the tires are too narrow. My yard stays wet until July and I'd get stuck for sure.
My riding mower is the only OPE I still need to buy gas for, and I'm on about 3 acres.

I'm rotating between five 6.0 m12 batteries in my home built rig for my two nebulizers... a single battery lasts two days of several hours of use... I have been draining them completely prior to charge... been doing it since the day these batteries came free... so over a year. Zero defects... Zero loss of use has been noted.
I use the batteries steady for about 30 minutes several times a day.
The one rig that is contained in a small backpack gets hot but not too hot. I try to pull it out when possible.

Does anybody have the 700 lumen USB flashlight? I recently got one and I do like it, but the battery life is horrible. Milwaukee claims 4.5 hours on high, but there is no way that is true. I did a run time test today and I only got 2 hours 20 minutes until it died and wouldn't turn back on. Plus it seems like the light automatically switches down to low mode when the battery gets low, so I had to keep turning it off and back on to get the high mode on for a few more minutes. I want to like it because I like the design and I already have the hardhat head lamp and USB rover so I have a few batteries and the external charger already. But how can Milwaukee overrate the run time by so much? Aren't they usually better than that? Am I missing something?
I have the flashlight and don’t think it is anything special—not because of runtime but because of size and brightness. I don’t have enough experience with it to comment on runtime. I have more experience with the lower power pocket flood that uses the same battery and it won’t do 4 hours in high do I certainly wound not expect the more powerful light to do 4. I think what you are getting — around 2 hours — is probably about right. Milwaukee’s claims are “up to” the listed run times. Not sure what ideal conditions wound actually give those times. Maybe they are with the spare battery option ....

I would imagine that the "up to" runtimes occur during intermittent use. Something like 1 minute on, 10 minutes off.

I would assume advertised run time would be constant use. it certainly is nothings like laptops and phones.
maybe it is a battery issue. can you swap with another device?
I would either take it back and swap it where I bought it, or I would warranty it.

I tend to agree with that assessment. It should be close to advertised times. At least this has held true for just all of the other battery platform lights
My only experience with the USB rechargeable stuff is the 2114 but it does take and hold a charge well.

I have about 4 of these USB batteries, and I've tried a few different ones in the flashlight. I've only done a run time test on one of them, and I only did that because I noticed the battery indicator turning red after what I thought was light use. Unfortunately, since I've cycled a few batteries around, I don't know which one originally came with the flashlight so it's hard to tell if it's a defective battery or not. I guess I should do another run time test with another battery and see if I get a similar time.
If it was close to the 4 hour mark, it wouldn't be a big deal. But half the stated run time is kinda crappy. Like I said, I'm surprised because with the few M12 batteries I've tested, they meet or exceed Milwaukee's started run time when used in a light.

well, I would figure out if it were one specific battery, or if more than one seemed to have the problem. if they all do, I would assume that the light is the issue, and return/warranty it.

Just ordered the Milwaukee lineman hawkbill fixed blade knife off eBay for $20 shipped. Looks like they have 2 versions now. The standard, and a blunt nose variant that can be attached to the end of a fiberglass stick, like a tree saw blade. Not sure why, but they have one..
Also - and I know this will interest maybe 2 other people on the forum lol, but they have pole step remover bits, and drive hook / J hook remover bits for the 7/16 drive impact. Less expensive than I imagined for something so specialized. Maybe one of you mechanics can find a wierd use for them.

Called Milwaukee today to find out if the service center is open Monday Presidents day as was maybe going to take a ride there, supposedly it is open.
Asked if there was a date code cutoff on the faulty 9.0 and they said they dont know that, it hasnt been communicated.
Part of the reason hitting the service center was the hope that for bad 9s they would just swap it out right there. Guess they dont do that, they all have to be sent in the special packing setup to the special department.

Pop off the covers and measure the voltage of each cell. You’ll need long-ish (~3”+) security torx bits or drivers, I think a T8 and T9 (IIRC). They should all be the exactly same or very close, within a hundredth of a volt. The ones I would keep an eye on are the brown LG packs.

Wanna hear a crazy battary swap. Dewalt warranted a 40V (OPE too battery). They made a 12 inch square pallet for it too (freight regulations) and they shipped the dang thing via freight !

Why not make heated liners instead of complete outer garments? Im thinking (thin) vests, long johns, socks etc, but particularly gloves!
I have hands and fingers that ache severely in the cold, they basically turn into dead stumps! Hard to handle screws etc. with no feeling. Id love the heated gloves but there is no way I can justify $300 for something that is essentially a wear item with the way I go through gloves. Now if they offered heated liners you could wear inside a typical leather work
glove so that when they wear out, youre only out the cost of the leather gloves Id be interested.

Ya know those chemical hand warmer packets aren't too bad. I have a case of them. I shove one I to the palm inside my glove and it keeps my hands warm. It's a little akward getting used to, but they do work when's it's really cold out. Like single digits...
I was out working yesterday in the snow storm with the freezing rain for a few hours - and It was so nice not having my gloves become sopping wet. That Snowshield / Beeswax waterproofing I treated my leather Carhatt Insulated gloves with worked great. My Milwaukee demo gloves were soaked after 20 minutes a day my hands started to freeze. Switched over - spent the next 2.5 hours with warm dry hands. I swear it's one of the best things I've ever done. I wish I woulda knew about that stuff years ago.
