Just speculation, buy the wacker kit get a free attachment or blower or maybe even old hedge trimmer. 99.999% guaranteed to be the deal.

The stores that sold out of the old one in my area, have the new one down in place of it. No actually display yet though.

Do you have more details on BOGO promo? I was tempted to buy the new unit this week when I could have got 15% off the $330, ~$50 off, plus 11% back on $330. So about $245 in the end. Thought I'd try to hold off figuring there would be some type of BOGO deal similar to past OPE offers.

I wonder if you the cost of the new trimmer would have been more, if Milwaukee didnt make the box much more compact?

Well I broke down and bought the M12 compact inflator. Scored a 6.0 battery to run it. They arrived today. First minor project: flat tires on two wheel hand truck in office where they were delivered.

Insert battery, press power button, set pressure, press start, tires filled and device off on its own.

I am really going to like this one. Since this is the addiction thread, I know you will understand.

Looking at the M18 jobsite fan. Anybody have comments on it?

Thanks, Bruce

I stopped by the local HD on the way home and they had the new Quik-Loq trimmer for sale. The display was the old version with the new version price on it.

Not sure if I want to see if I can get them to price match the Rural King price or wait for the BOGO deals on the new stuff.

I dunno about all the bickering but virgin batteries often flash error for me, you've gotta pop their cherries and push them on the charger harder.

But if a rep confirmed they're bad, ok.

See if there is a way to get him back out, saying he left something. Then mention some video footage you may or may not have. I know we lost a digital camera to Comcast way back when, now I'm tied to them like dog on leash, that is if I allow them back.

See I don't really plan on switching from Milwaukee as I'm decently invested into it, but occasional home use when they do package sales like you mention makes them a better option than going red. My biggest knock on Milwaukee is they set their sales up well but never what I need or want and it's always the same stuff.

I considered this option but m12 bare tools were a better deal. They were for home use (circular saw and multitool)

Yeah you have to play the deals right, I guess it's just frustrating sometimes with the prices they are charging and they discount the usual stuff all the time.

So this guy is saying NPS 2019 is going on June 6th. He also has some patent filings to talk about possible new products.

I just picked up the new string trimmer yesterday for $50 off + $35 guftcard. It will stay in the box until spring, and hopefully I'll have the Gen1 sold by then. Anyway, played around with the display they put out that morning for a couple minutes. I was not thrilled with their safety release switch for the trigger. Reminds me of the grinder with paddle switch. Before pressing on the top lever, there is an additional spring loaded mini-lever that has to be pulled back. The whole design seems overly cumbersome and the lever doesn't seem to stay pulled down after actuating the trigger, getting in the way be of my hand.

I can't see me getting rid of the new one, but I think I'll be disassembling or glueing/taping to "fix" the safety switch. :pimpflash

Fascinating, THANK YOU!!

I feel like somewhere here somebody had previously dug up and mentioned the application for the LP-powered charger. I could be delusional though

After seeing Ryobi has a 40v tiller, I would like to add that to the list of Milwaukee wants. Probably would be best to have it use 2 batteries at a time.

Thank you for sharing this. I did a little bit of digging into the details of the patents and it actually looks like a vehicle jump pack is in the cards (section 16 on last page). Man, I gotta say their use of the super capacitors in these new tools is friggen elegant as hell. THAT'S what I'm talking about, Milwaukee. THAT is how you keep 18v relevant against the competition.

Very curious to see how they manage to keep the 18650-21700 hybrid batteries balanced with the different discharge characteristics. I've been waiting to see if they'd go this route, cool that they actually might be.

Packout powerstation - pretty slick with some DC pass through connections - I wonder if that's for parallel hookups :shocking: It'd be really slick if it's pure sine wave. Looks like super capacitors will be in those too.

M12 digital torque wrench...pretty damn cool.

And it can be all yours for $54,987.99 ;)

That seems like an unexpected solution to the M12 & new cells issue. Old cells in the stem and new cells in the base, complicating it like that can present issues, especially on charging.

M12 mini chainsaw.... dont know if that will ever happen.

The torque wrench seems like an unusual venture.

Framing nailer perhaps finally, but how much is it gonna cost, nailer prices increased a lot partially from tariffs.

Some new M12 tools here. I was actually looking to get some extra batteries and i got a drill/multitool bundle for $100 at HD instead. A daily special i think it was for about the same price for the bare batteries alone. The multitool turned out to be immediately helpful with some projects i was doing. I read some reviews totally trashing it for not having a toolless blade change, but seriously how hard is it use the hex wrench and i don't plan on using a variety of other types of blades on it?

The drill i have zero use for since i have like 3 other cordless drills including the same m12 model. May throw that up on ebay for $30 to get rid of it.

I also picked up one of the 3" cut off tool and while that works fine just shows me how crappy that shop vac is i hooked it up to. It is kind of a slick design with that detachable dust shield and guard. That is recommended as well.

LOL.... like that Bosch model they have oversees. You could use the M12 cutoff tool for as much kicks to open packages.

While cool, it would costs at least $200. For one handed tree trimming I just grab the fuel M12 or M18 hackzall with a pruner blade. I feel the M12 one in the patent is kinda dangerous, I like having 2 hands and 10 fingers.

I would absolutely buy an M12 chainsaw just for the novelty of it, and to open packages AvE style.

Cant remember if pricing was previously announced, the M18 8.0 $199 and M18 3.0 $99, ships in April. Super charger also on Acme, ships July.

Hopefully theres a new limited special tool bundle which includes the 8.0 & 3.0, so I can get them cheap.

Seeing the pic of the Super Charger, I was wondering if they'd increase the distance between the M12 and the M18.

As it is an M12 XC and M18 12.0 are basically kissing

Looks like they can fit a 24.0 there lol

So the new HO CP 3.0 aint so compact, its the same width and length as the HO 6.0 which is bigger than normal XCs, 1" taller than the CP 2.0/1.5 and only 1/2" shorter than the normal XCs. Which isnt necessarily a bad thing, as many gun tools cant be stood up on the old compact batteries cause they will tip over. Weighs 1.33lbs and normal XC is 1.6lbs, dont know what old compacts weigh.

And it would be worth every penny to me just for the joke. I will saw my M12 Fuel Hackzall does just about everything I would use that style tool for. I doubt I'll ever want to step up to the M18 version just based on weight alone. I think the M12 chainsaw would be purely a (very very dangerous) toy and I'd use it as such. Maybe fun for tearing up old furniture or performing amateur surgery.

I'm also interested in their scene light, though I'd have almost no use for one and it'll likely be over $1000, maybe close to $2000. It gets dark early here in the winter but that doesn't stop my dog from needing to go to the park.

I mentioned Milwaukee should come out with a M12 pruner that could be used hand-held (with option to tether to a battery as well), or on a pole. Perhaps they could have melded that with a M12 chainsaw, rather than come out with a new string trimmer. The pole pruner is the only attachment that seems like a worth while addition out of the new attachments. If you have a trimmer, you have edger, and I've never seen anyone using an extended hedge trimmer, though I see that being useful at Disney World or likewise.

I don't think the width of batteries will increase for some time, so a 24ah or :shocking: 36ah should fit fine. And if they did go wider, think of all the retro-fit and re-retro-fit kits they would have to design.

Ill be looking at getting a couple 3.0 CP HO's, but as I've never ran into a runtime issue, I'll stick with 6's until deals on 8s you can't pass on start showing up. I was trying to drop down to two 12s, but now with this PackOut Power cart being a possibility, I think I'll stay at 4.

Has anyone used the pex expander? I need to replumb my house the has a mixture of cpvc and poly.

A friend loaned me his crimper but the expander looks like it maybe a better system?

Everyone I know that has the M12 likes it and it works very well. Theres always rebates on them where you get a bunch of stuff free, right now you get heat gun, PVC cutter, and a M18 battery. The powered crimpers are also sweet but more investment depending on the application.

https://milwaukeetool-rebates.herokuapp.com/#/home/ecommerce

2 things about the M12, dont drop it the heads easily break when dropped, dont let the battery die while in use else the pex tube gets stuck and can be a pain to get off.

I was thinking the same thing - I was reading this document and it states that the CP3.0 is only 15% lighter than the normal XC packs. Really not a big difference.

Got to the gas station last night....LR tire on my SuperDuty looks low....sure enough 17 psi. ...

at least I had my M12 inflator w fully charged 6.0....but it took forever to get a 275/70/18 to 44 psi. I finally shut it off there and figured I'd make it the last 25 miles home even though I had a 16' trailer behind me.

The station has "free air" but only when the attached tire shop is open and this was after hours. They pull the hose in at night.

And I guess in Milwaukee's defense the M12 inflator works probably as well as the coin operated compressors which I'm fairly convinced are intentionally built to make a lot of chugging noise while just munching your quarters.

Milwaukee, people in the trades drive full size trucks and everything that means associated with air volume and Load Range E pressures!

I guess I should figure out how to mount a York to a Ford 6.2 ;)

One use for the hedge trimmer that people overlook is using it as a brush cutter/clearer on the ground.

My family loves to use theirs for clearing paths and shooting lanes for deer hunting.

Yup after the novelty of the M12 ran out, I was also wanting a bigger badder inflator too. Maybe the packout power station will have a bada$$ inflator built in lol.

Ordered the replacement for my stolen M12 inflator, should be here in time for the first of 4 car snow tire change overs next week.

I am planning on setting up every single M12 & M18 impact I have to do a bigger test of will it take lug nuts off then I did a few years ago. Heck I am even gonna give the surge a try lol.

Got to the gas station last night....LR tire on my SuperDuty looks low....sure enough 17 psi. I think the test will include about 10 impacts.

LOL... I am only moving maybe 1 car to very good All Seasons next week, summer tires are 3 months away probably. Though I hope to have snows off all 4 cars by the end of March.

I wish I shared your optimism.

I like the rover light, hate the magnets. Fell down once (stuck to a truck frame of all things) and hit me in the teeth!

A couple weeks ago I pulled it off of an oil pan and the magnets stayed there, all the plastic disintegrated. Have not taken it back to Milwaukee yet (or even checked to see if it's warrantable).

The magnets are really strong, but I think there's too much plastic surrounding the magnets (and it's slippery plastic) to be as effective as they could be.

Rover_Magnets_1_-_1024x768.JPG

Rover_Magnets_2_-_1024x768.JPG

Milwaukee definitely stepped up to the plate and took care of this - Brand new light in the package.

That said, I think I'd rather have the 2114 light - any thoughts on returning this somewhere so I can pony up the extra $15 or so for the 2114 instead of buying it outright? Anyone interested in buying this brand new 2112-21 light from me?

Pretty sure the 2767 boot fits it. I know the 2767 boot fits the OK 2863. Isnt the 2864 the same everything as the 2863 except 3/4 anvil? There is a slight difference in the 2767 & 2863 but the it uses the same boot.

49-16-2767

I am looking for a 49-16-2864 (a boot for a 3/4" impact).

can't find one anywhere. any help would be appreciated.
