Where's a good place to get the dividers or foam for the packout cases? Got my brushless drill and impact driver from the HD 1 day sale and the packout case did not come with any dividers. My local lumbar yard could not find the dividers separate.

I'm thinking about getting the M12 rocket light for work. I'm continuously finding myself working in small unlit rooms doing layout and whatnot . How is the output for something like a 12x15 foot room?

Should be fine. I have one. It's pretty nice but not as robust feeling as the M18 models. I wish they woulda just scaled down the bigger model - but it's still fine as is.

well, lack of a small enough battery is likely the cause.

even that USB battery is pretty large to put in sun glasses . . . .

in the next few years, "work glasses" will likely heads-up features like telling you the size of the nut you touch, or that there is a live wire, or offering advice on how to take something apart.

if they kit was supposed to have them, I would call Milwaukee and get them to send them to me. if it wasn't, that kaizen foam people talked about a ways back is likely your best bet. the company everyone seems to go for precut stuff (at least for the box itself) is https://kaizeninserts.com

The special packout kits with tools never come with the dividers, trays, etc. Only one that ever came with a foam like thing was the first Fuel kit over a year ago. That one was basically the layout of a plastic case in a big foam piece that fit in the packout.

Well, when I ordered, I assumed it came with, but upon receiving my order everything was just in place using cardboard. Reviews on Home Depot indicate no compartments.
Looks like Acme has the bins for $12.50. I'll see what foam comes out to be. Is one better than the other?

Lol - i swear i think i just said we cant be that away from a cordless jackhammer.. Makita has a prototype backpack that holds 4 18v battery packs - that has a cord, that then connects to an adapter to power 18 or 36 volt tools..

On jobsites where the power power location is a couple hundred feet away and those other times when a generator isn't available, this would be pretty awesome for tasks that can be completed with a cordless tool.

note that the bins (black and red) are for specific boxes (I believe the black are for the rolling and "large" boxes, and the red are for the organizers), and may not fit your new one at all.

the foam they stock is also cut out to fit a specific box, which comes with foam when you buy it. dont know if it is the same box you ended up with or not.

Well finally pulled the pin on the M18 jigsaw I've been eyeing for quite awhile that never ever goes on sale. I ended up getting the kit with the charger and extra battery that HD had marked down for their black Friday sale.

Anyone feeling brave? 2 pack of aftermarket “3.0” M12 batteries for $24 shipped..

Assume “3.0” means “2.1” .. even still... the fact they spelled cordless wrong does not inspire confidence, but the other aftermarkets i have still work so far (although i dont use them much). But really, at $12 each shipped - how can you complain?

Upgraded 3000mAh Replacement for Milwaukee M12 Battery 12V 3.0Ah Lithium Xc 48-11-2420 48-11-2440 48-11-2402 48-11-2411 48-11-2412 Cordlees Tools 2Packs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MMZMRS2/?tag=atomicindus08-20

The 2 pack of 2.0’s are $20 ..

I'm really torn between the $329 deal for the string trimmer and hedge attachment, or for another $100 the ego setup. I'm really just after the hedge trimmer setup. I have plenty of Milwaukee batts, so I would be happy with not getting into a different batt situation. Thoughts.

^^ I don't see how eGo batts will ever be affordable compared to Milwaukee. Milwaukee is EVERYWHERE and frequent promos, strong secondary market like eBay (in part due to people parting kits from aforementioned promos), and tons of amp hour options.

I mean V1.0 of the string trimmers do quite well on a 5.0, but then you can always run bigger if you want.

I'm not saying eGo *****, it seems well-reviewed. But if you already own Milwaukee stuff I don't see paying $100 more to step into what WILL BE a more expensive platform long term. Unless eGo expands to many, many other products it's always going to cost more to keep them going

Not seriously concerned about cost of batts, just want the better product. If they are close, I guess Milwaukee is the way to go.
Wonder if anyone would be interested in buying the string attachment, since I won't be using it.

I have the eGo string trimmer and blower. Had it for over a year now and it works great. I don't have the milwaukee string trimmer, but do have the milwaukee blower. The eGo blower definitively moves a lot more air. If you watch HD, they run some good deals. I bought the blower with a battery for $99. I can trim my yard, including the fence line 2-3 times on 1 charge.

I'm a BIG advocate for Milwaukee tools and have 20+ tools between M12 and M18, but I won't be going away from my eGo trimmer.

Unlikely - unless you find an ad for the Milwaukee edge or hedge trimmer as a stand-alone product. Right now it looks like everyone would have to buy the string trimmer to get into the system. Unless I’m totally wrong.

Thing is - youll never invest in anyone one system and get the “best” available of everything. I’m sure some of the ego stuff outperforms Milwaukee’s - but I’m pretty confident Milwaukee wouldnt put out anything that didnt impress its buyers. But buy whatever you like better.

I’ve been following the release of these for about a year and they finally became available, so I ordered this one.

Milwaukee makes electric super chargers now ;)

4 times faster then standard charger. 12.0 in 1 hour.
Does that mean a 2.0 in 10 minutes?? Lol

will it do both the M12 and the M18 at the same time?

I cant imagine why they didn't add the USB battery to it . . . . . . . . would have added, what, 1$ to the cost of manufacture it. . . . . .

Has anyone heard anymore about wall mounts for the packout cases? I saw something about them back in December but haven't seen anything else regarding them.

I returned mine. Get the m18 rocket light or one of their flood lights. The m12 rocket light was just lacking in every area.

I love mine. it is a lot smaller than the M18 rocket lights, and while it throws less light, I find that it is easier to work around, and lights up the immediate area I am working in well.

a few months ago I was in a basement working in the ceiling. I found that the M12 was easy to move around, easy to position to light up where I was looking without it getting in the way, and bright enough. since I was using M21 drills, drivers, and a hackzall, not needing to bring different batteries (and keep them charged) was a huge win.

like a lot of the M12 tools, they are useful within their design parameters. if you are interested in lighting up where you are working, rather than the area you are working, or are tight for space, the M12 rocket is great.

You guys must of been MIA last month when it was announced LOL

It only "Super" charges the new HO batteries, everything else is charged at same rate as the rapid charger. It will only charge 1 battery at a time. Yes unbelievable there is no USB port on it. I would guess it draws 12-15 amps, anything more and they would have to make it 220/240 LOL

I don't get it...why don't yu get the regular Milwaukee tool only headge trimmer.. Plenty in Craigslist for around $100-120.and it is very comfortable easy usage without getting tired. .but it does not provide the long reach of powerhead plus addon hedge trimmer.

Unless yu need that powerhead and hedge trimmer add on for long reach trimming... But that's got to hurt for long time use..

Sometimes.. Ergonomics plays a major part in tool usage.. So maybe buy both and return one yu don't like.. Home depot will take returns.. It's not gas powered.

I find the size and weight different between the M12 and M18 rocket lights to be significant. Do you have both? If so, which one do you grab more often. I think thats always the true test.

I have both the m18 (gen 1) and m12 rocket lights.. the m18 is the superior model.. its bigger, brighter, more stable.. its just a more robust product if you directly compare the two. The gen 2 m18 even more so, and the gen 2 is dual powered and can be a charger as well if that matters..

The m12 is good if size and space is an issue. Its a little less bright, but a lot smaller.. easier to carry around, store in a vehicle, and its also dual powered but no charger.. there is a big difference in brightness between the gen2 m18 and m12.. the gen2 m18 is also heavier than the gen1 m18.

They are all good. They are all bright, some or just bigger and brighter then others. Its really a matter of what model fits your needs better.. if your not traveling, going in and out of houses, then size doesnt really matter. If your not a mobile professional then having the charger on the gen2 m18 doesnt really matter either..

If smaller is better for you, get the m12 . If it doesnt matter, get the gen1 m18. If you can benefit from the charger in the base, on need it to be dual powered, then get the gen2 m18. If you need to light up a bigger area - then m18. If you need to light up a whole room, and for it to be bright, then gen2 m18 because of the 3 directional heads..

Or just **** it up and buy the m12 and one of the m18 models.. lol

I think the gen1 m18 also got an upgrade too.. i think mine is 2000 lumens, and the newer is 2500.. so i think that makes the m12 1500 lumen, gen1 2500 now, and gen2 3000. But check on that.

Edit - and actually the newer version of the gen1 m18 is 2500 lumens, and dual powered also. (Mine are not).. so the gen2 m18 is 3000 lumen, dual powered also, but has the 3 sided head you can aim in all different directions.

Probably a stupid question, but is there any way to tell WHERE (U.S., China, Taiwan etc) a Milwaukee tool was made, specifically those that don't say "Made in xxxx"?

My Sawzall says on the tag with the serial number "Made In USA", but so many used ones I see don't say anything on them.
