Question for you Milwaukee diehards.
I'm looking to pick up one of the M12 stubbly 1/2" impact guns for automotive work. What's the most cost effective way to get into the system?
Buying the stubby as a standalone item and picking up a impact driver and drill combo?

Is the M18 Grease Gun worth it? Not going to use it all of the time, but just to have around, 48" hose, etc.

First off, get the stubby in 3/8” as the smaller sockets are nice for this size tool. International Tools has a promo with the 3/8” stubby, job site cooler, and $20 off; so $159 shipped. If you have any use for the M12 hackzall there have been some deals with the saw, charger, 4.0 battery, and free 6.0 battery for $117-145 recently. Otherwise pick the impact/drill combo of your choice. The stubby does fine on a 2.0 battery for most things, maybe lugnuts come off faster with a XC pack.

What cooler?![]()

Can someone tell me the difference between the 2712-20 and the 2715-20 hammer drills?
I'm already committed to 1/2", but I'll give Int. Tools a look.

What kind of socket organizer is that?
Looks nice.

Just slightly larger hole capacity 1" vs 1 1/8" and maybe slightly more power?
So they both use the same SDS Plus bits? One doesn’t use a different bit?

Has anyone used the M18 9" cutoff saw yet?

I have used the DeWalt Flexvolt 9" cutoff saw and I really liked it. I'm a professional firefighter and I drive a truck company. With a diamond blade it cut window bars, locks, hinges, chains, etc. almost as well as a 14" gas powered saw. Both the Milwaukee and DeWalt are 1/3 the weight of a gas powered saw, they don't need "started" so there's no time wasted, and they don't need oxygen to operate like an internal combustion engine does. I'm thinking about buying my own 9" battery powered cutoff saw to keep on the truck with me.
The DeWalt kit comes with two 9.0 Ah batteries for $700 vs the Milwaukee kit with two 12.0 Ah batteries for $900, but for my use the overall run time isn't a huge issue.
Does anyone have any real experience with the M18 saw? I was impressed with the DeWalt and I'm fond of the price point, but I do have other M18 tools...
The 1 1/8” model is stronger (maybe bigger) drill. Go on the milwaukee site and compare the specs. Its a little heavier and i think delivers twice the blow force..
I had the smaller one. It was great for smaller holes, and basically you could do a 1” hole in tough concrete like 18” -20” deep - but you ain’t gonna do more than 1 or maybe two on a 5.0 battery. It you only have smaller shallow holes to drill, like 3/8” or 1/2” for anchors its great. You can do a bunch of those. And its great for doing a larger deep penetration hole if you only have to do a couple. (It all depends what youre drilling and how deep)
Milwaukee also makes another model - almost identical to Bosch bulldog. I had that one too.
Cordless only makes sense for a tool like this if they arent used very often for long periods. If this is to be an all day type tool, and used hard, the batteries wear out kinda quickly esp if those holes arent small and shallow.
Mine were used to just drill a couple small anchor holes, and then do 1 or 2, 3/4” or 1” holes through a building just to run a fiber optic line. Thats basically all it needed to do in a day. Cordless was a HUGE benefit to not have to run extension cords. HUGE..
M12 multi tool is super weak. it's way better than nothing, though. I haven't used the m18 but in quantitative reviews it's weaker and slower than most other brands' multitools.Opinions on the M12 MultiTool performance? How much better is the M18?
Just had a ToolUP ad for some Cyber Monday deals...all with free XC starter kits (3.0Ah)

HD supposedly has a single battery M18 Multi Tool kit for $99 (Looks like a 1.5Ah battery) Friday I assume that's in store only deal![]()
I really doubt I'd go out of my way to get anywhere near that store just for that day to grab one
Good deals on those. Anyone run across a deal on the 1/4" 2485-20 m12 grinder?
Got some more FENIX lights on order for some holiday presents....and went shopping for batteries as well. I don't by that many 18650 but I know roughly what good panny/sanyolg/samsungs run for.
I've never done the math until last night. But when I ran the #'s of the cells per battery pack in a M12 9ah, costwise, it's more or less the same as if I was buying standalone cells for other -electronic goodies-. I can now see other will buy it just for the batts....
We use the 2712-22DE now and I just wanted to know if the 2715-22DE was basically the same just with a little more power. I wasn’t sure if it used the same bits.
Compared to the other corded/cordless multi tools that i have used, i like the Milwaukee M18 the best compared to an actual Fein tool. It performs almost as well as a corded Fein (not the Super Cut model).
The M18 can **** down a battery pretty quickly, so the M12 must be lighter duty and/or ***** down batteries faster.

Went from none to this in a year and a half.
I think I have a problem...
And I still have a wishlist of a few more....
