Yeah they are also my least favorite. Though lately they are all playing games with coupons, shipping, and tax.

I cannot reiterate just how much I hate trying to buy ANYTHING from TOOLUP

The 2554 3/8" Stubby bare tool is on sale $141.11. theres a MIL25 Promo code for $25 off which brings it down to 116.11 a pretty good bare tool price...

Now I go to checkout and the web page adds $16.12 shipping and $9.43 for sales tax! My state sales and use tax is only 6% WTF here... it should be just $6.96

Even on a slight chance that tax was applied BEFORE the MIL25 discount it still only be $8.46

I absolutely hate Toolup. No sale is ever really a sale with them. It ended more than the original purchase price :lol_hitti

In my 6 years or so years of buying M12 & M18 Red Lithium Milwaukee cordless I have struggled thru only 2 purchases from them though I easily have over two dozen tools

Yea, that's annoying, but still seems to be the best price on the 3/8 stubby bare tool that I've seen, even after taxes and shipping.. The international deal wasn't bad, but I don't need the cooler nor do I want the hassle of selling it.

I'll gladly pay the xtra and buy from a straight shooter like ACME Tool or CPO and I'll buy when the "right deal" comes along

I don't even know why I want an M12 tubby :lol_hitti

But the ToolUp deal is out there for those that want it

I still haven't found the "right deal" for me on the M12 sander/polisher either. Tool Topia has the XC kit with 3 added compact batteries for slightly over $200. What I really like is the bare tool for $125 or even LESS. HF Fright AC DELCO clone KIT with one compact can be sometimes had for less than $100 I have had a rain check for months and months for just $89.99 but they never have them in store stock. I just don't think the one small battery is enough and by the time you add another well I'm getting closer to Milwaukee bare tool price range, and I do have enough of those batteries :pimpflash

I'm also kind of pissed I missed out on the free 2767 with a twin battery purchase from Blaines yesterday morning. By the time I seen it they had subbed 5.0's @ $179 for the twin pak of 6.0 HO (and they were $199 IIRC)

Then when the High Torque was gone they then subbed in the 2754 compact until the 5.0 batteries where gone :wtf:

Read somewhere else where someone said they were told have 900 more coming in so I'll guess I keep watching for that.

Oh well my M18 Multi Tool and blade kit got ordered trouble free..so far :spit:

They charged tax on the pre discounted price and shipping. In my state, if the discount was classified as a rebate, it would be taxable. A sale price would not be taxable on the discount applied. And shipping is also taxable in my state. TOOLUP may be doing it the right way and the others haven’t caught up yet.

Well if it makes you feel any better, I just found a full sized electric bosch brute jackhammer laying in the street this morning. Lol. It's now in the back of my car. That's my Black Friday deal. Anybody wanna buy a jackhammer?

Speaking of lighting, I think I need to stop wasting my time with cheap work lights and just get some sort of Milwaukee light. I'm looking for something that can light up underneath the car, light up a wheel well, and perhaps even light up a small work area in the dark (corner of a room, etc...like a replacement for a plug-in halogen work light). Looks like the M12 rover might be a perfect fit for this. Small, sits at an angle, long run time, etc. Any others I should consider? I'm more partial to M12 vs M18 options since I have the most M12 batteries.

This looks like a decent deal on the M12 Rover ($54.99 bare tool):
https://www.cpomilwaukee.com/milwau...pact-flood-light--tool-only-/miln2364-20.html
that's a good deal, also consider the M12/m18 lanterns and the 2360 m18 flood light which is on sale now (buy with 4.0 kit at home Depot for 199 and return the kit, dunno what the price comes to, I think $85?)

2360 m18 flood light is the most direct halogen work light replacement, it's pretty nice

The m18 version is more versatile. The light actually flips/swivels/folds.. so you can aim it where ever. Granted the way the magnetic base is and how you have to aim it using that is slightly retarded, but its a pretty good light. Oh, and it has the clamping base as well.

I just love my M12 Rover made a wire hook that slides under the clamp an on top of the magnets and its a great underhood light or can hang just about any where like on a water pipe. I have it hanging off my HF toolcart lid now...so I can see in the box

I'm telling you guys the USB 2114 rechargeable light is amazing for such a small package tight quarters like a wheel well, working in small area like closet or pantry or bathroom it's all the light you need. And the best thing with LED'S

NO HEAT like them old halogen lights

Lest you need that out in the barn in winter time :D

Agreed, I bought one a couple of weeks ago that included the extra battery & standalone charger. Found out there's another one that includes the extra battery & a power source/charger but oh well.

It's my new favorite light. I have the first USB Rover that I like too, just as bright, but the magnets ****. The magnets on the folding USB Rover are so much better.

Yea, that one originally caught my eye. But the M12 Rover sale price at $55 is cheaper, up to double the output, and uses M12 batteries I already have. So for me the rover makes more sense, but the 2114 def looks like a nice option as well!

kctyphoon, how are you liking the newer heated hoodie you got the other month? I saw your previous post mentioning an earlier version you returned due to lack of warmth in sleeves. Happy with purchase? thinking of grabbing one. Thanks

The new one (and the one i returned) were both jackets. So far the new jacket has been in my car most of the time. Still hasn’t gotten cold enough here yet, and I’m liking just wearing my Carhartt hoodie right now.

I like it, but it just feels heavy. Lol. I dunno, i need more time in it. The older soft shells were so light and comfortable, like barely wearing anything. This isnt like that.. when it gets a little colder ill start wearing it more. I got 3 other guys wearing heated hoodies, (they wear em under jackets when the temps drop) and they love em. I have one laying here around and for the life of me cant find my others now. I may do some experimenting this winter. We shall see.

Its a really nice jacket though. Looks nice, made real well - thats for sure.
As we speak its covering my newly found jackhammer in the back of the car. Haha

Side note - i went walking around HD just to see what they had today, and left with a $48 Wyze starter kit. I’m fascinated with this thing. 2 door sensors, motion detector, WiFi cam. Cant believe I never heard of this thing before. Guys should check that out. And a $15 battery tender. Also, HD raised the price of those heavy duty ratcheting straps they had in the holiday tool section from like $8 to $12 now.. lol

Thank you.

If you have a Home Depot nearby - the hoodie and jacket are probably both out on display with one you can try on. The size they have out will probably be XL. The jacket offers more heat zones than the hoodie (it does the pockets too). One thing to consider too - depending on how much time you spend outdoors - is (i think) its a lot easier to swap in a new battery on the jacket, opposed to the hoodie if you are wearing it under a jacket. The older hoodies were even worse, since the pocket for the battery was in the back, but on the INSIDE of the hoodie. At least now (I’m pretty sure) the newer hoodies have the pocket on the outside too.

If you get a jacket, dont make the mistake of layering up under it like you normally would. You wont get any benefit of it being heated. I usually just went with a tank top and long sleeve shirt under the jacket in winter, and that was enough for me with the heat on.

Thanks for all the responses about the teapot vs square vac. I’m going to go for the square. I bought an m12 rover light for work on cars and honestly, not such a fan. If you don’t have a lift and your working under the car, then it’s good. For wheel wells, I felt it would always end up blinding me. If you make hangers line someone posted then it could work for Underhood but I have a neiko Underhood for that use. My 2 cents

Honestly MOST LED lights Milwaukee puts out are much too bright for a lot wrench work. I cant even use the majority of them around my motorcycles (talk about be blinded )

I find the old M12 stick and especially the swiveling M18 which stands on it base nicely my most useful two in the garage and they each have hanging hooks. And I did put a magnet on the M12 (but not the Milwaukee accessory one). Hanging the M12 Rover underhood isn't perfect and it is mainly directionally focused on one side or the other but it does light well the top of the motor on whatever side you put it on.

1000 lumen output and up... its a lot. A real lot And some go as high as 3000l (pivoting rover floodie and tower) Good for lighting up a room for drywall work, painting building outdoors like a deck at dusk etc. I find them great for all the unpowered old barns at work I lite em up like broadway. :D

The old but still popular hex lantern Rover I have two and the little M12 Rover I use the most along with the original M18 tower for my construction work.

But I keep saying how much I like that USB 2114 strong magnet 3 light modes and large carbineer clip I started keeping it right on my belt when for getting into the darkened barns and works great in the storage coolers too lighting really ***** in those

Yup smaller can be better :thumbup

The underhood light is incredible, I use it all the time even under the vehicles. I even hang it inside the vehicles with both doors open for interior work.

I love mine. I have both the M18 & M12 stick lights & they are the same brightness but I use the M18 much more cause it can stand on the battery pack. I only have 2 M12 tools & ended up with extra 2.0 batteries, rather than selling them for next to nothing I got the M12 stick light to make use of the batteries. I could live without the M12 one since I like the M18 better.

I have the USB Rover lights which are way brighter than the stick lights. The stick lights aren't that bright by today's standards but are bright enough, even the Dewalt one is brighter. I don't often need something brighter. They have a nice color output, neutral, slightly on the warm side but best of all they have really good run times and I'm only using 2.0 batts on them.

Ya almost forgot about the how Milwaukee used to pitch the color spectrum with some of these lights Tru View I think they called it :headscrat. Was designed especially with wiring insulation colors in mind as some colors like pinks reds and purples really are hard to discern under more common yellow lighting. I remember one of the first times I used one of the sticks the color was just great! :D

Almost as amazing as getting my cataracts fixed :lol_hitti

Well I ended up buying a 2 tool combo from
Home Depot on the internet on Black Friday.
It’s the 12V Brushless Drill and Impact combo
with two batteries and charger. I also bought
the two extra 3.0 Batteries and charger kit so
I could have one tool at work and one at home
with two batteries and a charger each. I ended
up spending $125.14&1/2 cents per tool.
I only found a better deal on ebay but when I
tried to buy, it said the item wasn’t available.

I got the heated hoodie last year, the pocket for the battery is on the outside on the left rear side. I love that hoodie, even without the heating element on it keeps me really warm. The only think that seems to make it struggle is wind but that is with any hoodie. I also have the Axis heated jacket which I picked up last year and it works great in the wind/rain.

Evidence of my prior Milwaukee addiction. When they moved production overseas, I kicked that habit.

That circular saw is still my saw of choice after all these years.

I felt the same way. It took years for me to buy another Milwaukee tool, and there was the whole switch over from the original 18V NiCd tools which were mostly NOT made in China... the V18 batteries that sucked... to the M18 tools.

These 3D printers didn't exist, at least outside of multi tens of million dollar R&D labs, so who would have known that an adapter would have shown up... eventually. I probably would have needed to buy 2 more sets of NiCd batteries by now, though.

Consumer level USA made power tools don't exist anymore, and forget about cordless tools. Makita used to differentiate their blue tools as made in Japan and the white ones were the cheaper made in China ones.

DeWalt is the only big cordless player in the USA to be making an effort to have "USA assembled" tools.

There's Festool, but the parent company doesn't bring everything over to the USA from Germany/EU. Then there's the 3x and more price differential... and then there is still a limited selection compared to Red, Blue or Yellow here in the USA. Fein is even more limited in selection and just as pricey.

There's a lot of useful Red, Blue and Yellow stuff out there now. Yellow is the best choice for some USA content though.

I have that sawzall and two of those circular saws and used them all the time back in the day. Now I have the m18 fuel sawzall and m18 fuel circular saw and haven't touched a corded version of either tool for years.

I scratch my head at "When they moved production overseas, I kicked that habit". Almost all power tools are made (or supplied with parts) from overseas. Does that mean you don't use any newish power tools?

No. I mean I stopped buying Milwaukee at that point. I went 100% Porter-Cable at that point. We all know how this story ends.

I'm not sure if it is the same sawzall or not but I have a very similar made in the USA super sawzall back at my parents house my dad bought in the 90s. I used it recently when I was visiting and it doesn't have the nice newer quick change blade feature but that thing is build like a tank and has some serious juice behind it. Even though it isn't brushless (obviously) I see no need to leave it sitting in the box unless I just can't use it because of the power constraints. The tool is still more powerful than damn near every reciprocating saw I've ever used. I haven't tried the new brushless ones yet but I can't think of something that the new ones could cut through that the old beast can't.

Right tool for the job, nothing wrong with the plug in tools.

That being said, I have an older plug in Milwaukee circ saw and I've never liked it from day 1. It never had enough juice IMO. I let some other people use it and they loved it. Contrast that to my new fuel 6 1/2" circ saw and I LOVE that thing. It kicks my old circ saw's teeth in power wise and it is just flat out a better tool overall.
