Anyone use their m12 hackzall for trimming/pruning branches, etc... Or should I step it up to the m18 hackzall?

I'm sure I can find other uses for it, but right now it's the best one I have and also an easy way to convince the old lady.
Get a trimming blade and it has worked great for me. Nice and light weight.

I use the M12 non-fuel on my trees. Like Marina said, use a good pruning blade and it works fine.

Awesome, thanks. Saw the m12 + batt and charger was going for around $100 at HD lately. Can pop that charger in my car trailer, so a win-win all around. :)

Ive been meaning to take the multimeter but never have to the packs. I have about 50 packs and when not in use or I don't plan to use them for -awhile-, I rotate them (all have a # on them) and just use them till I observe it's on the (third) charge light.

50 packs!! Woah that must be hard to care for. I have a total of 10 lithium-ion batteries and that's including ones from different brands.

Sh!t, I would need over a 100 batteries then.... I mean all my batteries come cheap from my selling hobby, but even I know my limits lol.

I think I have 20-24 M18 batteries, 25+ M12's, and 10 USB's

I VOTE ONE FOR EVERY TOOL!

When using the grinder and such, I go through them pretty quick. Sometimes the battery will get -warm- enough that I'll just swap it....

Remember, like all batteries, heat kills them. The most recent threads on battery management were right my alley on (things to be on the lookout)

A picture is worth many words, if I didn't see this photo I would have thought it's a joke, but now I think you're a dealer... :)

I wrote a short review on my blog recently on caring for lithium-ion batteries, involving the practice of keeping a battery partially charged when not in use, but when your collection gets this big...

I too follow the rule of swapping batteries frequently, on my DeWALT DCS570 I swap the 5AH battery as soon as it reaches 2 bars when the situation allows, this way it functions at full speed and is good for the battery as I'm only shallow cycling it rather than using all of its juice up.

Holiday break, I did some organizing as well. Discharged a few 18650/21700 to 3.7 and put them in the fridge as well. I have a ~few~ too many single cells as well.

I don't do that with my Red Packs though. Ha, maybe I need to move some of the wife's produce around

You went the extra mile by storing them in the fridge, nice! It's probably not wise to move those produce...

I put mine at the basement during summer time, in the winter I place them on a window sill which will keep them at around 5 degrees (it's cold in Canada), making my neighbors think I'm using them as decoration.

I usually go a little lower according to my tests 3.6 should be around 55%, it seems to be relevant to the exact chemistry, I see NMC commonly used in most batteries I took apart. Recently I acquired some big batteries taken from a Chevy Volt, apparantly it's at 0% when at 3.5... drastically different from what I'm used to seeing.

Over 50 for me too!

My wife thinks I have too many batteries.

In M18 I have 4x 9.0, 2x 4.0 and 2x 1.5. In M12 I have 1x 6.0, 2x 4.0 and 3x 2.0. Not even one battery per tool, I have a dozen M12 and eleven M18 tools.

After showing her that picture, I'll move her thoughts to the past tense! :lol_hitti

I don't much about LIPO. Just got some 3S packs for my toddlers toys. In my organization, while no swelling and what not, I threw some of the tenergy's out. Somehow, my gut was fearing a house fire.......and these are always discharged to a storage state as well off the iCharger setup

I'm the exact opposite PP. The M12 in my lineup is inflator, caulk/adhesive, propex tool and I think that's *it*. My soon to be added to the lineup is the propress.

Hmm... I've yet to throw out any batteries... recently I noticed some old Nokia phone batteries became "thicker", they used to be very flat. Now that you mention it, I should probably get rid of them instead of risking to use them again. It's true that some lithium batteries can be dangerous.

I sure wished I had some cool toys powered by lithium battery when I was a kid haha, back then there were mainly rechargeable AA batteries which die pretty quickly

The only M12 tool I own at the moment is the 3/8 stapler 2447-20, I've been aching to get the surge hydraulic.

Which would you recommend between these two M18 Fuel grinders: the 2780-20 paddle, or the 2781-20 slide switch? Looks like the 2781 is typically +$40, why is that?

Well, one has a lock and one doesn't, seems to be the only major difference.

Ironically, the paddle switch advertises: "Provides increased comfort and ease-of-use when operating in various positions", while the Slide Switch "Reduces user fatigue"....

Could also be a matter of popularity, DeWALT's DCS334 and DCS335 possess the same features as a jig saw, but the 335 is more expensive being a barrel grip. More demand drives the price down.

Depends what you want to do...lock on is usually great for doing wire brush work running sanding discs or general grinding chores. Just remember run time is somewhat limited with battery tools

So Paddle type often handier for shorter bursts, like quick cut off work using a thin disc. Plus has brake for quick stop when you release.

Some people do not care for the lock release on the paddle switch

Your call really...

I do have a slide switch M18 grinder

Excuse the lack of Milwaukee - just want quick opinions and ill delete..
Listed this locally... Seem fair for $150? I’m NOT shipping this ****.
Sawzall, circ saw, drill, flashlight, 2 impact drivers, charger, bag, 5 batteries but only 2 working.
Old - but They literally look brand new.

To become seller, you first have to convince yourself that your stuff is good, not **** lol.

Judging by the look they appear to be NiCD am I right? For a pro this wouldn't be a particularly good investment, especially when 2 of the batteries are dead (you're gonna disclose that?).

On the other hand, yes the tools look very new, and it includes a variety of tools. Do take an even better photo though, I recently sold a corded saw from a low end brand for a very good price locally because I took very nice pictures.

I'd put a price of $200+, just to give some room for haggling. Pricing it high makes people think your stuff has more value. In the end they're gonna want you to come down, so set up a minimal final price for yourself.

Disclose? Yes.. its written in the ad. Not looking to rip anyone off. In my mind, that’s a reasonable asking price. I just wanted to ask other people if I’m crazy.

I have been known to change my cat picture often. The current one is my QUEEN. The image is when she was about 3 or 4 weeks old... just rescued... just bottle fed (chubby tummy). She is now an old lady... 15... has severe food aggression towards human food... if she wants it... you give it to her or you bleed... it's your choice. Currently she is going thru a bacon fetish.

Honestly... If he was closer... I would consider buying that lot... I have a battery guy that would take the bad packs and reload them with new cells.

No way I would drive to Staten Island tho… they talk funny there.

I was in a Quick Check about 2 weeks ago (i work/live in Jersey for like 10 years now) all i said to the cashier was “thank you”. Guy asks “youre from SI arent you”..
when i worked in northern jersey EVERBODY asked if i was from Boston. I have no idea how people confuse those.

You sure it doesn't actually belong to a big cat family?:) They all look cute when small... just like humans do

I think I saw a youtube video where a guy discusses whether or not it's worth while rebuilding batteries with new cells, in the end it comes down to cost. Buy a new batteries and purchasing cells individually didn't differ much according to him, and you'd need a extra high power solder to melt those contacts on. I'm interested in how your battery guy copes with this. It does sound like a good practice as you're reusing the plastic case and contacts which would otherwise go to waste.

Dogs are better.

This topic deserves a thread of its own, as both dogs and cats wander in garages, and fight for the place of man's best friend, it's one of the biggest questions out there: cat or dog :lol_hitti

Cat.

I like dogs, but am not in a position to have one. Someday.

Almost any dog will love you to death at first sight. Nothing wrong with that.

It is different when a cat accepts you... and then ignores you again :)

Dogs vs Cats is simple.
Both.
I have one of each.
EVERY TIME I get home, first thing I do is take my shoes off and put my flip flops on. EVERY TIME I get home, the dog takes one and pays me back for teasing her with her tennis ball.. EVERY, SINGLE , TIME. Milwaukee needs to make some of those Velcro patches so I can put one on her tactical vest.
Speaking of vests, I bought the 10 pocket Milwaukee safety vest yesterday.
