[Fix Until Broke]

This little grinder has become one of my favorite tools. It’s my first die grinder. Can anyone recommend a bit for getting rust out of all the nooks and crannies without removing too much material?

I agree, blast it or soak in evaporust, then use a hand wire brush & soak again if necessary.

Best place to get bristle discs?
The price on those adds up fast.

I bought a box of 10 white ones on Amazon for $60 shipped, best price I could find at the time. Shortly after I received it a box of 10 white popped up on Amazon Warehouse for $48 shipped. Bought that & returned the first box. Only the box was slightly damaged, nothing wrong the discs at all.

I have a valve cover gasket to replace and need to clean the aluminum heads up. You think those kind of finger disks or some scotch bright pads would be better? I can't wait to use my RA for this job. Did it by hand on the other side and it was a pain in the ***!

That's exactly what I use the white bristle discs for, mainly for aluminum gasket surfaces but other stuff too.

Just ordered a box. Now all I need is the proper rolock holder for it and I'll be ready to do that valve cover gasket.

I found some yellow ones on ebay, made offer for $6 ea 4 qty.
Should be enough to get me started and see how I like them.
The green ones are about $70 for 10 on amazon.

Just fyi... Bristle discs;

White = 120 grit
Yellow = 80 grit
Green = 50 grit

Can't go wrong with the 3M ones but they're expensive.

I've been using the HF ones for about 20 yrs. Bought another one last yr from HF when I got my RA & the quality is still the same, the ones sold individually & not in the kit.COO is Taiwan if it matters to anyone. Mine run just as true or better as the 3M one (not that it really matters much).

I remove the locking nut though, shorten the threads on the shank, then threadlock it in. I do this to shorten the height. Not much but helps fit in tighter areas but with the MW RA it's fat anyway so really it's unnecessary. Still I like the shorter height.

I had the brushed M18 Hackzall, then sold it & got the Fuel when it came out. Can't believe how much better the Fuel performed. I love that M18 Fuel Hackzall. I don't even own a full size Sawzall anymore, don't have a need for one as the Hackzall takes care of pretty much all my needs.

Runtime will be determined by amp hours of the battery and what you have plugged into it.

The largest battery for the unit that I see on their website is 6 amp hours and the unit seems to hold 2 batteries.

That compressor looks very tempting. Not sure it's tempting enough to make me ditch my 25 Gallon Craftsman oil-less electric.... but it's really tempting.
