What are people using for replacement cutoff wheels for the 3” cutoff tool? There are a lot of options of multipacks online.

why do you just go rent a 14 gas saw line out your cuts and just cut everything in one day. then return the saw. and the break out the pieces over however long your working on the project. its not like once you cut the concrete its going to just come right out. hell depending on your cuts it wont even move i bet. like we have had to do footing where we cut on a big 3 feet wide and say like 10-15 feet long in a l shape. one day we mark it and cut it then for the most part the saw will never be used again in the trench. then we take the jack hammer and start at one side and brake it out piece by piece. there has been times were we do the cut and then dont even touch braking it out for month later down the road.

I'm replacing a sewer line that runs across the entire basement. So, while I'm reasonably sure where it goes, I'm not that sure to go cut it all at once. I suppose I could cut a wider slot (same amount of cutting as a narrow one) then if I'm not right over the pipe it's not too big of a deal. The pipe is 24-30" below the floor.

The other concern is the smell/fumes, but I can put a fan in one of the windows and send the rest of the family to the park while I'm cutting.

I'm warming up to the idea...

For all you who are still on the fence about the M18 chainsaw go ahead and take the plunge. I by no means are saying it’s a replacement for heavy chainsaw applications however it works awesome for what it was designed for. I cut up a tree that fell at my aunts house today. It was around 10”-12” in round and had 3 big upright branches that fell. I was using a 12ah battery. It worked awesome!!!! Super impressed. Plenty or power and very light and quite. The first picture was before and the second/third was after the first 12ah battery went dead. Basically all that the first battery left was the main trunk, it limbed and cut up everything before that. Would recommend it to someone all day long. Used a total of 3-12ah batteries and cut a bunch of stuff up with that. Very impressed.

I bought some of the abrasive disks and they work but are dusty and get used up fast. I did not want to buy more of the expensive fiber disks from Milwaukee, which I also burned through pretty quick. I bought the 3 inch Lenox metal max. That thing is awesome. I have not used it up yet and put it in last year.

Does anyone know if the 49-16-KITC (#8-600mcm) dies will work on the 12 ton machine? All literature states it's for the 6 Ton machine. However, it looks like a standard U die to me? The one designated for the 12 Ton (49-12-KITC) is $1300 vs $800 for the one up to 600mcm.

The kit I got was the Aluminum set since that's the majority of our work. Of course next week now we have to press 600 and my largest greenlee copper is 500.

Thanks Firefighter1406 for the M18 chainsaw write up. I have used mine for some trimming, but have two trees that will need to come down in the Fall. I think it is great for my needs. I have only one 12ah battery, but a couple of 9ah batteries, so I should be good to go.

Anyone else surprised by the lack of or crappy the father's day deals?

You would think sales have been down the past few months and everyone would be anxious to have some ‘doorbusters.’ Clearly that’s not the case. This Father’s Day was even more disappointing for tool discounts than last year.

Exactly, I just got my first 10% Depot coupon in 4 months, all the offers were 24M no interest. Whens the last time acme did 15-20% off purchase, don't like the X dollars off Y purchase.

When I was in Home Depot the other day I saw a big pallet covered in cardboard with signage that said "so not put Milwaukee Days items on floor until June 24" (I think that was the date). This is in Canada btw.

I tried to peek but couldn't really see much. Looked like I could see the M18 starter packs, so probably a "buy the starter pack get a free tool" type deal.

Home Depot's Q1 sales were up several % year-over-year, and it doesn't surprise me as the stores stayed pretty packed throughout the entire "lockdown". Profits are a different story, as they're spending more to keep the stores "safe".

https://ir.homedepot.com/news-releases/2020/05-19-2020-110030159

Many people had extra money (stimulus) and extra time at home (restaurants closed, beaches closed, golf courses closed, etc) which lead to home improvement stores doing fairly well.

After several months of hesitation, I finally bought the Milwaukee leaf blower with some Father's Day gift cards at Home Depot. Works like a champ, glad I finally bought one!

Got my first Milwaukee head lamp in, 2111-20. This thing is a beast! I was planning on going into my crawl space to try and finish up the last of my low voltage coax/cat6 runs for the house this coming weekend so I should be able to take it for a test drive and see how it works. From just playing with it out of the box I already like it more than my other head lamps. The only exception is it is a bit bulkier and heavier. This is designed to work with a hard hat however so I'm not surprised. I'm looking forward to the extra light I'll have vs my other head lamps and the rechargeable setup instead of swapping out batteries is going to be great too.

You’ll need a Chiropractor after wearing this light on your head for any amount of time without it being mounted to a hard hat.
Also, The REDLITHIUM USB battery is proving to be the weak spot of these head lamp and flashlights that utilize the platform. Sure they have a 2 year warranty, but when you bought the light to assist you while making a living with it, you’d rather be using it than waiting for it to charge or having a replacement sent to you from Milwaukee.

I was in the market for a new edger and decided on the trimmer/edger combo with an 8.0 battery. The timing was right as our youngest son takes care of my MIL's yard for us and needed a new trimmer. So he will get my solid shaft setup and I get some new tools:bounce:

A couple notable differences between the 2 versions including a different style safety button and the new one has a longer shaft.

I had heard the flash lights were problematic but nothing about the battery. Maybe the flashlight breaks so fast they don't get a chance to wear out the battery.

I'm a wrestler and I keep my neck in shape but I'll be honest, I've still been wondering how that weight is going to make my neck feel after 2-3 hours under the house.

I have both trimmer too. The older version has noticeably less vibration, especially on high speed.

I used to wear the 2111 frequently with a welding cap whenever I was wrenching. After a few hours it'll still hurt my forehead a little 'cause it's not REALLY meant to be worn without a hard hat.

I recently got the 2115 and can't believe how much more I like it. Fits better, brighter, just better all around. I often forget I have it on. The only downside would be the battery on the back of your head if working on a creeper or something (I pretty much always have vehicles on the lift)

I've had some troubles with the USB batteries but not that many.

I do have a standalone charger that seems to have a defective threshold for low voltage because it won't charge batts I've fully depleted but the same batts will charge in the tools or other chargers

I have a 2115 coming as well, glad to hear that one is much better. The 2111 can be reserved for camping and quick jobs like night time BBQing if it turns out to be too heavy.

Nice work !

It looks like you have some experience with a chain saw ! Cutting a fallen tree where the weight is contacting the ground in more than 1 location can be tricky.

How long do those 12Ah batteries take to recharge ?

Kinda don't realize how massive this thing is until you get it home.

Regret not buying it long back when it came out for 400-coupon, there's only one store within hundreds of miles that carries it and it's never clearanced, they keep getting supply every few months.

Wife paid for it, $400+tax. I would never pay over $350 lol

Wish the power strip wasn't below the handle, seems counter intuitive to me.

If you don’t mind me asking what did you give for it? I have seen a couple guys get them on clearance for like $125.

That’s a very good wife. Mine just bought me the rear handled circular saw so I can’t complain. Hope the cart works out good for you. Defiantly heavy duty.

M18 transfer pump started losing its mojo. Finally got to the point where it wouldn’t prime anymore. Popped it open and realized the impeller has seen better days. I have honestly beat the **** out of this poor thing so shouldn't be surprised.

Replacement impeller is $34. Ouch. Doesn’t look like this takes generic utility pump impellers either. Anyone have any luck tracking down a secret source? Dimensionally these seem to be similar in size to the 6 blade impellers used in Jabsco and Johnson ballast pumps which are about the same price. Maybe if I pay to play I can at least get a matching red one?

Trying to warranty it seems lame as it’s a wear item although I have a couple of 9.0 batteries that need to go in and Milwaukee is overly generous with their warranties.

So that is what one of those transfer pumps looks like after it has had a hot supper.

If it is under warranty, submit the claim. Worst thing they can say is sorry, that is a wear part. It is covered under the cost of buying the new tool for them anyways.

Feel like giving us a review of the pump after having given it a hard life? I've been curious what the real world results would be with this pump and it looks like you put this one through the wringer.

Well, this *****. My string trimmer is broken.
Took a fall and the main housing is cracked (swan dive off deck railing, landed on a stone wall). Shaft is also slightly bent. Lights on it work, but the trimmer does not.
Luckily the 8.0 battery that was in it seems to be fine.

What should I do here? Take it to a local milwaukee repair facility? This is not a warranty issue, also don't want to deal with shipping it. I'm guessing it is toast. Bummer.
Edit: added pic.

If you could let us know what you find including part numbers I'd sure appreciate it. We work the hell out of two of them at my canine non-profit, pumping from a 400 gal truck tank to small pools for the critters in the summer. Each pump will run through four 12.0s in a day.

Unless they've changed things your 9.0s will go in separately and the whole process makes about as much sense as the COVID lockdown:

Is it the gen 1 or the newer quick lock style? What actually happens when you attempt to use it? Have you opened it up to look inside?

It isn't quick lock. When I put a battery in, the speed selector switch lights up. But nothing else happens. I didn't try taking it apart.
