As I'm watching that video and seeing him try to use pry bars on the flange I'm thinking to myself, why doesn't he just use a 3 jaw puller? A few minutes later what takes it off? A 3 jaw puller. He went in with the el cheepo pulley puller first and used an impact on it, then came back with the 3 jaw after heating it up. Anyways, I did love him breaking a few breaker bars with the cheater bar and then kissing the Milwaukee when it actually got the bolt loose.

I bought the 3/4” Furl Impact for our motorhome wheel lug nuts that are torqued to 450 ft lb.

It spins them right off, including my friend’s who bangs his on with a 1” air impact wench and a big air fed.

I haven't had any pen lights break but a second AAA headlamp broke, and I have been careful since the first one broke

I purchased a two pack of pen lights on black friday and not one but both pen light caps broke. I was very disappointed in the quality. I contacted Milwaukee (if they would have told me to send it in, i would have thrown them out), they asked for pictures so i sent them and they will send me replacements. Im still surprised how terrible the quality these milwaukee lights are. I do use them all day everyday, but my streamlight upheld the abuse and is still kicking (except for once when the known switch issue occurred). I generally love milwaukee, but this is just straight up not cool

I just broke mine 10 minutes ago. It was fine (or at least it stayed together) yesterday, today it fell off my head. Both little hinge loops are broken. I really haven't used it very much either.

If this truly ends up being the price, it wouldn't be that surprising I guess. Maniacal and unfortunate, but not surprising. Over the past few years, Milwaukee has been getting a strong buzz off of their own farts, getting more and more confident in their ability to import inexpensive and mediocre at-best products + slap their name on it + command an ultra premium price. Packout and the tool boxes are perfect examples.

The mega marketing **** can only create so much value before it gets in$ulting. I say all of this as an owner and advocate of several Milwaukee products. They need a reality check.

I haven't had a chance to look back on the 1113 pages, but what is the general verdict on the M18 blower? I would be using it mostly to blow out the garage, and for drying vehicles after a wash. I've got a big Stihl backpack blower for the real yard work.

I've been happy with mine. I have the second gen (current model). I don't have a need for a blower for clearing leaves or anything like that. I picked it up cause HD had it on sale for $99 & I was returning a corded blower that wasn't strong enough to blow out my gutters.

That's exactly what I use mine for blowing garage & excess water off the truck after wash. But I don't blow out my garage, I blow chips to a corner so I can sweep or vacuum them. Metal chips from machining & it has no problem doing that.

I wouldn't use anything smaller than a 5.0 batt on it though if you need to use it for a lengthy time. I use a 9.0 or 12.0 on mine, not that I need to cause of what I use it for but it saves me from having to recharge as often.

I’ve also got the 2nd gen Fuel blower. I actually used mine for “real yard work” last fall, and it did really well on our property of a little over an acre. I will say that to use it continuously for more than an hour you’ll need at least 3 9.0Ah batteries. By the time you burn through the third 9.0, the first one will be ready to go (assuming you’re using at least a rapid charger). My backpack blower bit the dust last year and I swore off gas-powered blowers forever - so far so good.

I like my M18 Gen2 blower too.
It has these specs: 2018 Brushless FUEL 120mph 450CFM

Much better than my Ridgid 12Gal 5HP shop vac with removable blower.
Not as powerful as a backpack blower but does the job good for me.
I use it with the M18 HD 9.0 battery for leaf blowing about 1/2 acre; and regularly blowing off a back patio.
The CFM number is impressive, the mph could be higher.

Same boat and agreed.

I looked at the Packout system, its nice, but the entry price and weight made me stick to the Ridgid system.

As a mobile system, weight really does come into play. Several of my coworkers have Packout stacks, man, they are very heavy. If transporting across job sites, loading into trucks, etc... it becomes a issue.

I have a M18 blower, but mine is the gen 1 version. It's not as powerful (but close) as my Toro plug in blower, but I use it way more because of no cord.

I clean lots of wet leaves that fall in the 2 foot gap between my neighbour's retaining wall and my garage fairly easily with it.

Plus I use it for light snow in the winter, it's great for cleaning porches around railings etc.

Definitely a buy in my book.

Yeah thats annoying and the handle is too small if you have the trigger lock on our hand still has to be near the trigger which can knock the lock off.

The best battery for the blower is the HO 8.0, it lasts longer than the 9.0 in the blower. I even prefer the HO 6.0 over the 9.0, I am so over the 9s and sold off mine except 2, one which stays in the V1 wet dry vac.

Yep, that’s all that matters.

A receipt from an authorized distributor is only required if you’re trying to warranty something outside of the time window based on serial date code, but within the time window based on purchase date.

I've noticed this but with the string trimmer. More power and slightly longer run time. 8.0 vs 9.0

It's almost like you read my mind

I have been wanting to upgrade my shop vac to a Ridgid w/ the car cleaning for a while and was thinking I might like to get the version with the detachable blower. Not that I "need" lot's of power to blow water off the vehicles and debris from the garage, but it's good to know none the less. I just don't know if I want to drag that big b@stard out all the time just to vacuum out vehicles.

After that I still had 3 bars left.

Now contrast this to the old M28 batteries and M28 portaband....I'd get 8 cuts in 2" pipe (2-3/8" OD) before the battery was DEAD. Granted, the M28 batts were only 3.0s, but it's an example of how far battery tech has come

Yes of course, all of us M28 junkies know that. Most fascinating is the Fuel SDS, the only Fuel M28 tool ever produced AFAIK. When it was released (5 or 6 years ago?) I'm not sure Milwaukee even made a peep about it.

But the point is while they haven't ended the platform, their treatment of it would constitute SEVERE neglect if it were a pet. They don't talk about it, they don't really acknowledge its existence, and aside from the aforementioned Fuel oddity they haven't updated anything in well over a decade.

Most importantly, while 5.0s have been available in EU and AU for years, they seem to have zero interest in bringing them here. And now of course 5.0s aren't all that special -- they COULD make 6.0, 8.0, 9.0 etc but they seemingly have zero interest in ANY updates -- if actions are any indication of intentions.

There were also at least 2 tools never available in the States but sold just about everywhere else: a full length die grinder (with 6mm collet) and jigsaw.

But right now for Milwaukee, M28 is like that child you lock in the Disappointments Room and never speak of, and hope everyone forgets. It was, in fact, never disappointing at all but Milwaukee has decided M18 is THE way to go and as heavily as they're investing in M18 I just can't see them ever even glancing back at M28. Ever.

It's like Latin - sure, you could speak it but it's effectively dead.
