Probably should post this in Awesome... but...

Adam Savage goes over some great Milwaukee tools.
We started carrying those in my store and they are exquisite. Especially sitting next to new and old Craftsman sets!

The cases are worth the extra cost alone, we also sell the individual Milwaukee ratchets but they don't seem as popular to the old timers who just want a replacement

1 - I love Adam Savage. His videos on that channel are just great
2 - That's pretty major props considering that a whole lot of his tools are DeWalt, to the extent that I've wondered if they're a product-placement sponsor.

I just opened some new batteries from a kit I purchased 2 years ago. The batteries will not charge - blinking red/green. When I press the button on the batteries, none of the bars light up. Is there anyway to force these to charge? I'm outside warranty by 1 month.

Yeah I have cut 6"+ trees with the M12 or M18 Fuel hackzall with the pruning blades. Why would I want a M12 chainsaw hatchet with 3" capacity lol

I got one foot long hackzall blades for my Hackzall M12 designed for trees/roots... it's the bomb...

I was thinking it could be really cool for ADV/dirt biking on trails. If it has enough juice you could carry it round to clear obstacles since it is small. At 3" for bar length it might be a bit too small but I still think it is an interesting idea. If nothing else, you could use it to unbox your other purchases like AvE does with the little Bosch one =)

I guess if all you did was pruning, the "hatchet" may perform better, but a hackzall is a hell of a lot more versatile and can tackle quite a thick branch with the right blade

My son jumped into the battery tool "pool" early with 18V Dewalt brushed tools. They are still in good condition, but the NiCad batteries are dead and they never really had the power you want.

I am thinking about buying him an M18 drill/driver, but there are so many version 2703/2803/2704/2804 ? I can't figure out what is the difference. Hammer drill setting would be nice for small holes in concrete and brick ?

There's even more models than what you list. The 2804/2853 combo kit would be the top option, and always promos on them where you get something free, the kit is 2997-22.

So what is the difference ?

I want M18 Fuel brushless.

The 2804 Gen 3 is the newer model of the M18 FUEL Hammer drill. It is shorter and has a different chuck than the 2704. Gen 2

Also the clutch is electronic control on the 2804 vs the 2704.

I have a Gen 1 2604 the original Gen2 bumped the power to 1200 in lbs from 750 in lbs., Gen 3 is still rated the same @ 1200 in lb

buddy was able to get me a screaming deal on a charger, 2.0 and 5.0 batteries, and a cordless hammer drill. The charger/batteries came with a bag, which I am not a huge fan of. I repurposed my Dewalt case from 3 drills ago to fit my new one :D

Something I want to see in the M18 format: serious pruning shears.
No, not a Recip/chain/circular or any other kind of saw.
Bypass shears that can clip right through 1-1/4” vines, without my having to use two hands to make a cut.
There are some on the market, none of them from the big tool makers, but from specialty orchard outfits. Some of them are priced around a GRAND. Some are actually twice that(!)
Then we have the little Scotts and some chineseums out there as well.04b564c0042579989d943da64ea93e38.jpg a serious Milwaukee or DeWalt or Craftsman would get my attention .

Mine too. I could use one of these today for my citrus trees that are out of control.

Isn't that M12 hatchet really just a juggler's chainsaw? I wonder if anyone has tried juggling them yet...

I don’t have one to try, but I’d bet that it would not work super well. I’m fairly sure the PVC cutter blade does not close against an anvil or a shear edge because cutting PVC doesn’t require it. Tree branches and vines do, though.

Just finished putting a rebuilt trans in my 300zx along with a new clutch, slave cylinder, and resurfaced flywheel. My M12 ratchet and RA die grinder rocketed up to the top of my "favorite tool" list pretty damn quick.

After breaking them loose with a regular ratchet, the m12 ratchet was a lifesaver for running the top 4 bellhousing bolts in and out, along with removing/installing numerous m4/m6 fasteners in areas with only a tooth or two of swing with a normal ratchet.

The die grinder made quick work of cleaning up all of the exhaust flanges before putting it back together.

...and all of that without being teathered by an air hose and without a corner of my small garage being occupied by a compressor. Really glad I found the M12 line of tools and became invested in it.

I posted a few pages back about how I dropped my Milwaukee M18 string trimmer. After the fall, there was a crack in the housing, and it would not function. I was super bummed out.

Found the closest authorized Milwaukee repair place, dropped it off. Figured why not, the diagnostic fee was very reasonable in case it was dead ($10). Power Tool Repair in Tallmadge, OH.

As luck would have it, they called me back after a few days and delivered some good news. They got Milwaukee to cover the repair and labor under warranty. I only had to pay $32 with tax for the new housing, which did take a while to show up. I figured it would be more expensive, so that was a pleasant surprise!

I have about 4 hrs on it since the repair, works great!:rocker:

Milwaukee just announced their NPS replacement. It's going to be online streaming demos. You have to register to watch them as they come out. There is a preview video for the first event, most things look like new stuff we've already seen. But there is a picture of an M12 Fuel oscillating tool which I haven't seen before.

All the details are here: https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Pipeline

New Bluetooth radio/charger arrived today. So far I really like it.

I just got one.

Big improvement compared to the smaller M12 Bluetooth speaker, but the new radio is significantly larger and it appears to actually have two drivers.

It also chews through a battery faster.

I have to read up on the instructions as the clock doesn't seem to keep time when it is off.

I'd like to get the M18 Packout radio, but the $300 price tag is a big turnoff.

I know it’s not the same Milwaukee but it was recently orphaned so it needed a home.

The most importantly written instruction is always the last one you read.

Yes.

But seriously, Milwaukee could have moved that content from the end of the instructions to either the "Setting the clock" section OR "Setting the radio preset" section, because neither will stick without those batteries.

:dunno:
