So....I've had my first M12 purchase that I'm luke-warm about - the M12 jigsaw.

Good power, good battery life, but the sawdust just kept piling up in front of the base, covering up the line I was trying to follow. The blade also deflected a lot during turns.

Perhaps it was the material I was cutting (3/4" MDF)? Perhaps the deflection was the junky kit blade? Perhaps I just got spoiled using my dad's corded Bosch which has the air puffer to keep the cutting path clear and a little pair of clamps that laterally support the blade?

My main use right now is rough-cutting material before routing it to match a template, so it's more than adequate. Just a bit concerned that it won't cut it (pun intended) if I have a project that requires more accuracy.

The dust does pile up but try removing the little clear plastic piece I forget what they call it but it crosses the shoes right by the blade. That seemed to help. Also try a blade the cuts on the down stroke if your material allows it

I'll have to look into removing the plastic piece. I thought it looked removable but didn't want to break anything

Same problem on the M18 fuel one, unless you are using it full speed which blows it away the dust collects there.

Saw these on YT. Was no info on them though, supposedly leaked photos.

Holy ****. I bought Dad a yellow impact for his b-day weeks ago. He didn't want 1/2, he wanted 3/8. :headshake We took it back; he wanted to shop the different brands anyway.

He will spend years shopping for things. So even though I knew he would be totally set with a stubby 2554 and 250lb-ft, he knew he didn't want 12v.

This is a very welcome announcement of the M18 impact lineup. Now I can quit worrying about what to get him, order it, tell him to deal with it, and return to overthinking purchases for me. :rocker:

Who's selling them first?

anybody have a battery that charges to full on multiple chargers, but only shows 3/4 bars?

Its a 9.0 if that matters.

Yes, that’s happened to me before, on a 9.0 too. The cells inside the pack are out of balance. Unfortunately this won’t fix itself because there isn’t any real balance charging with the M18 system (pretty unbelievable). Or IF there is, it’s extremely crude and doesn’t work well. Cell voltages do seem to be monitored though. On an unbalanced pack, at least 1 out of the 5 banks of cells has reached the upper voltage limit which then tells the charger to stop charging altogether. If you take the case off and check the cell voltages across the pack, I guarantee at least one bank’s voltage is much lower than the others. The fuel gauge LEDs are based solely off of overall pack voltage, hence the 3 bars.

I’ve had to send in four 9.0s because of this. They become unbalanced very easily for some reason.

Is there a list of what they unveiled? I only see videos and from what I skimmed they didn’t really come out with much. The only thing I have seen so far that would interest me is the pack out vacuum and I really don’t need one to be packout.

Cool  Been waiting to replace my Gen 1 2655B for a while with another 1/2" compact. Could be the right one.

Seems a lot of folks are having the same issues with the 9.0 Does your say on the side: High Demand 9.0 or HD 9.0? I have one of each and only the High Demand is having issues.

I called cust service and they are sending a box to return for service. It will be interesting to see what they do, replace no charge, pro rate the charge, or SOL its out of warranty.

Check out the reviews on Milwaukee website:

They run these promos all the time. Been rumors of a brushless version for several years. So while yes more and more likely every year it doesn't happen, but just a rumor/myth until it appears.
Well, we didn't have to wait very long for this to come true, did we? :bounce:

I'm a frequent OMT user, but don't use it professionally. I was all set to go for the M12 Fuel OMT instead of the M18, but that "auto" setting on the M18 looks very interesting. I'll probably buy the M18 to try that feature out, and if it doesn't work well I'll just return for the M12 Fuel. My old brushed M12 OMT is about to give up the ghost, it'll be nice to get a little less noise and vibration from a new unit. Oh, and no more hex wrench to change attachments!!

Yes, this seems to be the standard failure mode for this battery, which appears to be a design flaw. Mine exhibited this behavior after working perfectly for two years. I called Milwaukee, and they promptly sent materials to return the battery for warranty replacement. I had to take the box to the nearest UPS pickup location unless I wanted to pay an extra fee for home pickup. It took several weeks and many phone calls to pry the replacement loose from Milwaukee, but in fairness this was during the peak of the Covid problems. The replacement works fine, but I hope it is an improved design.

Hey everyone,
I recently picked up the 3/8 long reach ratchet and I wanted to share my thoughts for anyone who is interested. I feel like I was somewhat misinformed on just how big the head of this thing would be. I think about Arnold every time I look at it lol. I posted some photos in comparison to a reg 1/4 brushless. I didn’t buy with intent to use in small spaces so I wasn’t so upset, but if someone is planning on using it in tight spaces, buyer beware. this thing is a tank. That con is in my opinion, a pro. This thing is so beefy, I feel that even if I need to manually ratchet something, this can handle it (even though I read that Milwaukee officially does not recommend manually ratcheting on the regular fuel ratchets). The reach is fantastic. There is so much clearance that my knuckles feel safer. It is also a bit heavy. Hope I interested someone

To add to this, I started my most recent claim (two 9.0 packs) on 5/5/2020. I didn't receive the packaging materials (which was actually shipped to my old address, haven't lived there in 2 years, 100% their fault) until the end of June, and that was after a half dozen follow ups. I still haven't received the replacements. I called last Monday 8/10 and it looks like they sent the replacements to my old address AGAIN despite me contacting them to update the claim AND leaving a note in the return package. They're supposedly resending another two to me, but it's been almost two full weeks.

Pretty maddening experience. I'm calling to check in during lunch, will report back.

Another year and no lawn mower, what a disappointment

There are at least two more "Pipeline" releases coming, hang tight

Although, it'll probably be a $1700 bare tool MX Fuel mower, so rather than hang tight you should brace for impact...

It is these two reasons why I made my own

I recently bought the M18 grass trimmer after my Echo died. It has great performance running on the 9.0 battery, but I have a HUGE area to cover and I am using 2) 9.0 and usually a 5.0 battery to complete the job. My question is, does anyone have any experience with using the trimmer with the 12.0 and if so, does it provide a noticeable amount of run time vs the 9.0?

Anyone have a good source for attachments for the M18 vacuum? It seems to be a larger OD outlet then Shop Vac 1-/4 vacuums which I thought was odd. Really just looking for a brush attachment and maybe some small detail attachments.

There's a bit longer run time, but but it's not a huge difference. If you don't have any other "high output" type of tools that you'd use the 12.0 on, I'd hunt down a bargain for another 9.0 if all you're using it for is the trimmer.

I had the 3/8" M12 Fuel ratchet... The head size, heavy weight, and how difficult the reversing switch is to use with gloves on made me trade mine in for a Mac 12V ratchet. Couldn't be happier with the decision...

Its a "High Demand 9.0" version. Those reviews are telling!

I have a authorized service center here in town, so I'll just drop it off and hope the replacement does a little better.

Thanks all, and that pin nailer is tempting :)

When I warrantied my battery the replacement made it before the return equipment kit arrived.

haha. I gave up and bought that same ryobi 36V mower. it's actually a great mower and I hadn't thought of converting it. my lawn is tiny though, I can do it on one bar of a 4Ah

I broke down and bought a battery powered Husqvarna self propelled mower two years ago when I gave up on Milwaukee making one.

Everything else is Red, but my orange mower is great. Even better, last week I got a call from the dealer to bring in my 201x batteries as there was a recall and I now have four new November 2019 batteries with three year warranties. Lol

Another year and no lawn mower, what a disappointment

The top end of my mower since last year was coming off, solution use a bungee cord to hold in place. It rattles and is so noisy, couple more month and it will have survived another year. Can't complain though the thing is over 20 years old. It would have been nice to have 1 battery system for everything.

I see the ToolguyD link above.

Also, HD had a Pipeline link on their site as of yesterday. It was embedded ad format, so I don't know when it will show for you, but growing the Milw. stiff will probably lead to it showing up for you.

I'm going to be doing some Hardiboard siding on my house soon and I was thinking of picking up the Milwaukee sheers. Will the m18 sheers work for Hardiboard? I know there are specific sheers just for the cement board. Does the m18 sheer work or can I swap the cutters out for a cutter that will work?
