Can only dream of a circular saw case.... I would buy one of those for the right price just to have & refinish the case to store my M18 saw.

Circa a decade back. I purged all my steel cases ! Never was a fan....actually as I type this, I realize I don't even keep any of my plastic cases unless it's something I might flip down the road, like the Festools. They just take up useless room

I have that same case, but my M18 Fuel saw doesn't fit in it well, so as sacrilegious as it sounds I keep my Ryobi corded circ saw in it.

The Milwaukee plastic cases really **** compared to the Dewalt cases. I’m sure the Milwaukee ones work good if you drop one from a good distance but they are way oversized and the cord storage for the chargers are horrible.

The black plastic dewalt cases are the nicest cases I’ve ever used. I wish Milwaukee would take a lesson from Dewalt on cases. Everyone at work uses bags to put their tools in but the tools, chargers and batteries just keep banging against each other inside the bags and get beat up.

3/8” stubby disappointed today. I was trying to replace the hinge on my Ford F150 removing 2 T50 bolts that are known to be difficult, it wouldn’t even budge one of them. To be fair I did have to use a swivel and I’m sure that’s what killed it

Gloves sure have gotten expensive. Been working with aircraft cable and it's been tearing up the synthetic leatherish material on my mechanics gloves. Ended up with a pair of their cut resistant gloves and a pair of their goat leather gloves. What really made it expensive though was the dual power rover light that was marked down to $99.

Yeah its always tricky to get them to close right because of the cord. Agreed they are way oversized for what they hold. Wish the kits didnt even come with a charger so the case can be a lot smaller. I'm surprised there are cases for all the new impacts. It really cant be much longer that cases are provided. I just realized theres a case for the Fuel jigsaw, wish I could get that. I really dont understand how some tools don't come with a case as bare tool, the router is a good example. Biggest waste of space case I have is for the soldering iron.

I think there are different philosophies from Milwaukee & Dewalt on the purpose of the cases. It seems like Milwaukee designs them to be able to be dropped whereas Dewalt designs them to keep the pieces just from banging against each other with just thin dividers between items.

I’ve never used a case but I love how tools are starting to come in packout cases. I remove the molded styrofoam and have another open box.

Interesting to see different peoples' views. For me, I have to have cases and hate not having cases for a few of my tools (Super Sawzall, Grinder). No matter how frequently I use the tool(s) they always go in the case and I have a shelf with neatly lined up cases I can pull out in an instant. I am often not doing work in one area (even just at home) so I especially like that my tools are always ready to go with at least 1 battery and a charger. Loose tools (of any kind - power, hand, etc.) irk me to no end.

Think I knew about the M18 tape puller. But dont remember a M18 rivet tool. Didnt watch most of pipeline. Isnt the M12 rivet tool good, is the M18 different? Must be something special about it for $800. Luckily dont need either.

I built cubby shelves for a lot of my power tools. Then the tool and any wrenches and maybe some common accessories go in that cube as well. Then I have shoe box sized plastic totes with the rest of the accessories that get stored above them. Then I can easily see what is what and quickly grab what I need. And if I'm taking them somewhere else then I have some of the half height akro-mills totes sitting nearby to throw whatever I need into for transport.

Is the price of the low profile pack small organizer -over-priced. It is what it is ? Have plenty of Red tools. This year, I bit the bullet and started some mobile organizing with the packet system. Seems a bit pricey but a double stack of that + clear tops will make easy ID for what I need in a small parts-system-.

IIf this a -a few years ago-, it would have been the Festool System which did offer drawers and what not in a stacking removable system.

Never did have a need for a 3D printer but after a brief Google. on what's out there, it got me thinking about one !

What bits are you guys liking/finding durable for repeated use with your 1/4" Hex Impacts? I find I've broken a number of non-impact rated bits even when not using them particularly harshly. Would prefer to just find a good impact-rated set that works. Whether that's Milwaukee's house brand or otherwise.

Specifically, looking for Phillips and Robertson/Square drive. I have good Torx impact bits already, but I'm fine buying a nice, complete kit.

Have been using a lot of Vega impact bits lately. Mainly P2 and torx. Some good deals on Zoro if you can be disciplined about waiting for a 20% coupon.

Edit: Vega doesn’t seem to have too many kits so have been buying them to fill in other sets of my most used bits which happen to be P2 and torx.

GE. I haven't seen a real (robby) impact square so I just stick with what I got - non impact but it's a real robby head square. Stick with that. I have used non Robbie squares tips and it is a night day difference in engagement .

For PH, I would say Wera Impaktors or Wiha Terminators. One is made in CR and the latter in Vietnam. Great impact bits though

Looks like the M18 will do 1/4" stainless, the M12 stops at 3/16" I believe.

If it's 50% faster than even the M12 model, that might be a big deal. Looks more ergonomic, too.

Yeah, I would like the M12 to do 1/4" rivets. But I don't need to do it all that often. I just use the astro pneumatic tool that attaches to a drill or impact to do those.

Astro has some reasonably priced tools you can put in a drill for those. You have to play around a bit to figure out where to set the clutch for a particular size, but after that it's pretty painless.

I know it's not quite the same, but the new M12 Rover has become my new underhood light. Strong magnet and swiveling light. Possibly my favorite Milwaukee light now along with the M12 Rocket.

Not a bad idea, but the majority of the underside of my hood(s) are covered in sound dampening material. It the magnet strong enough to handle that?

So I didnt go with Dewalt or Ryobi mower..... Just ordered the Makita.... Reason is it was a very good deal and Makita makes a vac blower which I will get, Dewalt & Ryobi dont have one. It was easier to stomach giving Makita my $ than Dewalt. I would of maybe got the Dewalt if there was a deal, even though the mower with two 10ah seems like a good price already at $399. Didnt want to miss the Makita deal for 4 batteries and $140 off.

Though the Makita vac blower may not be 5 star, I just need it to pickup small tree and shrub leaves and stuff around the pool.

I dont know. The magnets are pretty strong but my hoods all have enough metal on the underside that I have plenty of spots to stick it.

The USB clamp & magnet flood light is very useful to hook on hood latches or edges of the hood which usually doesnt have insulation.

While I have the underhood and just about every light Milwaukee makes, when I am doing an involved job I have about half a dozen lights going. Small lights with magnets or clips or hooks are always stuffed in the engine bay. The underhood while great, is not enough most of the time depending on lighting where your working or time of day.

I dont know. The magnets are pretty strong but my hoods all have enough metal on the underside that I have plenty of spots to stick it.

It is, but it's pretty great. Doesn't work on all hoods (some are too wide), but I love mine.

I have the M12 Rover too, and while it instantly became my most-used light (I have a bigger M18 2360 Flood too), the magnet is a little weaker than I'd like. I don't think it will hold though sound-deadening insulation, though you could probably find a spot in a lot of cases.

Finally caved and bought into Packout. I got the 15” tool bag and the low profile 5-compartment organizer for my electrical supplies (different size wire nuts, spacers, connectors, grounding pigtails, etc). Perfect fit, really happy with this purchase.
