Finally caved and bought into Packout. I got the 15” tool bag and the low profile 5-compartment organizer for my electrical supplies (different size wire nuts, spacers, connectors, grounding pigtails, etc). Perfect fit, really happy with this purchase.

Nice purchase, as well as a nice Klein bag. Be careful. You have just entered a danger zone. Packout stuff has the ability to **** you in and drain your bank account. . As me how I know, not that I am complaining though

Thanks - that Klein bag has been and continues to be my favorite. My better half got it for me a few years ago with my name embroidered on it, so it’s even more special to me.

I see what you mean about the packout - I’ve caught myself looking to find what other things I can buy that “plug in” to this stuff. Could get expensive very quickly.

Just started my Milwaukee journey.

I havre the 3/8 fuel M12 ratchet - took me 2+ years to convince myself to spend the money - why did I wait so long. Love it

Just Bought a fuel M18 high torque 1/2” Impact - boy that thing kicks ***. Coworker picked it up and twisted the bolt of before I could ask if he checked the setting. This replaced an 18V Dewalt that was lacking in power.

Also bought an fuel M18 impact driver after my old Porter Cable started smelling hot every time I used it the last few months building my garage.

Love the tools so far.
Small start yes - but its a start

That's a great start - very similar to mine actually (my impact driver is the Surge, but both models are great)

I was cruising a deal thread on slickdeals about Milwaukee heated hoodies. The deal wasn't that great but found something interesting. Some people were complaining that the M12 battery was uncomfortable in the kidney pocket. I don't have a problem with it unless I'm driving most of the time but it can get in the way occasionally and be really uncomfortable. Someone posted up this little guy as a solution, very interesting:

Broke down an ordered the pole saw kit. Not excited about not being able to order the bare tool, but the only way I found to get the saw and the power head and the extension was to get the kit.

Ok... I did it. I ordered the (expertly) machined spindle from eBay... to convert my 3" Cutoff Tool... into a 1/2"x18" Belt Sander.

IMG_0171.JPG

The included instructions are well written. It is actually fairly easy to switch back and forth betwix cutoff and sander.

My Astro P sander needs a 4mm hex to remove the "works" from the air tool. Zero issues... just remember to remove the sanding belt first.

Removing the bits from the 3" cutoff was pretty simple... The instructions mention a "shim washer" that I did not have... Pictured here are the items removed and will remain in a box while the tool is setup for sanding. The FOUR T8 screws are reused with both setups.

IMG_0172.JPG

Including the time it took me to walk to my toolbox 3 times for the following:

1. 3/16 hex T Wrench (to remove the cutoff wheel)
2. T8 Driver (to remove the 4 screws holding on the guard on the cutoff)
3. 4mm hex (to remove the works from the Astro P air tool)

The modification took all of 2 minutes. FYI A T8 bit is included with the kit on eBay.

I'm gonna mention something... about the modification.

When you are installing the Machined Collar on the cutoff tool... you use the original 4 screws... put each in only slightly before tightening... the holes are a teenth or so off and if you tighten the first... at least one of the remaining 3 wont go in. So just wait to tighten them... when all 4 are started.

Found a loophole at HD Canada with price matching. Getting these for $75 taxes in. How many should I keep?

Well, feel free to share for us fellow Canadians. PM is fine if you're able to share.

If you need them, keep them all. I could certainly use some of those at $75/pop!

Need to price match with a store called WM Dyck and Sons. It a lumberyard just outside Winnipeg. They have the bare tool on sale for $139.99. Home Depot will match plus take another 10% off. They currently have a promo for a free charger and 2.0 battery with the impact gun. Return the charger and battery and you’re $75 all in. Your welcome

Thanks for the tip. Has anyone tried doing price matching in Ontario given that it's curbside pickup only? Might present an issue.

Any deals on the other stuff in your images?

Also, anyone know of any deals on the framing nailers?

I've been using my under hood light a lot recently, I've recently started doing a motor swap on my Mustang. I have to say, this thing is even better than I thought it would be. It is great on the hood and kicks just as much *** under the car as it does above. Pulling the exhaust and drive shaft was SO much nicer with that giant light down there. If anyone was wondering if this light is worth it, IT IS.

It will work online. Just can’t return the chargers until the stores open. I heard of the deal from an Ontario website.
WM Dyck has the nailers for $499 bare tool. Price match with HD and get 10% off. I’m a framer, thier nailers do not work in the cold, they are also really unbalanced. I have 2 of them for my guys, and they mostly use the Impulse guns.

Thanks for the feedback. Realistically, I should probably just stick to hand-nailing or using an air nailer (need to look into how much air a framing nailer takes) since I'll just be using it for home projects. Admittedly, I have a lot of home projects but not sure how much use I'll have for a $500 nailer that doesn't even work well in the cold in Ontario or Michigan. Haha

I'll have to look up how to do online price matching - can't say I've ever tried as I didn't think it was possible (maybe a feature a brought on by covid?).

For you packout guys..granted part of what I don't like is due to the handle design.

Very mildly loaded on just the middle bin (large toolbox holding a grinder, circular saw and a sawzall). Bottome rolling cart empty and top empty. Anyhow, I'm not crazed how much play/flex there is in the handles.....

I have been seeing this bench pop up a lot on social media and I think anyone with even a minor Milwaukee addiction would appreciate it. I think a cross between this and a Festool MFT would be amazing.

Agree 100%. It's pricy, but damn is useful...

uhm...propress is like 7X more than the pex tool. Over the years, I have seen the prices on -hot sale- when I'm using the HD app and looking at tooling. Often wonder since it's tool that may not move much, is it almost@cost
