Dang, that things is 180 for just the light itself. Spendy little guy. Not sure I'd spring for one of those but maybe if I was a pro doing it every day.

Yeah - I'm struggling with the price. I love my Rover light, but this...articulated...version for another $120 is...tough... Want, but can't justify...

Are you me? I literally just picked one of these up on a whim at HD a few days ago. I like it so far, at least the magnet is much better than the Rover USB stick light, and I like that you can just stick a big 6AH in it, the battery life on the USB stick light doesn't impress me.
I was on the release pre-order for this thing, and I've really enjoyed it. It doesn't fit everywhere I'd like (would be cool if the magnet was an arm that could flip out and rotate), but boy does it fit a lot of places.
I'm six lights deep on the M12 platform. This one has replaced my M12 stick light as my favorite go-to light. Glad the magnet is built in in and not the overpriced accessory (49-24-2351) that is a must buy to make the M12 stick most useful.
M18 stick light is very first MW light I bought. Not very bright by today's standards but I still love it & use the heck out of it. Got very long runtime even with a 2.0 battery.

Next I got the USB Rover stick light when it came out. I like it too & use it a lot but as everyone knows the magnets **** & are useless to me. Had to work in a warehouse once with no power & that day I was wearing a Dickies shirt, hung the USB stick light with the clip on my shirt pocket & it worked out great.

I've also got the USB Rover pivoting light, the one with carabiner style clip. This one is really useful for me, the magnets are decent & the pivoting makes it handy. But it doesn't have great runtime. Between this & the M18 stick light, I've been using them to work on my truck at night when needed. I don't do much automotive work at night so these do the job for me & I can't justify the cost of an underhood light for my needs.

I bought the M12 stick light simply cause I found a good deal for one on ebay & wanted to make use of my extra M12 2.5 batteries. Never used it it much cause I like the M18 stick better since it pivots & is more stable standing up but now that I have this new M12 pivoting "service" light the M12 stick light may see even less use now. Kind of the same reasoning with this new one (it's what I tell myself to justify it :)), I have a M12 6.0 battery that I believe to be a fake, ebay refunded my money for it. It works perfectly fine though, that's what I'll primarily use with this new light & use my other real 6.0s for my tools.

So far I'm really liking this new one. Should be much better using to stick under my hood instead of my USB pivoting light. When it first came out it didn't interest me at all until yesterday when I was looking at it in hand at HD.

Sorry forgot the link earlier.

Yeah saw that too today. I am thinking its a great concept but may not be that ideal in the real world. For underneath work I usually have the original M18 flood plus M12 stick and maybe USB stick. I see that giant arm being in the way and it looks like getting the light in the right position might be too much work than its worth.

I've got:
M12 Hood Light: Love it, works great, makes working under the hood eons better. Haven't loved it as much working under my cars - too long, gets in the way, not "positionable" enough. But on the whole, pretty awesome. Too expensive, though I got a deal on mine.
M18 Rover Flood Light (?): Not sure if I have the predecessor to the current Gen2 product, but it looks similar and is 3000 lumens vs. 4K for then Gen2. Probably would have solved some of the situations I complain about below (if I'd thought about it), but has been a trooper in a number of tasks and I really dig that I can run it off an extension cord. If it was slightly more versatile in terms of mounting and slightly smaller, it would be a star (I may be describing the Gen2 - lol)
M12 Rover: Most recent addition. Love it overall. Wish the magnet was slightly stronger, and boy would it be cool if it could tilt and swivel, but the thing gets a ton of use anyway and has been a big plus. I spent a lot of time recently in the wheel wells of my Mini and couldn't quite find a place where it would put light where I wanted it, and had the same experience under the car.

I also have a Red Lithium USB flashlight that would be only improved if it used USB-C instead of (stupid) Micro-USB. I keep thinking I'll get a head-band light too.

All of that to say I'm probably not buying the underbody light unless I find a crazy-good deal.

That arm looks like it will be really useful with a 2 post lift. I'm probably going to buy it.

If my gen 1 mid torque hadn't been kicking so much *** on my motor swap project I'd be buying one of these newer ones on that same promo myself but I just can't justify the purchase since mine has ripped through everything I've thrown at it.

That’s how I feel. I want the newer one for the light and the slightly smaller size but I can’t justify it with how good my first gen has been. The only excuse i can think of to justify it is so I can leave the first gen in my truck for a flat tire scenario and have the new one in my garage.

Had some extra foam, sockets, and a small Packout, so I bought a cheapie ratchet from HD and made myself a metric Packout road kit for the truck…

Just an observation - had occasion to go to our HD yesterday to look for some Milwaukee string trimmer twine. This is a town of about 25K and a market area of about 120K and this is the only HD. I walked over to the outdoor tools section and zero Milwaukee. I did a second take and there were rows and rows of DeWalt and Makita, aisle displays, etc. Had to go up an aisle and looked down and saw two bins for Red but stock was very low. Not sure if this is a Covid related shortage (Honda was completely out of all product in its limited sales area) or if competitors were offering up more to get better floor position. If it's a Covid-19 related shortage - how do DeWalt and Makita get oodles of product to fill shelves in the heartland but Milwaukee is nearly clean. Intrigued - I walked over to the power and hand tool sections and Milwaukee areas there seemed to be pretty well stocked. So not sure exactly what to make of it. I found the string I needed (and a few quart cans of fuel for my Honda lawn mower) and got back to the house and finished up.

Completed my little hack installation of some casters on the M18 backpack vacuum. I love this vac, my only wish is that it was easier to move when not used as a backpack. These Everlast brand casters from Home Depot fit in four pre-existing holes. I just had to put one wrap of blue shop towels on the threads to make them big enough for a press-fit installation. Very secure fit, but 100% removable if I want to take them off. Very happy with how this turned out!

This vac does 55 CFM, the stick vac only does 32 CFM. I still haven’t found a cordless vacuum I like better than this one. The only issue I’ve found with the backpack vacuum is that the filter tends to clog up quickly when dealing with super fine dust, but it’s a HEPA filter, so it’s supposed to do that.

I wonder why Milwaukee does not simply upgrade the M12 and M18 Stick Light with more powerful LEDs, while keeping everything else unchanged. They would not be as powerful as the newer more modern Rover lights but they have a different form factors and they have hooks which is often handy.

Added the articulating hedge trimmer head to my Quik-Lok quiver and will post a review soon after it arrives.
I picked it up from CPO Milwaukee for $120 and that was good enough for me.
I have some local MTB trails close to me that are overgrown and that trimmer will save my back and allow a nice arch to be carved through the woods. I'm also super interested in the battery life of the 12AH on the Quiz-Lok with the hedge trimmer which I'll also keep a timer on.
Now to find a spot to hang it when not in use.

Nice. Please report back on how it functions. If it works as nice as one of these I need to buy one.
Will do, I’m looking forward to it. I’ve also got the M18 blower. I’ve got a property in Virginia fixing to have lots and lots of leaves that need to be blown into the forest.

It’s light and handy, good for shop and sidewalk cleanup. It’s no M18 Fuel blower, though with regards to power. It’s very well thought out. I can post pics. I would only recommend it for a very suburban homeowner (I’ve got five acres of wooded property) or for use for light work.

Thanks for the review. How does it work as an air duster? Does it have a small concentrating nozzle to blow out keyboards for example? If it’s just a low powered blower rather not downgrade from an m18.

I think it’s a bit much for keyboards, it didn’t come with a small nozzle for that. It’s fine for suburban folk on their .5 acre or less If they don’t have a lot of leaves.

Just needed to vent about a month ago someone walked into my open garage while I was in the back or inside and stole 3k worth of my milwaukee tools..... I am pissed 1k insurance deductible and he said rates would go up and we never had a claim ever..... not happy. I ended up installing cameras and an 8tb surveillance drive... I keep everything closed and locked now.... didn't replace much since it was out of pocket.

I have multiple camera systems... with failsafes against power outage / no wifi. I have cameras looking at the other cameras.

All that said. If you have the video... of them robbing you. There is almost nothing the cops will do for you. Unless they recognize the person in the recordings. BUT... it's piece of mind for sure. I let everyone know when they visit me.... you are being recorded by 16 cameras... there are more actually.

I have a temper... I'm not sure what would happen If I caught them ****** red handed... ooops... I let that slip.

Battery backup is next on the list... I hope the Cameras help make them think twice... these are poe cameras.... I thought about leaving the door open sleeping the bed of the truck with a gun.... Best part they got no batteries... and did not touch anything else because they were stupid and rushed or worse case looked at everything and will be back..... it has been a month, I put in a police report... what was taken I think... also have a security door with a key needed both sides, now lock rear gate and changed garage door to house to need a key both sides and my lift master jack drive has a deadbolt on it and I have the app and get notified when it opens.... so just to make things inconvenient so they go to the next house...

M18 fuel grinder set in blow mold case.
M18 fuel impact driver and hammer drill in blow mold case.
V28 circular saw blow mold case.
M18 roto zip in left bag and also in the bag
2 m12 chargers
2 m12 led lights
M12 FUEL die grinder
M12 FUEL right angle die grinder with red boot
Various collets and bits for rotozip/die grinders
M12 multitool and a milwaukee bit set
M12 jigsaw and 3 large sets of bits
In right bag nib m18 fuel 7 1/4 circular saw

Wifey was cool fyi and this is what I replaced all they above with and had some spares for the grinders and hammer drill and driver in the packout they didn't touch... some of this helped installing the cameras... like Denis said in another thread I didn't get any smoking deals... but did upgrade the multitool to the fuel...

Damn man, that sux. How do you like the Ubiquiti camera stuff?

Insurance companies are the worst. I had a very expensive delivery stolen off my porch last year because the FedEx douche bag didn't ring or knock and there was a guy following the truck. The guy lied about knocking/ringing. I now have cameras covering the front and rear yard as well.

Just got the ubiquity since we got gig fiber and finished my cat8 runs... was able to pull 2 spare cat6 for the camera outside and the one in the garage... works good. I also did the door bell and 2 lr wifi 6 ap. I love that switch is 48 port and all are poe+ and 8 are poe++. Expensive for home use buy the cameras are metal.... also glad I don't need to be an engineer to program them. Love the gui... so far it all just works. They are making a redundant power supply with batteries, when they do I will get it for my ups and small ups in the garage for my ont.

Get cloud storage and a Synology NAS and store alerts from your camera system to the Internet. If they steal your video storage when they steal your tools, it didn't do you any good.
