I've debated getting one of those Apache cases from Harbor Freight for customized storage.

My Milwaukee tools get tossed around enough though that it seems futile keeping them in protective cases.

A lot of those hard cases have TONS of wasted space in the interior. It might look kinda ghetto but you can cut notches into the blow molded case to slot things in. If you want to get slightly more industrious, you could cut a larger section out and 3D print a holder to slot into the blow molding for whatever you want to store in there. What you are talking about is exactly why I prefer a tool bag over a blow molded case for most tools.
I like bags for other tools but I'm tough on my drills and always find myself tossing them around. I do have a buddy with a 3d printer... might see if he can make me a couple "cups" to put in some hols in the molding and plastic weld them in. Not a bad idea!

Just got my M18 inflator in. This thing is huge. While not exactly as stated, but it's almost 3X as wide as the M12.
I have no clue on the specs but I should look it up.

I got it mainly as uses M18 batteries...
I do like the memory 1-4 options. Versus the M12, which zeroed out

I've looked at these and I have the m12 already. With it's size I'm almost tempted to just get the m18 compressor for a little more versatility. To me the heads and pumps look very similar.

Any have a good source for m12 and m18 battery holders and tool holders? My cubby I made has run out of room big time and I would like to get some of those plastic adapters to screw onto the bottom of it so I can hang some more of my tools on it. Most seem to be things people have 3d printed and are selling so just trying to see if there are recommendations for some quality ones so I don't buy junk.

M18 compressor - those addicts that have it might want to loctite the motor mounting screws. Started working themselves loose.

This thing is great. I leave it always on and charged for things that require constant inflation like bike tires. If something bad happens it will just run until the battery dies unlike my 30 gallon.

Milwaukee doesn't make one but this sounds like the perfect reason to buy yourself a 3D printer. Just sayin'...

I've 3D printed a TON of Milwaukee holders. It isn't a fast process but it is cool to be able to just print as much stuff as I want whenever I need it. Almost all of the model files are free for download.

Sounds like a great idea for a dedicated thread! I haven't outgrown my storage boxes yet, but would love to see other guys' ideas, without having to hunt and peck through this one. If there's one, I didn't fund it by searching.

I posted up my 3D printed storage stuff a while back but I've added more over time. I can post up a current pic of my setup if you guys want to see it.

That thought did cross my mind because my messed up thinking does justify spending a bunch of money to make something that costs way less. My wife hates it.

I started a dedicated thread the other day with the same question and didn't get one reply. I know there is a thread on GJ about tool cubbies or storage. Pretty sure I posted in it so I will search for it.

Here are a pair of updated pics of my tool mounting board. I have a little more space on the left side still but I assure you, I have other tools waiting to be mounted. I just haven't found a good way to get them strung up yet. I am hoping I can get 2-3 more tools up there. I also have some mounts for my drills/impacts that I haven't had time to screw in above either. I need to find a different model file for my M18 surge. My mount fits my m18 drill and M12 surge but the casing on the M18 surge is slightly wider and doesn't quite fit the existing mount I have. I'd also like to find a good holster/mount for my mid torque impact as well.

Got the M12 Installation Driver in this week and started to use it. Initial thoughts:

1. If you buy the bare tool, they're still going to send it to you in the large case that you get when you buy the kit with charger. I wish they had designed a smaller case for the bare tool set.

2. If I had thought about this I would have realized it before I ordered it, but you can't use the offset head for drilling unless you have drill bits mounted in a hex base. I need to get a set of those.

3. Seems powerful enough.

If you are using the case to travel with the tool, it’s nice to be able to pack the charger & battery with it. Bigger but practical.

Might need to retire my loyal 3/8 brushed ratchet to full time coffee grinder duty.

The member that made a coffee grinder was onto something. It’s now possible to slow grind coffee with this setup and not wake up the entire household. Think it also beats my previous forays into burr grinders.

Hario v60 from Amazon Japan. Takes a 6mm socket on top when hand cranking is too tedious.

The 2401, in that pic and Milwaukees lineup, is the best overall tool in their lineup. IMO. Cheap, versatile, performs beyond pay grade, and is user friendly for anyone. I have 2 and they get more use than any other tool due to versatility. From IKEA furniture, to outlet work, to drilling pilot hole, to drywall.

If I find one again for less than $50 I think I can justify 2. The best part is the clutch can be tuned for delicate stuff like tightening screws in plastic toys.

Picked up a preowned M12 installation tool via Amazon last week, less charger and 2 batteries. Looks and feels like quality so far, no complaints yet with the preowned status. Now to find some projects to use it on!

I'm not heavy on utube big red review but one small minor detail on the M18 inflator....

Where the hose wrap is, they made it magnetic on the top and bottom. Noticed this when I was winding it back and when I had passed the nozzle over, it did a -stick-

Epstein -

It's a subtle detail but not like it worked for me unless I purposely wound the cord so that it would land on the top/botton of the posts where it's magnetized.

I undid it twice and -rewound- it to my preferred - which is a large looser loop and not a tight loop. IMO it's better for the hose.
It did not land in said areas so I just tucked it under as usual.

Got the m18 6 gallon wet dry vacuum today.

I have a unique situation where there aren't a lot of plugs in the back half of my basement garage. So rather then do a cord real in the cieling I opted for this.

So far I love it. Good power moves easy and not having g to worry about how much cord I have left is huge improvement. It's also quieter then my normal shopvac .... which is now in the garbage since it imploded...

I recently did a cord real in the ceiling. I love it. It makes corded tools almost as handy as cordless and less likely to trip over a cord since retracting it takes seconds. One of my favorite tools in my garage.

I have one at the other side of the garage since there was a plug in the ceiling, but the back half of the garage has 3 plugs in a 25 x 25 area

Nope single battery.
Thanks. Was hoping you were an early adopter :) Am eagerly awaiting feedback on the dual battery ones from GJ members once they start rolling out. Hopefully in the next month.

Torque test channel validated the dual battery blower has some extra oomph.

It's crazy how short the runtime is for the M18 blowers compared to the others tested according to TTC's 2 videos. Even the new dual battery runtime is a lot shorter than I expected. And to think they are marketing them to OPE guys as a replacement for gas blowers. I can't see my gardener using one of these daily having to invest so much money in batteries & possibly a way to charge them during the same day.

But what do I know, I don't work in OPE. I've the 1 battery M18 blower for some years now, I know it doesn't have great runtime but never knew it was that short running continuously even on a 12.0. I use 8.0 & 9.0 with mine but I don't use it for yard work or for long periods of time. Lasts a while for me in between charges & I'm fine with it's "low" power as often reviewed.for my needs.

In other news, my dreams of waltzing into a Milwaukee service center and getting my 9.0's exchanged for 8.0's were dashed. Looks like these are all 4 year old batteries, although one of them still appears to be e service eligible. Am pretty sure I got my money's worth out of them before they started to go out of balance. Wonder if your mileage may vary depending on who's working there that day?

What's interesting is I am reading this article and I am supposed to be prorated after 3 years?

The actual fine print is here per the manual:

*The warranty period for MILWAUKEE M18™ 48-11-1828 (with the serial number prefix "B41D" and earlier), V18™ 48-11-1830 (with the serial number prefix "A95"), and V28™ 48-11-2830 (with the serial number prefix "A71") is five (5) years / 2000 charges from the date of purchase, whichever first occurs. The first 1000 charges or 2 years of the warranty, whichever first occurs, are covered through free replacement of the defective battery. This means that for the earlier of the first 1000 charges or two (2) years from the date of purchase/first charge, a replacement battery will be provided to the customer for any defective battery free of charge. Thereafter, the remaining charges up to a total of 2000 or the remainder of the five (5) year period from the date of purchase, whichever first occurs, will be covered on a pro rata basis. This means that every customer gets an additional 1000 charges or three (3) years of pro rata warranty on the these battery packs, depending upon the amount of use. MILWAUKEE M18™ 48-11-1828 (with the serial number prefix "B41E" and later), V18™48-11-1830 (with the serial number prefix "E95"), and M28™ 48-11-2830 (with the serial number prefix "C71") have different warranty periods, as listed. Warranty Registration is not necessary to obtain the applicable warranty on a MILWAUKEE battery pack. The manufacturing date of the product will be used to determine the warranty period if no proof of purchase is provided at the time warranty service is requested.

Anyone try this or is it even worth it?

Edit: Or do they give you a prorated credit off a full priced battery, hence its cheaper to get a battery on sale?

I think they subsequently figured out that they had a dud 12.0 which dropped the runtime in half.

UPDATE! The below suggestions were correct. Our 1 year old HD12.0 is not pulling from all banks of cells :( We just took apart to confirm. AND just tested the single batt blower with an XC6.0 and it ALSO lasted 9.5mins. I do apologize for the fake news, either way a 1 year old HD12.0 battery used maybe 2 times a month kicking the bucket not reflecting too well on the 'ol red brand. Ranking has been updated for those of you who have it. 19 mins, 38 points, 824 points total. Still last place :p

20min still probably ***** for those that are using their OPE for a living, but who knows if they will have a choice in CA with the way things are going. Maybe eventually I'll practice abstinence (to stop over populating the planet), go vegan and have an electric car that drives itself :)

If I didn more wood working or construction type products it probably would have been in the running. But mines more for small metal working messes and detailing.

Now thst dual batt blower is something that has my attention. If I could ditch my backpack blower for it I would so I could get rid of my gas/oil

The guys on our school campus walk around in 2's & 3's with backpack blowers to clean up leaves around the buildings. They go non stop for hours and keep extra fuel on a Gator cart. It's certainly not going to be a substitute for what they are doing. For myself, I keep the m18 blower in the hallway near the front door. Our apartment on campus has a tree that drops seeds that could double as ball bearings. It's like trying to walk on marbles down the steps. 30 seconds, twice a day, keeps the concrete clean. Our appt has no garage or shed so it's got to be electric. At home, I have a 14 hp walk behind Billy Goat leaf blower. We live in the woods and even with the big machine, it's an hour or two of leaf blowing, multiple times each fall.
It's all about the right tool for the job.

Ah that explains it & makes more sense. I watched the video yesterday & had not seen an update. Most likely wouldn't have either, I watch YT on my TV & the app I use does not show comments.

Last place is fine with me, I don't care much about their rankings anyway. Only got the blower cause I have the batteries & I caught it on sale at the time. It's fine for my needs & I use it with a stubby nozzle so it's probably even less powerful. :)

While I would never get into MX, the dual battery stuff I can definitely get into. Waiting for a deal on the lawnmower.

My single battery blower has been fine for home, light duty use: mostly blowing leaves off the driveway and off the cars. Can't see needing the two-battery version unless you have a larger property and are using it to clear your whole yard.

I thought the same things about pro landscape guys, but I’m picturing the guys by me with a truck, trailer, some zero turns and blowers and trimmers.

Last week I was on a college campus and a grounds guy was trimming with a cordless DeWalt trimmer. In the middle of the day on campus. And you could hardly notice him. I think that is a game changer for folks working near and around occupied spaces, especially with so many folks working from home part or full time.

I have the last generation single battery version and have a small yard with 3 trees between the front and back. I can't clear the leaves off with one 8.0 or 9.0 battery.
