Thought I'd "Throw a Monkey Wrench" into the Conversation here and see what comes out the other end. Of All the Vintage Tools I have Collected and Inherited over the Years, I still believe that The Monkey Wrench is My Favorite because of it's Simple Ingenius Design and it's Contribution to History. It Truely was the FIRST MULTI PURPOSE TOO. Wrench, Hammer, Pry Tool , and according to the Classic Movie CLUE , a Very Handy Weapon too! ...Anyway, I just Posted a Video on The Monkey Wrench and I thought You Guys Might enjoy Please Share Your Pics and Thoughts on this Great Tool.
My Video is on You Tube , Name MrDanoconnor , Sorry but Since I'm New to the Site Here, I can NOT seem to post a Link.?? ...... "Book 'em DanO'

These had been in family passed down for many years. The monkey wrench is stamped T.H.L. I've never figured out since no one in family has last name L. Dad was L.T.H.8c06d66f2eaee7fe2c5e7d7bbd0271ba.jpg5147e89fe0de9228b6298e7014306cf5.jpg67a0fcca2748b49329f307a6c8456e6d.jpge33ece6cb6ed6e7fab7c75b0ecba58f9.jpg6cf3edc67a9efe66b48922790c04cbff.jpga0cdb9ada6e7299a0a8d41c76896af86.jpgec16a051ba8559cbd89fc92241cb9449.jpgc973d62f0c821e1b74d1ff10bc89574c.jpg

Great white north in an igloo
That 4th pic, second tool is pretty damn cool. Wouldnt think it would feel too great reefing on that open end on opposite side. Unless you put on the back side of fastener which would be a pita

The BIG one of mine has the Letters NYCS which stands for New York Central Lines and also says on the Head RAILROAD SPECIAL... Seen one on EBAY for $32 + Shipping...I've been told these were Originally used Mostly by Railroad men working on Steam Engines when Every Bolt & Nut was Square, thus the Flat Steel Grip. They would also use them to Tighten & Loosen the Big Square Nuts by Hammering them around at the Points. Anything RR Related us Very Collectible and valuable.

A LOT of old "Monkey" wrenches were stamped with the initials of the railroad line that they were owned by (or made for.)

This thread should be in the vintage forum.

There are a mess of threads for different manufacturers: Coes, Pexto (Peck Stow & Wilcox), Trimo, etc.
