I received the master set last week (after I was impressed with my initial order). All of these tools are top notch and at least as nice as my Snap On tools. I'm surprised these aren't more popular.

Has anyone here ever tried to get anything replaced under warranty? How quick was the turn around for that?

Just ordered me some 1/4 wobble extensions and a 1/4 universal. Was hoping to get more but it adds up quick lol. Can't wait till they show up.

That style of wrench is not uncommon. Genius isn't the only Taiwanese brand with that type of wrench. ....so it's no surprise to me.

Of course, SO has their own as well:

TONE, SO, Nepros, DEEN, KTC

IIRC, TONE offers the longest version.

Hello

As the Nepros customer support doesn't respond to my e-mails am asking here. Have you received a price list for the KTC tools? Do they offer similar discounts like for the Nepros tools? On the KTC website the prices for KTC are much lower than the ones for Nepros, and on the US Nepros the discounts are around 50%, do they offer the same 50% discount for the KTC tools to ? :bounce:

Thanks,
R25

I have just ordered some Nepros and KTC. The KTC were at quite a discount to the local market (about 45% discount). I can't say I have seen or heard of a full US price list. I have found that generally speaking if you work out the discount of the list tools (on the Nepros site) you can apply it to the KTC listings and they come out about the same.

As far as them getting back to you, it took about a week and a half to respond to my latest order. They seem to be very busy at the moment. All I can say is hang in there and they will get back to you.

Like SPV said, they do discount the KTC tools, but the shipping is more expensive.

The customer support email address is no longer active I believe. If you order a catalog, the lady that responds is the current rep. I asked her about the shipping rates for KTC, and she couldn't give a breakdown, only a quote upon request. She is very helpful answering questions, and usually responds quickly.

I picked up my latest order yesterday, it included the round head ratchet. I think this is my new favorite ratchet :thumbup: Small head for a round ratchet, holds the socket a lot tighter than the quick release models, and oh so smooth :beer: I have never been a fan of quick release ratchets, but the Nepros are too nice to pass up, I hope they eventually make a non quick release option.

I have a question regarding your Nepros tool box. On the envelope with the lock keys, what is written on the sticker attached to it, and what languages are on the sticker?

The reason I ask is, I purchased this Craftsman box yesterday...

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00959618000P?prdNo=12&blockNo=12&blockType=G12

I swear it's a dead ringer for the KTC SKX5206 box that's part of the Nepros Master set. I started another thread about my quest to find the country of manufacture of the C-Man box, as well as emailing the KTC rep asking. Sears didn't give me a straight answer, but I'm thinking it might be made by SPG International in Canada, like the Craftsman Canadian are.

Pulled the trigger on some Nepros goodies: one of the leather covered handle 3/8" ratchets (hey, life is short), an extension set, a 3/8" stubby ratchet and 3/8 breaker bar. Pics when they arrive.

Merry Christmas to me, tra-la-la. xmas

I have found communication to be excellent with Eri. I originally ordered the standard ratchet and decided later that day I had to have the leather covered one. She worked out the order change with no hassles.

Ok, mystery solved. Waterloo does make the KTC SKX5206 included in the Nepros Master set, as well as the Craftsman 59618.

So the two chests are indeed the same. Here is their response...

"Thank you for your inquiry on the 59618 tool chest. This is manufactured by Waterloo Industries in Sedalia, MO for Sears. If you are having any issues with your box, please contact your local Sears store. Thanks!"

I then asked about the KTC SKX5206, and they replied...

"Yes, that is also one of our units."

I'm happy now, I wanted that KTC chest in black, and in a round about way with out even knowing, I ended up with it :beer:

So if any if you fellas want that KTC chest, you can pick one up at your local Sears in a range of colors for around $250 with online discounts :thumbup:

Case closed.........

Have any of you had trouble tracking your shipment?

I've plugged the tracking number into every place I can think of on the UPS site and it keeps telling me its invalid. Do I need to go to the Japanese version of the UPS site and track it that way?

I use the US UPS site, but it usually takes a day or two for it to get in the system.

Interesting stuff!

Has anyone purchased the Nepros 1/4 or 1/2 socket sets? I have seen a lot of 3/8, but seems like many skip over the 1/4 and 1/2. I am planning on getting the sets which will exist as my "master sets". Basically the term I use to justify having far too many "duplicate" socket sets..

It would be really nice if complete Nepros 1/2 sets were available. The only set on their site is a partial set in terms of socket sizes.

I purchased the 1/4" set, man that mini breaker bar in the set makes me chuckle every time I I pick it up :lol_hitti The set is almost like jewelry :beer:

If you take the jump from the Nepros.net site to the Nepros European distributor, and look at the Waterloo chests. The Waterloo "Euro" and "Euro Traxx" are the closest cousins to the KTC SKX5206 I have found besides the Craftsman 59618 twin :thumbup: Also google Holt Waterloo for the UK Waterloo distributor, the "Euro" series appear to be almost the same except they are missing the brace across the lid, I think. The pics are too small to get a good look. The shell of the chests look pretty much the same, with the flush side handles. Anyways, enough speculation... The Waterloo rep stated they make the SKX5206 chest :beer:

Just got my order of 1/4 wobbles in and the 1/4 universal. I must say, wow the quality is impressive!! Hope to order more soon. I have included a pic of the universal next to a snap on, they are both tilted to the side as far as they go, you can see the snap on one tilts further, nepros one only swivels about as much as a impact universal, but man is it nice!!! You can see that the two universals are roughly the same length maybe a few mm shorter. I compared the long wobble next to my craftsman extension, you can clearly see the chrome quality is way way way way better on the nepros stuff. The only disapointment I have is that I didn't have more money to spend when I ordered them, and that they didn't give me a nepros sticker :( lol.

Pics.

The KTC/Nepros rep finally got back to me about the SKX5206 tool chest, and here is what she said.

"Thank you for your inquiry and I am sorry that I didn’t get back to you sooner.

Well, SKX5206 is made in USA"

So, a Waterloo it is....... :thumbup:

Also, she said they will be closed until Jan 4th for the New Year holiday :beer:

Nice collection there JK47. What's in the rest of the drawers? :D

I wonder if KTC will ever sell the EK-series boxes on its own, without the tools.

Whats in the other drawers? You ask? Snap On metric Flank drive combo wrenches, Snap On hard handle screwdrivers purchased in the early 90's, and some miscellaneous Craftsman goods.

KTC does sell the EKR113 and the EKR103 solo....

Here's a link....

That is nice Craftsman box. I might follow your lead and save up to get a Craftsman/Nepros Master Set.

Guys your Nepros tools are really nice! :bowdown:
And from what you say the quality is as high as the finish...

As I said in the "tools from the old world" thread, I'm a Facom enthusiast, but I'm a bit disappointed to see less and less "made in France" stamped on their tools and a research for aesthetic more and more oriented to sophisticated plastic shapes. So i considered other tools company to continue my tool quest but there was always something missing, inedequate to my definition of a "perfect" tool, well until your thread, so thank you!

I really like the "sober and refined" style that Nepros's tools have! It makes me think a lot about my Mitutoyo metrology tools...

I'd like to know if some of you have already had an order shipped directly from Nepros to Europe via their US website (or by contacting them)? I think I've seen australian and maybe south african who ordered but nobody from Europe.

I ask this because they have a partner in the Netherlands (linked on their website, apparently for whole Europe) but:
-The website is only in dutch.
-They don't have the whole range. (at least online)
-The most annoying, prices are way different of US prices, it's usually twice higher, so around list prices...

I guess I should contact them but as someone said, japanese don't like to go "out of the menu", especially as they already have a reseller in europe...

@ R25GTS:
Do you have news from KTC? Do they accept to directly send to Romania?

@Superautobacs:
If you don't mind me asking, do Nepros directly send your tools to Vancouver or do you have some friends on the other side of Semiahmoo Bay? :)

@JK47,

Thanks for that tip; I never realized that. :thumbup:

@Cantause,

My first two orders were shipped directly to Vancouver, but both times I got dinged with taxes/fees. My two subsequent orders have been shipped to Point Roberts, Washington--just a 30mins drive, and I never pay for any duties/taxes.

Like you, I too am a Facom man. I have a large Facom collection and have been very pleased with their products. I agree that I wish all of their products were still made in France, but a large majority of their tools are still made in Europe. As far as Nepros, I consider them first rate. They compare very favorably to any and all brands out there (and yes, that includes Snap-On). When you consider their very reasonable prices, for the U.S. anyway, they are hard to beat.

@JK47

You need to stop posting photos of your collection. They are too tempting and I have no money left after Christmas :(.

They never answered to my e-mail sent on the website and the e-mail sent to the address where everyone from here sent the orders returned back with an error. So i don't have any answer. I think they won't send anything in Europe as long as they have a distributor here. I wanted more the KTC tools instead of the Nepros one, the Nepros are more art than tools and i can't use them or abuse them like any tool. So i wanted more to know if they can offer for KTC the same discounts as for the Nepros. I think if more people from Europe will want some tools from them it would be better to send the money to a nice and kind person in US :bowdown: to make the order for us and send the package here. I can offer myself volunteer to receive the package :) (i don't pay customs fees/taxes) :bounce:. All these effort will matter if the final price for the tools will be lower enough compared to our european tools we have here with the lifetime warranty and the rest..

Wish everyone a Great and Happy New Year! :beer:

I ordered KTC combo wrenches and offset box wrenches for the same discount as Nepros :bounce:, but the shipping was considerably more :(

Since the email doesn't work for you R25 GTS, try their customer service phone number +81-774-46-3717, I got it from the KTC English catalog. They are closed until January 4th for the holidays. I hope this helps :beer:

What to do you think about this ratchet handle from KTC? Or from Toptul? who makes them? KTC or Toptul? or they are buying from someone else? Crazy.

Monte is right; I think I posted about it.

KTC and Toptul are both outsourcing, and I'm not sure who's the OEM for this ratcheting screwdriver. I've played with it, but wasn't overly impressed. Just my opinion though. I much prefer the ratcheting screwdriver that JK47 has in his toolbox drawer--the Megapro. JK, what's your opinion?
