Perhaps to look at some ordinary KTC tools to buy? (Nepros is KTC's extra fancy line) I don't think regular KTC has the fancy decorations or the super see yourself in the mirror chrome. But probably also top tier tools.

Just perusing Frank's Tools site : it might just be KTC but "KTC Tie Rod Wrench" #AS701 looks neat,like a Flare Nut Wrench had children with a Combination Wrench.

As far as I can see it's only there for those that need them for tool control purposes - they are available in other colours too!

You are a tool connnoisseur.
The black ion plated stuff looks good. I prefer a more technical looking finish over polished chrome.

Dutchgray, did you have to pay any import duty, VAT and custom clearance charges ?
I just got a used camera from Japan and the charges soon add up
Had to pay £54 odd for duty, VAT and the processing fee. Most expensive wrenches I own, probably could have got Snap on for less. They are probably worth it though.
I have all 3 in 3/8" They're very similar in feel, Nepros is a QR. I haven't used the MAC all but a couple times since I got it precisely because its not a QR otherwise its also a very nice ratchet. My go-to are the Nepros long and Snap-On QR long flex comfort grip. I also have Nepros flex which I use occasionally but im a leverage guy so, regardless of brand, I don't use 6-8" 3/8 ratchets too often. I had Frank order me the newer Nepros long flex which im anxiously awaiting for for precisely this reason.
By the way Nepros released the 290, 1/4" 90 tooth in December. Hope they do a long and long flex of it and they'll get my money for sure.

I paid £26 in total on a $650 USD camera. The seller did the decent thing on the value declaration without me asking.
The customs boys would have a field day if someone imported a 230,000 yen nepros master toolset

Not alot between them in terms of size really. I like the flush QR on the Nepros though.
No, in terms of flex notice that the Nepros uses a Teflon pad for tension, holds pretty snug so its impossible to loosen a screw and make it floppy, likewise it may not lose tension as its used like a screw style. I'll know more when I get the longer version which i'll use a lot.
The ratcheting heads though, all roughly the same size, roughly the same feel. Nepros does use those tiny JIS Philips on the cover plate though which I don't like and I ended up replacing them with identical countersunk metric hex heads (I superlube all my ratchets when I can). They're a ******* to remove from the factory, loctited in an everything. The flush button keeps the thickness the same as a non-QR but the Snap-On QR is more convenient simply due to accessibility. I also like the button because you can use it to hold tension on a loose fastener so it wont back swing when you don't want it to. With the Nepros however you're basically pushing your finger into a hole (giggity) so in terms of ergonomics its a little less friendly. Price you pay for the slimmer design.

I just ordered stuff and didn't realize the long flex 90 would be available soon. I'll skip the Mac and order one of those myself.I need reach over brute torque but these pieces surely provide both.
I'd be in for the 1/4 flex and straight Nepros too. My order has the long flex and straight KTC 1/4"s coming.Well priced.
They will be interesting to compare to my TR4 Cornwell and the older AR8(3X tooth) Matco.

It's a good tool.
Back when I bought my first Nepros I wasn't totally happy with the standard ratchet. I think they'd had some issues with sockets being too hard to remove, but in curing the problem had gone too far the other way, and the lockup between ratchet and extension wasn't as good as between extension and socket.
My solution was to get this. In fairness, I use it as my "clean" ratchet, so it gets used with screwdriver bits as much as sockets, and probably not as heavily as some other tools. Decent tool though. Lovely and comfortable to use, and the finish is superb.
If buying again today, I'd simply get the 90 tooth, which by all accounts is superb, and doesn't have these issues.
I notice though, that the website is currently listing the 90 tooth long and short ratchets only, but not the regular. Same in 1/2 inch? Anybody know anything about this?

That's the one . I've got the straight 90 in 3/8 x 11 so I'm thinking that 72 as the short.
I'm on the fence about the long flex 90 since I just got the Mac 90 x 13 flex.
I may wait to see what Nepros comes out with in the way of an XXL 1/2 x 90 but I doubt they'll go into the 20 some inch market. We'll see.
I need all this like a hole in the head but after TSHTF + emp attack I might be able to trade them for chickens.

Dutch - yes, totally understand! I have the Koken version and use it the same way - i.e. mostly with my fingertips in a tight space! Would love the Nepros, but can't see them on their website, or Rakuten either!

I'd love to whack that 72 apart and build a rotohead out of it ...blow a few minds.
It has the ultimate handle for that.
Have to gut it when it gets here and see if the sidewall in the head will handle the load. I doubt it. Looks awful thin.

I got it off Rakuten but it was domestic shipping only so I had to use a forwarding service, so much expense.
Franks tools now lists them so buy it from him.
Frank will get most anything you want from over there. Just collect up the part numbers and ask for a quote.This month is pliers loadup and a 72 Nepros for me.I needed some soft jaw stuff, chain clip pliers and proper screw pliers. The Japanese have that stuff figured out.That's motorcycle world over there.

I live down near New Orleans, and rust is a major issue here. I keep my tools in an airconditioned spare room that is adjacent to my shop. Otherwise, the humidity and unpredictable rains would rust my tools to bits. What I like to do is keep an Ikea cart that I can roll out there from my big box -- will be buying a KTC buggy from Frankstools.com ASAP.

KTC recently announced a few new additions to the Nepros lineup:

Saw those, don't have any interest at the moment though. Noticed they're using torx on the 1/4 models. Wonder if that will be a running change.
Im fearing them making a NBR290FL in the 9-10" range. I'd have to buy one...or two.
Wish MAC would come to the rescue and make QR versions of their AXIS ratchets, Nepros and Snap-On are the only games in town for high quality ratchets that I like.

I was about to place an order for a ratchet, extensions and sockets direct from nepros.net and was wondering if there is any way to request a specific shipping method. I would prefer FedEx, as they are pretty lax about duty fees. UPS is the absolute worst. Nothing slips through them. According to the latest tariff schedule, the Feds will hit me with 9% plus UPS hitting me with their brokerage fee. Not the end of the world, but I'd like to avoid paying another $40 if I don't have to. Any advice would be appreciated.
