DRPD became an authorized dealer for KTC/Nepros stuff first thing this year. They cater the tool enthusiasts for the cycling community. Speaking of PB Swiss, they have DRPD labeled PB Swiss stuff, which is kind of cool

I purchased directly though Nepros Japan. An email was sent by Nepros market manger to those who have purchased directly before with the .pdf Pizza posted above. We were asked to reply with order and await payment instructions. I was told I was the first person in the world to get Gold IP order confirmed.

I would try: [email protected] to be directed to the right person.

What I appreciate about ip gold is its high visibility compared to other chrome ratchets in my collection. I am big on color coded identification to spend less time searching for the right tool. Take a look at my cart, if I want long nose I look for the Hazet, if I want duckbill I search for Tsunoda. Same with screwdrivers, Wera yellow is flathead, Wera green is Hex, Gedore are torx…

I purchased the NTX2X21GL set and plan on intermingling the tools in my daily tool cart.

I love your tool cart and am incredibly jealous of your set. I hope you share a lot of pictures when it arrives.

I have a tool cart with drawers and everything which probably takes up twice as much space as your tool cart but fits less. The whole thing is collapsible too right? I've really been looking for a good toolbox/cart that I can take places. When its collapsed, all the tools are stored securely in the cart, right? And does it fit in the trunk of a sedan for example?

Those socket organizers are nice! I can definitely see those in use as I already have the socket rail clips super glued and always keep the deeps in on the shelf.

@FuzzyTiger Rather than pollute the Nepros thread with my tools I made one coving just my Hazet Assistant. Check it out here:

The gold colored, limited edition, ion-plated Nepros tools and the two previous ion-plated series all have a common theme. That is, they are tools to be used. The ion-plating, which was a process developed by NASA in the 1950's, is an additional surface finish that goes on top of the double-nickle chrome plated finish. Whey ion-plating? For greater surface finish durability. In terms of hardness of the ion-plating, it's 2 to 3 times harder than the standard chrome plated finish.

This current series is apparently limited until Sept 1st, 2022.
I can't remember if the IP-black and IP-blue were sold as individual peices, but for now, the gold series stuff is primarily sold as sets.
In the past, after a few months go by, I've noticed individual items being available for sale on some Japanese online merchants.
Perhaps if DRPD purchases a large set, and there aren't any buyers, they could break up the set to sell them individually down the road?

Here is an interesting size and weight comparison of Nepros and KTC 10mm deep sockets. Nepros socket is 7 grams lighter than KTC. I am a bit of a weight weenie and noticed right away Nepros sockets were also much lighter than the Wera set I was using before.

These 1/4 extensions are the only identical KTC and Nepros items I have to compare.

I have 3/8 drive KTC sockets for the home and have the Digiratchet that uses the same mechanism.
Photos are from 2009, when they were new. I've since added several more.

The broaching is the same as Nepros sockets, that is, it's a nice fastener-friendly profile when compared to some other famous brands and the run of the mill stuff from Taiwan/China.
Aside from the obvious cosmetic differences, the heights are very similar with the shallow sockets, but the outer diameters differ between KTC/Nepros. Oh, can't forget that the materials are different between the two as well.

Some random height comparison: 3/8 on left; 1/4 on right

Their 36-tooth mechism in today's standards is, meh. An update for their pear head ratchets is waaay overdue.

I got one 😁
They were the special model like 6 years ago, i doubt you will find one new anywhere anymore. Maybe Ebay if lucky

The NBR390WK is more likely to get hold of.

Yea I know, I can find the other two that were part of the 20th anniversary but that one seems to be more elusive. If you ever want to part with yours let me know.

Anyone have any input on what length 3/8 flex head they prefer?
I had ordered a NBR390F which is a 3/8 standard length (~8”) flex head but then thought everyone raves about these longer 3/8 Flex heads and want to try one so I cancelled my order and ordered a NBR390FL which is a ~12.5” 3/8 flex head. Now im having second thoughts… I know, get both. It might come to that.
I also ordered a 1/4 standard length flex head and spinners for both.

What does the first set retail for in the USA? I know this is a bad question.

I would say Japanese precision manufacturing beats US manufacturing.
I have a 30 tooth Snap-On 80s ratchet I never upgraded to fine tooth so I could use it safely for higher torque applications. That said, I have a 3/8 breaker bar I will use first before the ratchet because I like to preserve my tools.

figured i would mention this incase anyones in my shoes now or in the future.
getting rid of old craftsman tools i had in a mobile tool box. moving some of my fairly new sk garage tools to the mobile box. was looking for new stuff to replace the sk garage stuff. decided to try nepros. have zero experience with their tools. havent even seen them first hand.
anyway the moral of the story. i like to use paypal for every single internet purchase if possible. small purchase it deducts right from my bank accnt. medium purchases i do pay in 4. large purchases i do paypal credit as it allows me 6mon to pay with zero interest (used this method for buying new miller welder , browning rifle etc). problem is nepros doesnt do paypal but i discovered a work around. i signed up for a feature called paypal key. as i understand it ,its a medium between nepros and paypal so im able to pay with paypal credit. but ya i hope the nepros are good stuff as temptation set in and i spent $600 haha

Does anyone know who makes the EKR-1004 KTC toolbox? It is on the Nepros site as well...I am assuming that the are made in Japan by KTC, but an enlightening post earlier mentioned some KTC boxes were made by waterloo.

Anyone have any ideas on this and if they are good quality? Worth it?

Looks like they only have some sockets and wrenches left in the blue on the website.
I know this is very old thread but DRPD tools has the best deals I've found on nepros and koken tools plus they do pay pal pay in 4 ( which you need no credit for ) and they chunk it in 4 payments every 2 weeks if you want or just buy it outright

Some pictures of most of my Nepros tools. Old pictures were trashed thanks to Photobucket.
Where did you get those organizer sets? I recognize the wrench ones and the ones that come in the steel case but like the one in the drawer with the screwdrivers??? I'm struggling to organize mine and I don't really like rails.

My options...42140eb16595037eb90a54fd7fc8ccd1.jpg

looking for a pebble 4766 or any 47xx pebble hinged handle
Does Snap-On still make that?

Well GJ strikes again and I am ready to go down the nepros rabbit hole now. I would love to start my collection with the NTBR390KBK20. I know it's a long shot but anyone know where I can find one for sale?

I just started seeing that version of their pliers, not sure if they are available yet?

Anyone know when or if Nepros plans to update their longer and shorter 3/8 drive ratchets and possibly 1/4" and 1/2" drive models to the new "xxxA" version?

Probably will, eventually.

To answer you questions above:

Ricleh probably bought a master set. You could inquire with KTC/Nepros to see if they sell the organizers separately.

The Snap-on multi-purpose ratchets are still made. A couple years ago they released a Dual-80 version in 3/8 drive. Part # FZ80

Not sure whether the adjustable crowsfoot are still made in Spain, by Acesa.

Leather wrapped pliers were limited edition.

As superautobacs said, I purchased 2 of the master sets when they first came out. That was 13 years ago. The prices back then were really good.
