Beautiful home with a great view. And obviously very well taken care of. I'm sure you'll draw a LOT of attention. Good Luck with the sale.

Gentlemen all,

Thanks for your kind words. Have the first showing this evening at 6:30.

Happy to have one on the first day. Going to be interesting as it has been some time ago since we had to jump the hoops of a real estate transaction.

Could not resist this shot, red-green:

Wait.... what? I must have missed something. Your moving?
Good luck with the sale. That is one sweet garage, and those views......beautiful.

Good luck with the sale! Amazing view. Fabulous landscaping. Lots of light inside the house - what's not to like? Again, good luck.

We have loved this location for a long time. Would be great to keep this home but as we continue to acquire tenure, we lack the energy/interest needed to maintain two properties. It's a one of a kind location. View is always protected by our Home Owners Association since it owns the property that we look over. There will never be a rooftop in this view and we have control over the trees should they obstruct any of the view.

Just selling the "city" home although, this is still considered to be in the boonies. Great golfing is 7 minutes out, along with Home Depot/Lowes/Huge Mall, tons of restaurants, major hospital/trauma center, and many other amenities all less than a 10 minute drive. Waterfront location is where we hope to die at.

Thank you both for taking the time to post.

Best,

Ody.

Odis,
Just when I think I have seen all of the best garages on GJ I seem to find another. I love the house, garage, view, landscaping, and most of all the cars. Thank you very much for sharing this with us. Have a great day enjoying your slice of paradise, I'll be tagging along for future developments.

Otis,
I thought your new build was "sweet", but this one is too. I understand the "tenure" as my wife and I are in the same boat. We elected to do the same a few years ago and it really makes things easier. Good Luck!

Thanks, Dubber!

It is a great location and have some wonderful memories of this home.

Thanks for stopping by, JB. Nice to read of your appreciation of what we have accomplished around this property. Would be great to have the new owners have the same pride of ownership as we have had all these many years. The shop is pretty much a clean slate for the next owner. If they are into GJ at all, they can make this a very nice space.

Thanks, Glenn.

This home, one could say, was the one we practiced with so that made it a bit easier to plan the other home. Both have their +/- but in the end, we have had great experiences at both. We will need all the good luck there is to move the home quickly. Open house today, and perhaps, a qualified buyer will make an offer.

On the fun side, this has been my birthday weekend.

Started on Friday with a fun drive in the '62 Vette and late lunch at Lake Crescent Lodge: http://www.olympicnationalparks.com/accommodations/lake-crescent-resort.aspx

Saturday morning took us to Hurricane Ridge in the Ford:

attachment.php

http://www.nps.gov/olym/planyourvisit/visiting-hurricane-ridge.htm

Naturally, had to hum to myself "Happy Birthday To Me" while doing this:

Video credits to my wife. She did well considering this was the first time she did video with the iPhone.

Then a switch of cars and drove to Port Ludlow and the Snug Harbor Cafe for another late lunch in the 356 Cab. Fast car to slow car. Both exhilarating to drive.

Thanks again for reading and looking at the pictures.

Best,

Ody.

PS: More work on the flagstone project. Almost done:

Ody,
First a belated Happy Birthday! Sounds like it was a perfect weekend celebrating with the person and things you love in some of America's most gorgeous locations.

As much as I enjoy doing projects around the house and in the garage, now that my age starts with a 7 I enjoy having the heavy lifting done by others, even when the scale of my projects pale in comparison to yours.

Looks like some very nice Travertine? Should prove to be a very interesting project, Bob. During installation and on completion of this project, hope you will enjoy it all in good health.

Good eye Ody, it's tumbled Travertine. A team of 3 transformed the pool deck from epoxied pea gravel (chattahoochee) to Travertine in a day and a half.
Old%20Patio%201_zps1p2hiz4w.jpg

A second team of 5 refinished the pool with new waterline tile in two days.
Waterline%20Tile%20Installed_zpsf9udafpv.jpg

I moved furniture, shortened three aluminum screen doors and sealed the Travertine after it was done. My only back strain was from lifting my wallet.

Thanks for the heads up, Walt. Could be the picture host site was having issues generating the content. Then again too, it could be a host of other issues related to the mysteries of the internet.

Hope you can find the time to check back. Trust this issue is temporary.

Thanks for logging on to this thread.

The 356 Coupe project has stalled:

Along with the master bathroom project and that is still in the case work phase. Will get all of these projects completed, just don't know when. Hate to procrastinate, but we know, there is still tomorrow!

Inside the cool garage, feet up, and a cold drink in hand .... is the place to be right now.

Too true! It is windy today and lots of sun. 69 degrees from the cool wind off the water. Drove a couple of cars today. The garage is toasty warm and will stay that way through "happy hour."

Trust you are well and keeping busy.

Thank you for posting.

There is nothing spectacular about this car, save for the fact it was our very first new car we bought off the showroom floor in July of 1992. 59K+ miles as of this writing, all original except for the headlight lenses. Yeah, this includes brakes, clutch, paint, top, interior......... but not tires or batteries.

Have been concentrating on the house and yard over the past few weeks in preparation for a 356 Porsche gathering. Had about 50, 356 cars and a host of other interesting 911s show up for the day.

We also had a bunch of guests arrive in daily drivers however, they were parked in the neighbors pasture.

Door prizes, catered lunch, beer garden, and really cool cars made for a perfect day with nearly perfect weather:

You never cease to amaze Ody!

Thanks, upndown. Really enjoy hosting these events. One of my crafty buddies sent me this shot. For Sale......Not in my lifetime:

attachment.php

Amazing venue. Congrats.

dub,

Would bet at least 80% of our guests that day commented on the venue with great appreciation of the location, organization, and the overall "spirit" of the flag displays. Very gratifying to have our efforts recognized.

Wow, amazing number of 356's in the area ! How far did some of them travel ?

Hi toolfool!

Cars came from the greater Vancouver, BC area, Vancouver Island, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. The long distance award went to three guys driving up from SoCal. This was one of the cars from that trio and is Oh-So-Nice:

James,

We started that day with some anxious moments. Final set-up started at 7:30A to continue from the previous day's set-up efforts. Just parking our collection of cars that morning became an issue when a couple of cars refused to start. Certainly, someone caught these efforts to push the cars to the line up and should be an interesting set of photos.

The event was to commence at 10A but we had guests start to show up at around 8:30, so, to keep things going, we offered breakfast treats and loads of coffee and then put the early-birds to work. Think they had a good time helping out!

Wow. Looks like it was a beautiful day with many, many great cars! What a wonderful spot for the 356s to gather at.

It seems everyone to a person enjoyed the location based on the comments we received. It was equally fun to watch some of the guests maneuver their cars to the prime spots on the lawn for photo ops. Think my all time favorite was the exquisite '53 Continental (edit: Is actually a '55). Just a beautiful car and it belongs to a fellow from Canada:

attachment.php

Your place is nirvana.

Thanks for your post 55cadillacking. Interesting word choice since a very enthusiastic guest used this same word to describe his feeling for the cars/location and he was equally ecstatic on the presentation of our collection. Every time we had a chance to chat, "nirvana" was somehow worked into the conversation. He must have taken 500 shots of the cars displayed by the shop:

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to read and look at the pictures.

My best to you all,

Ody.

Ody, those are some great pics. I think I see three corvettes lined up side by side in that last photo. If you have a front view shot of those lined up I would sure love to see them.

Hey Ody, Thanks for the pic. Those were some of the great years for corvettes

Wouldn't you know Don Long would be sneaking in on my vette fantasy. I love his 62 vette rebuild. You both are at the top of the craftsmanship ladder. Those cars all have real chrome bumpers, .... a sign of the corvettes glory years. Can't wait to finish my 56 resto-mod so I can bring it out to play. thanks again.

Greetings, Don!

Just love what you have done on your '62 Vette along with all the other projects in your garage.

Appreciate that you take the time to post on this thread and share in the fun we have here.

Don's '62 is going to be a really nice car. Have started to look closer at some of the resto-mod Vettes and would not be a bit surprised that one may grace the shop space one day.

Looking forward to seeing your progress on the '56 you are building. A ton of work, but surely well worth the efforts.

The green 356 is a beauty!

Stunning. The car was beautifully restored with exceptional attention to detail:
