I've already made a few posts but I just noticed this section so I'll introduce myself. My real name is Jeremy, Joel is my middle name hence the online name. I am a Sales/Support engineer for a Satcom company. I mainly work more along the electronics side of things.
In my free time I am into many typical guy things (hunting, fishing, guns, fast cars, big trucks, sports, etc...). For the past several years, most of my online postings have been at a popular BMW message board. I've worked on becoming knowledgeable about the E36 3-series (92-99). I've owned two different ones... A '94 that got t-boned (RIP) and my current '97 328i. I've always had hopes to get into some heavy modifications for my cars, but maintenance and other things in life have priority.
I also currently have a '96 F-150 4X4 (5.0L, reg cab, short bed). I thought it was a good deal for $2400 until I found out the guy lied to me and did a lazy repair on the clutch. So the truck ended up being about $3600 after a new clutch and flywheel. The truck has been a learning experience requiring bigger tools.
At any rate, I really enjoy acquiring new tools. I always figure it's the same price or cheaper to purchase the tools yourself and DIY. The bonus is that you get to keep the tools. Everyone has been very nice and helpful at this forum. I look forward to reading future posts and learning from more experienced mechanics.
