The “New SK” Tool Arrivals

Post up your arrivals from the “New SK”. This is the first thing I’ve received from the New SK company acquired by Great Star.

New SK 14mm socket from the new SK acquired by Great Star. They’ve gone to shipping in a padded envelope. Chrome on socket is flawless from what I can see. Socket feels lighter more like a gearwrench socket than what I thought an older sk would feel like. Will compare to 2 other older sk 14 mm sockets I have. One is from a mint set from the early 1990’s. The other is a regular user that is worn and has some nicks that is beginning to have chrome loss on the rim with a significant rough spot. Still functional, but could bite you.

I can’t say for sure. I think this is new stock. The machining was very nice and chrome was perfect, including the grey paint on the inside of the socket.

Yes, got an email from them with a tracking number, when it was out for delivery & when it was delivered.

SK took so long to process my order the credit card company is requiring reauthorization. No problem, except I also used a gift card on the same order, and it now shows zero balance but SK is still charging me full pop. Trying to get it worked out with SK and so far customer service has been really good.

Update: SK customer service (Lauren, to be precise) issued a new gift card and completed my order. Gotta give them props for that.

Alright, I gotta ask. How do you get the $20 discount? I joined the pro club in early January and after waiting two weeks, I sent two emails a week apart asking for my 25% off code. When I didn't get a reply, I called and asked for it. Still waiting for that order to get fulfilled and I'm not ordering anything else until I get I have coming, but this whole thing doesn't appear to be as simple as it sounded like.

is anyone still having issues with their orders? my order still isn’t showing correctly and I’m having to authorize my card again, but the total is wrong. Got the second invoice but it’s wrong too. Getting really frustrated. Contacted them multiple times, but it’s not resolved yet, and the order is getting auto canceled soon because I haven’t authorized the card again…because the total is wrong. Am I the only one?

The website now says they hope to start shipping in March. I did get a shipping confirmation for last weeks order and it's on the way. The January 19th order is still pending though. It has to get better. I am imagining that they packed everything up, moved to PA, and couldn't find anyone willing to go to work. There are probably pallets of unopened boxes everywhere and as they find enough product to put an order together, they send it.

The fascination with S-K has been a lifelong mystery to me. Snap-On is obvious, Proto was the first tools I ever bought and MAC seems to have some good stuff as well as does Matco. S-K never impressed me.

Only SK tool I bought was the 30" 1/2 drive breaker bar. I am interested in there adjustable interior clip removal tool but it's kinda expensive so I've held off.

Talked with someone from SK today about confirming an order from January due to an email I got. She said they should be starting production next week. They pulled availability of products from their website to fill as many previous orders as they could before they ran out. Wonder how long it will be until we can order once production starts
