Picked up this gem today. Whew, what an ordeal getting it unloaded from the truck but she's in the shop now.

I know it will take me months to get it just the way I like it but it will be worth it. I finally reached the limits of my old boxes.

I'll get the old ones cleaned up and prepare myself for the Craigslist dance. It's like saying goodbye to an old friend...sniff.... Too bad I don't have any son-in-law's to pass these on to!

Got any daughters?

I do...my oldest already has my old Craftsman triple box full of tools. The middle daughter has her own set for her teeny apartment and the youngest is heading off to college so she won't have room for it for a few years and I've got no place to store it.

Besides....I kinda sorta told the wife I would sell them to offset the price of the new one :bounce:

Unless there is a major lack of floor space, I never understood why guys get rid of their old boxes? My new boxes have always been additions, not replacements! More drawers for nuts, bolts and small parts!

Because tool boxes are expensive!! It's hard for some of us to dish out hundreds or thousands for a new box but when you have one you don't necessarily need or grew out of and can make money on it towards the new one.

Well that depends on if old ones are worth the clean up and hassle of CL buyers. Like some old boxes can always be used for a mobile tool base or extra storage for something.

I just found out that I am your long lost illegitimate son! Let me know where and when I can pick up my new boxes from!

Before I got my snap on box I had a hf 56" box. It wasn't a dinky little $75 craftsman 5 drawer.
I sold it for $600 and I originally only paid $700 for it. So it was definitely worth it to sell it.

I saw a lot of that when I was looking. Even people selling carts for more than "sale" price. I guess there are people on craigslist who haven't heard of hf. Pawn shops too.
Op congrats on the purchase & you might want to consider keeping a small top chest for nuts & bolts.

Sure, in that case it's definitely worth the clean up and sell.

That's kinda like saying... if it weren't for money, I'd drive a ______.
