LOL,
Sorry Ed, it was me!! (sorry - I've been MIA for a few days, gotta work now) Hope you liked it. Most of the shots from your tool box were from a while ago so I had to make some guesses. I thought (mistakenly) that it was supposed to be anonymous. xmas
Regards,
Rick

TheToolMan you are very welcome. I must also say thanks to Krusty. The story is : I searched your old posts and saw a bunch of pictures of your tool box and tools. I had no idea what to get you and began talking with Krusty about it. I told him that I wanted to get you somthing vintage but had looked and could not find anything in my area. Krusty then stepped up to the plate and told me of a vintage ratchet that he had. Krusty offered it to me at a very good price so that I would have a cool tool for you. We struck a deal and your gift was on the way. Krusty helped out so much. After reading your post on how much you liked the gift I was so pleased. The Christmas Spirit ran wild on this board and I am so happy to have been a part of it. I am already planning for next year.

Merry Christmas ToolMan, Krusty and everyone else.

How fitting, I uploaded my Secret Santa gift pic, and my Secret Santa is the last one to post in this thread.

Best I could remember from the invoice in the packaging from yesterday was that he was from Some Beach, FL, so it has to be Terabyte.....................:spit:

Blacknwhitepit had tipped me off it would be coming from Sears.

Wife wrapped the packaging box from Sears, and put it under the tree.

Killer gift, I actually went out searching for these (even posted about the local Sears shelves being 1/3rd empty). Terabyte scores!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many thanks, these pliers design also exceeded my expectations.

 glad you liked them. with me traveling nonstop for work i had no other choice...

and hello from some beach, florida :)

Hey Gang,
Sorry it took me so long to post - got stuck having to work and then set up an aqarium we bought my daughter for Xmas. Then by the time I made it back here - got caught up in reading what everyone else got!!

I got a pretty cool gift. A set of Whia Screwdrivers n a Mac wonder pliers. I already have a complete set of SK's but these are pretty cool looking. Much better quality then I have. never really heard / paid much attention to other brands, but I learned quite a bit researching these screwdrivers. I'm looking forward to working with them.
Plus my SS threw in some stuff from where he works a hat and keychain of sorts. I had to look them up on line and it's automated ski maintenance equipment. Really cool stuff. I'm an Mechanical Engineer and spent several years designing pick and place machinery, so that was really cool to check out.
Here is the goods!!
SS_RED.JPG

Keychain has a church key on it, but I'm not sure what the other features are, maybe ski maintenance oriented?

I'm also not sure of the difference in the drivers (What's the difference in the H and Z tips?) - but here is what I got:
PH3
PZ3
PH2
PZ2
PH1
I checked out Whia's website, but can't really seem to tell. But man, do they have alot of screwdrivers. I assume I'll have to add to this set
Thanks alot - this has been alot of fun and you guys are a great group

I'm glad you liked the gifts Rick. If you click on "Seedmech" on the website you'll see we also make research ag machinery. The keyring is a bottle opener and 13mm wrench to open the panels on the combines. I saw you had the SK screwdrivers but thought it may be time to try something a little more ergonomic. Sorry but the #1 pozi was not available. I got them through an Austrian colleague.

I also wanted to give something with some 'history'. The Cobras were given to me by a master tech when I started as an apprentice. I ended up buying the whole Cobra range for myself. Since then they've been long-term 'borrowed' by three other techs who have trained under me. They have since all bought their own full sets of Cobras. I didn't see any in your toolbox pics and I thought everybody should try some.:)

I hope you get some use out of all of your gifts!

Also, thanks again to BWP for organising this! It was a lot of fun doing this will all of you guys and I can't wait to do it again next year. I hope everyone has/had a great Christmas and New Year and that you all really enjoy your SS gifts.:beer::beer::beer:

I only had some crowbars and one old prybar without a handle... Now I'm looking for stuff to tear apart :D The handles are very comfortable and they have striking caps, too. I can see why everybody likes these prybars so much, I love them.

Thank you very, very much!!! It's been a long time since I got a true surprise gift that I appreciated this much.

BTW, autoace opened his gift. He's out of town and will post pics when he gets back.

Glad you liked them. I just took a chance... I only saw the standard-handled prybars in your box and these seemed like they might find a good home at your place.

They found an excellent home in my "persuasion" drawer :D

Used them today to convince our old dishwasher that it really wanted to come out from under the counter... Thanks again!

Glad you like them and don't have them, I found the post where you said you just wanted the Torx drivers when someone posted the whole set from Wiha. LOL sorry for no note or anything, they were delivered here and my wife got them out within an hour.

GDA was my SS. He sent me a 24 inch 1/2 drive Snap on breaker bar.

After receiving the SUPER COOL breaker bar I noticed that the square drive end is not like my other breaker bars. I found the item on snappys website and found that they make a normal version and a 45 degree angle version. Does anyone know why they make the two different versions ? It looks like to me that they would both do the exact same job.

Thanks again GDA, The gift rocked. Now my kids can change the tires for me, no excuses with this kind of leverage

I got my secret santa gift from rsanter. It was a 3 "c" cell maglight flashlight and a pair of line pliers. Really great gifts as I had recently lost my good flashlight on a camping trip :mad: and have a brake caliper I need to repair and don't want to have to drain the whole brake line. Sorry no pic but definitely a fantastic gift!

Sometimes you can't get at a nut from an angle with leverage.

If you have a six point socket, doesn't pulling it off and giving it a quarter turn do the same thing? I don't think you have the correct reason. I would suggest that it is just a design feature of some particular breaker bars. Possibly extra strength is the reasoning.
