I've been at Offutt AFB, NE since early January and plan to be here until early or mid July. This is as close as you can get without a few security badges, a security ****** and the presence of armed guards. Makes for an interesting work day.

Just to the left of the main sign is the warning sign that tells you that yourself and your property are subject to search at anytime and deadly force is authorized. We can't have phones, computers, cameras, MP3 players, flash drives, voice recorders or anything bluetooth enabled in the building. Other electronics have to be authorized in advance and get physically inspected entering and leaving the building.

I'm overseeing remodeling of part of the building President Bush went to on 9/11.

We're a custom hardwood floor mill. We also manufacture heat registers and ship them all over the world. We use some the the equipment that Greg's Co makes

Before retirement I spent 35 years as a Machinery Analyst. I performed mechanical and performance analysis on large reciprocating engines and compressors for mostly the oil and gas related industries. I did occasionally work for other industries such as Breweries, Chemical plants and even the U.S Navy and Coast Guard.
There were plenty of specialized tools utilized in the maintenance of this equipment.
The engine/compressor pictured is a Cooper Bessemer W-250 Integral Gas Compressor. It is 2-Cycle V-12 Natural Gas fueled engine with 3 integral double acting gas compressor cylinders rated at 4000 BHP @ 250 RPM. This unit was on a natural gas transmission line in Wyoming.

Are your heat registers made out of metal (Brass) or wood? I processed some brass registers as samples a few years ago (to put a finish on the surface). If you have one of our machines, hopefully everything is working out just fine.

I work in the fleet shop for an ambulance company. Our first priority is working on our own fleet, next is other outside emergency vehicles, and then we work on anything else that anyone wants us to, that way, if we are caught up with work on the ambulances, rather than having nothing to do, we are making money to offset the cost of running the shop
