Too many irons in the fire, HA, that never happens to me. My problem is when I vow to do just that something comes up that has to be done right now. Or I look at something and think ok, 10 minutes of time and this will make my next project that much easier. After a few days and untold dollars over "budget" I have it done.

I like the look of your bench, it is cluttered but clean at the same time. Share some of the woodworking/leather projects you have if you don't mind?

Haha here, you go, only 6 months late. First is a key holder I made out of mahogany. I chiseled out the Harley bar and shield and stained it in slightly different colors.

During staining:

I picked up these neat cast metal hooks on Amazon:

And finally mounted on the wall with all of my keys:

I made this dresser caddy out of leather for my brother for Christmas, using copper rivets to hold the shape. I stamped the "B" to personalize it:

I've also been slowly working on building a bed for my wife and I. It's coming along pretty slowly though, and it's quickly coming down to the wire, as there's gonna be some major changes coming in a few months...

That's awesome! Yeah the color is very...uh...interesting. Seafoam green I think is the name of it. I like it though, as you don't see any cars on the road with that color.

So it's been a long time since I last gave an update on my shop. It's amazing how busy life gets and how quickly time passes by. Anyways, in that time, there's been quite a number of changes and things going on with the place.

First of all, since my house is on almost 1.5 acres, my old Craftsman riding lawn mower wasn't really up to the task of mowing all of it. I got the mower for free because it wasn't running right. Come to find out it swallows push rods...long story. I replaced both push rods, and it runs fine, but I didn't want to push my luck. So whilst browsing Craigslist, my dad found this:

It's a 1976 International Cub with a 59" Woods belly mower. It runs great and cuts my mowing time in half.

I also convinced my dad to let me have his wood lathe in exchange for building him a workbench to go in his shop where this used to be. He pretty much used this as a bench to store random stuff, so it was a win win situation for both of us.

It came with a nice set of Great Neck lathe tools. They were a little rusty, so I cleaned them up and sharpened them.

At this point I needed to rearrange things, as most of my power tools were all pushed into this corner.

It ended up fitting perfectly to the right of my main workbench.

Good job on the Cub, I'm sure you'll find all kinds of fun things to do with a little tractor. I hear you on the riding mower just not able to cut it any longer. See what I did there, hah I crack myself up sometimes. My old rider took over 6 hours to mow ~3 acres the first time and I had to spend another 3 fixing the random stuff that broke. I tossed in the towel and bought a zero turn, this last weekend I mowed ~3.5 in 2:12, much better!

In more personal news, this summer was busy with a week long vacation to Yellowstone in August with my wife.

Finally, the biggest news of all...

I will be getting a little helper very soon! She's due in early January. We're super excited and also a little scared. How do you raise a daughter? Guess we'll figure that one out as we go.

Thanks, yeah I'd like to find or build a snow plow/grader for it, though we usually don't get too much snow around here. I thought about going with a zero turn, but I got this for much cheaper than any zero turn I could find. Haha I'm gonna have to learn some more of those dad jokes from you, as you seem to have a bunch of them.

I hear you on the kid front. The mrs is due near the end of the month, one moment its exciting, the next its total hysteria at the thought of whats coming.

I had 5 brothers and we had the first grandchild and it was a girl, I was in shock and had no idea what to do with a girl. Turns out I was right and I still don't have a clue lol. The best advice I have received was the difference between a boy and girl for the first year or is is that a girl you clean front to back, boy back to front.

When they start talking and say daddy I'm hungry, respond with hello hungry I'm dad. Cracks me up every time and annoys the daylights out of them.
