This is the other vise I got recently, first one was an import, this is a C. Parker 106-5. I "think" it's had some repair work below the jaws, the bottom doesn't show a bead though...I dunno I wire brushed the area and the original owner swears it hasn't been fixed...darn thing is 100lbs plus easy. I can't complain, it was given to me. It will handle anything I will put in it for sure.....any old Parker vise fans out there?

C. Parker is my brand of choice. I currently have about three now. They are nice and sturdy works of art.

Let's see a close-up of the area you are talking about, and trust the knowledgeable eyes around here. They've helped me out too many times to count.

Aye, a close-up would be handy. That does look like it's been welded, judging from the second photo, but even if it has, it's nowt to worry about if it has been done well and everything lines up as it should.

I cleaned it up and it does look like it's been welded. I'll probably just keep it and let it live out it's "retirement life" doing a LOT lighter work than would break these welds. I have a nice truck wheel stand I'll pretty up and mount it....ehh...like I said, it was a freebie. :)
