Fascinating. Thanks for sharing. I have many of the same constraints and have been trying to tweak a design that incorporates very wide and very high. Looks like you hit my nail on the head!

  • Are you pleased with the size? I estimate you have 5' of space on both sides of the entrance.
  • Are you satisfied with the doors? Or would a sliding barn door work better? My tentative plan has 3 over-lapping sliding doors.
  • Any problems using the loft?

I will be very pleased if my project looks as even close to as good as your does.

I built a shed close to that several years ago. I had new wood and mine did not look that good. Heck of a good build.

Thanks for the compliments!

5' is about right; my "width" was 1" shy of 16' framed.

Other than not matching, I like the doors. Some light, and much better for keeping the creepy crawlies out than sliders would have been. I thought about sliders, but wanted the place tighter than a slider allows, plus I like this look better. had I used solid door, I would have put some Faux diagonal bracing on it to give it the barn door look.

speaking of light, the skylight is amazing for lighting it up in there during the day. Very small, does not face south, but lots O' light!

Loft is a dream to use for the most part. The access opening is immediately inside the right door, which is the primary use door. A std 6 ft ladder (stored just to the right of the door) and you are in (Up?). I also left the side framing open so I can hand things up that way within reason.

I just read through your build Outlawmws. Very impressive. I admire you thriftiness. It looks real nice.

I must catch up on some of the other things you have going on.
